At Opening Night Live on August 20, 2024, MachineGames and Lucasfilm Games announced that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 9, 2024, with PlayStation 5 to follow in Spring 2025. Lucasfilm’s announcement records the original dates and release windows.
The announcement was made in 2024, so “finally gets a release date” describes that news moment, not a game that is still awaiting release.

The 2024 Gamescom announcement gave PS5 only a Spring 2025 window. Lucasfilm and the PlayStation product page later confirmed April 17, 2025. Bethesda’s launch announcement and Xbox Wire’s Gamescom coverage describe Game Pass availability from day one for the original Xbox and PC launch. That is a launch-era statement, not confirmation of the game’s current subscription-catalog status.

Edition and early-access details from the announcement
Bethesda’s Gamescom notice described a Last Crusade Pack and said the Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade included the Order of the Giants story DLC, a Temple of Doom outfit and a digital art book. Those editions also offered three days of early access beginning December 6, 2024; the official trailer listed the Collector’s Edition among editions with up to three days of early access as well. These were launch-era edition details, not a statement about current availability or pricing.

Story setting
The game is set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Lucasfilm says Indy investigates a mystery tied to a “great circle” of ancient sites around the world. Lucasfilm’s launch announcement provides the setting and confirms the PS5 date.
