Was there a free official stream?
Yes, but only in selected territories. The ICC announced free live coverage on ICC.tv in more than 80 markets. The broadcaster list included ICC.tv routes for territories such as Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea and a broader “rest of world” category, alongside the specifically mentioned Nepal, Japan and Malaysia.
That does not mean ICC.tv was free everywhere. India, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom had dedicated commercial rights arrangements listed by the ICC. A viewer in one of those markets should not expect the free ICC.tv stream to override local broadcast rights.
Free access also needs to be distinguished from other kinds of low-cost access:
- Free official stream: no subscription charge for eligible viewers in a territory where ICC.tv offered the match.
- Free trial: a temporary promotion, such as the Fubo trial reported around the U.S. broadcast, subject to eligibility and cancellation terms.

New Zealand posted 251/7, with Daryl Mitchell making 63. India’s chase was led by Rohit Sharma, who scored 76. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja completed the pursuit as India reached 254/6 with six balls left, securing a four-wicket victory.
The finalists had reached the championship match through the semifinals: India defeated Australia, while New Zealand defeated South Africa. The final was staged in Dubai rather than at a venue in India or New Zealand.

India
JioStar handled Indian coverage. Star Sports and Sports18 carried the television presentation, while JioHotstar provided digital coverage. United States and Canada
Willow TV was the official rights-holder for both countries. The Willow by Cricbuzz app was identified as a digital route, including Hindi coverage. U.S. reporting at the time also described Willow Sports as available through Fubo. Those were access routes for the live tournament, not proof that a current free replay remains available.
New Zealand
Sky Sport NZ held the rights. Viewers could use Sky Sport television channels, Sky Sport Now or Sky Go, depending on their subscription and device.
Australia
Amazon held the Australian rights, with the Champions Trophy available through Prime Video. The tournament coverage also included Hindi commentary on Amazon. That historical arrangement should not be treated as confirmation that the final is currently included in Prime Video’s replay catalogue.

Why unofficial “free livestream” pages are a poor choice
Search results for an old major sporting event often include pages promising a free full match. They may be unauthorized, disappear without notice, or redirect viewers through aggressive advertising, fake play buttons, notification prompts or downloads. They also cannot establish that they have permission to rebroadcast the Champions Trophy final.
Use the ICC’s official video archive instead. Do not install an unfamiliar player or browser extension simply to access a supposed replay, and do not use a VPN to circumvent regional rights restrictions. If an official video is unavailable in your country, that normally reflects the rights arrangement rather than a technical problem that should be bypassed.
