Annette Bening and Warren Beatty met while making Bugsy, married privately in 1992, and have four children. The public record traces those milestones, but it does not establish what their relationship is like in private.
How Annette Bening and Warren Beatty met
Their relationship began during the making of Bugsy, the 1991 film in which they both appeared. A contemporaneous Los Angeles Times report said they met the previous year during production. A 2017 Guardian profile likewise places the start of their relationship on the set and recounts that Beatty waited until filming had wrapped before asking Bening out. That detail is a reported anecdote, not a direct quotation from either of them.

When did they marry?
Bening and Beatty married privately in 1992. The Los Angeles Times reported on March 13, 1992 that they had recently married in a ceremony attended only by the couple and their two-month-old daughter. The paper quoted Bening’s publicist, Nancy Seltzer, saying they wanted details of the event kept private. Biography.com also lists 1992 as their marriage year.
How many children do they have?
Biography.com’s profile of Bening, updated March 10, 2024, reports that the couple have four children, born in 1992, 1994, 1997, and 2000. Those birth years provide a concise public outline of their family; ages and other personal details published in older stories are specific to the time those stories appeared.
