Season 3 ends with Pierpoint transformed, Harper plotting a new kind of trading career, Yasmin engaged to Henry, Robert leaving the bank, Eric pushed out, and Rishi facing the consequences of his debt. Those turns reset the show’s power map before it returns for Season 4.
What changed at Pierpoint?
Pierpoint’s crisis starts with Henry Muck’s green-energy venture and the bank’s high-profile bet on sustainable investment. As the season unfolds, the gap between green rhetoric and financial incentives becomes harder to ignore; a TIME cast interview described the storyline as a critique of companies that may pivot toward oil when money rewards it (TIME, August 2024).
The bank’s troubles culminate in a merger with Al-Mi’raj Holdings, a fictional sovereign-backed entity. The result is a restructured Al-Mi’raj Pierpoint, not the old bank carrying on unchanged. Eric helps save the institution, but the new structure dismisses him. The rescue preserves the business while leaving the people who built their identities around Pierpoint to find a different place in the world.
Where Harper stands after leaving Pierpoint
Fired at the end of Season 2, Harper does not return to Pierpoint. She joins Petra Koenig at Leviathan Alpha and builds a new position in the world of trading. Her work with Petra gives her opportunity, but Harper’s clandestine approach to Otto Mostyn puts their partnership under strain and shows that she still seeks an edge through risk and access.

Harper initially refuses Otto’s offer to join his circle. By the finale, she has proposed a risky shorts-only fund that she wants to run from New York. The plan offers a new vehicle for her ambition, but the season leaves open how much independence she will have under Otto’s influence. Co-creator Mickey Down described Harper’s appetite for risk this way: “I’m going to do something that gives me adrenaline and purpose. I’m going to roll the dice again.” (The Washington Post, September 29, 2024.)
Why Yasmin chooses Henry
Season 3 opens with Yasmin aboard her father Charles Hanani’s yacht, Lady Yasmin. Charles disappears, and flashbacks turn the opening into a mystery tied to allegations, family money and the threat to Yasmin’s finances and public standing. The season makes clear that the life she has relied on is no longer secure.

By the finale, Yasmin is engaged to Henry Muck. She and Robert sleep together and speak openly about their love, but their paths diverge: Yasmin chooses marriage to Henry, whose wealth and social position offer security and protection. That is a useful way to read the choice, not proof that her decision is purely transactional; the creators have described security as part of what Henry represents for her (The Washington Post).
What Robert leaves behind
Working with Henry exposes Robert to the class hierarchy he has been trying to win approval from. His experiences, including with psychedelics, contribute to a reassessment of what he wants from work and life. Rather than chase another place in Pierpoint’s status race, he pursues a job at Little Labs, a venture selling therapeutic psychedelics.

The move gives Robert a possible new start, not a guarantee that he has found a settled future. His departure also closes the season on his unfulfilled relationship with Yasmin: their feelings are real, but they do not lead them to the same choice.
Why Eric’s victory becomes a loss
Eric maneuvers to help save Pierpoint, the institution that has shaped his identity and career. Once the merger creates a new version of the bank, however, his experience is no longer enough to secure his place. He is dismissed, and severance cannot replace the work and status he has built his life around.

The finale’s image of Eric alone on the trading floor makes the contradiction visible: he helps preserve the institution and is still left outside it. Co-creator Konrad Kay summed up Eric’s position: “He sells his soul and then is the king of nothing.” (The Washington Post.)

Rishi’s standalone episode lays bare his gambling, debt and deteriorating marriage. He owes lender Vinay Sarkar more than half a million pounds, according to The Washington Post’s account of the creators’ finale discussion (September 29, 2024). Harper hires Sweetpea and Anraj rather than Rishi, and his financial and personal position worsens.

The season ends with Vinay shooting Rishi’s estranged wife, Diana. This is not simply another warning about Rishi’s gambling: it is a violent escalation with consequences for everyone around him. Kay described the turn as “a character who’s lived his whole life without consequence, finally getting consequence.” (The Washington Post.)
The Season 3 threads to carry into Season 4
- Institution versus independence: Pierpoint’s transformation breaks the assumption that a career or identity can remain secure inside one institution. Harper seeks power outside it; Eric discovers what it costs to be discarded by it.
- Security versus autonomy: Yasmin’s engagement to Henry protects a threatened social and financial position, while Robert chooses a less predictable path away from banking.
- Ambition versus self-destruction: Harper’s appetite for risk fuels her next move; Rishi’s gambling turns risk into debt and violence.
- Money and public image: The green-finance plot, the Hanani family scandal and Henry’s status show how wealth and reputation shape what characters can afford to do.
