You can keep VALORANT gameplay live on YouTube around the clock with a verified channel and an encoder-based setup, but do not assume one 24/7 broadcast will produce a complete 24-hour archive. Google’s production guide says streams up to 12 hours are automatically archived and advises recording longer streams for manual upload. For dependable archive coverage, make a separate local recording and plan how to upload footage beyond that limit.
What you need before going live
- A channel with live access: YouTube says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16 years old. Check access before planning a continuous schedule. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements may change.
- An encoder: YouTube identifies encoder streaming as suitable for gameplay and overlays. This is the workflow to use for a VALORANT game feed; the sources here do not establish specific encoder software or PC requirements.
- A separate recording plan: If retaining all footage matters, record locally and arrange to upload longer segments manually. Estimate storage using the recording bitrate you actually configure and the retention period you want; no universal capacity figure is established here.
- Stable power, internet, and monitoring: A 24/7 broadcast depends on the equipment and connection staying available, or someone noticing and addressing interruptions. These are operational needs, not a YouTube uptime guarantee.
Set up the VALORANT broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Open the Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream. Set its title, description, privacy, and thumbnail. Interface labels can change, so follow the current prompts in Studio.
- Configure the encoder. Select the game capture and any overlays you need, and configure your audio sources. Use YouTube’s stream key in the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not show or share it in screenshots, chat, or public text.
- Test privately or unlisted. Before making the broadcast public, check the preview for the correct game image, game audio, microphone mix, and stream key. YouTube’s production guidance recommends private or unlisted settings when you are not actually broadcasting publicly.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Confirm the Live Control Room is receiving the intended picture and sound before proceeding. Starting the encoder sends a feed; it does not by itself mean you have explicitly started the public broadcast.
- Select “GO LIVE” in the Live Control Room. Confirm the broadcast is live, then monitor it. YouTube’s published limits list up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 per stream key, concurrently; that is a concurrency cap, not a promise of uninterrupted service. Check YouTube’s current stream limits.
Plan the archive separately from the live session
Google’s production guide says streams up to 12 hours are automatically turned into on-demand video. For streams longer than 12 hours, it advises recording and manually uploading the footage. This guidance does not establish that a single 24/7 stream will restart seamlessly or that its entire duration will be available as one VOD. Do not build an archive plan around that assumption. See Google’s live-stream production guide.
- Record the gameplay locally if continuous archive coverage is important, including any periods that exceed 12 hours.
- Plan how you will split, retain, and manually upload longer recordings. Check available storage against your own recording bitrate and retention needs.
- Check YouTube Studio after sessions for archive availability, copyright notices, and policy notifications.
- Do not rely on an undocumented automatic restart process for a broadcast exceeding 12 hours; the available official guidance does not establish one.
Copyright and music for a VALORANT stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material and may interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects content that violates copyright rules. If you archive the stream, claims can also be made against the archived video after the broadcast ends. A live session continuing without interruption is therefore not proof that the resulting VOD is clear. YouTube explains copyright issues with live streams and how Content ID claims can affect videos.
For background music, Riot’s Creator-Safe Playlist is the safer choice under Riot’s published conditions. Riot says its listed songs may be used in player-created streams and content, including monetized content, subject to its guidelines. Use a song currently on the playlist and follow its credit and other requirements; Riot does not guarantee rights for music outside the list. Read Riot’s Creator-Safe Guidelines.

Keep a 24/7 setup operational
- Monitor the Live Control Room and encoder rather than treating “GO LIVE” as the end of setup.
- Plan for power or internet outages, encoder failure, and someone or something noticing a lost feed. The official guidance cited here does not establish a seamless YouTube restart for a 24/7 session.
- Keep a local recording independent of the live feed if the archive is important, and verify that the recording is being written correctly.
- Review Studio after each session for separate live interruptions, VOD copyright claims, and other policy notices.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is for looping uploaded videos on YouTube, not for capturing a live VALORANT camera or gameplay session. It is relevant only if your intended broadcast is prerecorded gameplay footage rather than live play. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops it from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
