BGR writer Chris Smith says he paid €491 (about $576) for a VIP ticket to a BTS World Tour concert in Munich after roughly 40 minutes in Ticketmaster’s presale queue. His account, published January 23, 2026, describes one buyer’s experience—not a standard BTS ticket price or a promise that the same approach will work for another sale.

Smith reports that his debit card was charged €491 for a VIP ticket. The BGR article also reports these prices for the German sale, including fees:

These are figures reported for the sale described in the article, not current listings or universal BTS prices. Smith says Ticketmaster’s site indicated that prices would not change between presale and general sale and that the tour was not using dynamic pricing; that is what he says the site displayed, not a general guarantee about future sales. How the presale and queue unfolded
Smith says he bought a $20 BTS ARMY membership in time, registered interest for as many as three venues using the same email address as his Ticketmaster account, and selected Munich, Paris, and Madrid. For the sale, he focused on Munich and used a browser. He also says he risked opening two tabs, despite understanding Ticketmaster’s advice to avoid doing so. These are his recollections of that sale, not current presale instructions: eligibility rules and queue procedures can change.

He reports being about 10,000th in the VIP queue while nearly 70,000 people were in the non-VIP line. The headline rounds the competitive context to 60,000 ARMY members. Those are queue counts from one buyer’s account, not a wider statistic. Smith chose to try VIP first because he believed his place in that queue gave him a better chance than joining the much longer non-VIP line. His experience does not establish that VIP queues generally offer better odds.
Why a ticket appeared after VIP looked sold out
When the purchase screen first appeared, Smith says the VIP tickets seemed unavailable and the venue map was gray. After clearing the filters once more, he reached an order screen and secured a ticket. He later learned it was for a standing section.

Smith speculates that another buyer may have failed to complete checkout, returning the ticket to availability. The article does not confirm that explanation. What it does establish is that he initially saw no VIP availability, then completed a purchase; his success involved preparation and, as he describes it, luck.
