The Hulu Black Friday STARZ deal is no longer available. Hulu offered the STARZ premium-channel add-on for $2.99 per month for 12 months during its 2025 promotion, but the offer ended on December 1, 2025. It was a discount on STARZ added to a Hulu subscription—not the total price of Hulu plus STARZ.
At the promotional rate, STARZ cost $35.88 for the year before taxes. Compared with the then-listed regular add-on price of $10.99 per month, the deal represented $96 in savings over 12 months. Readers looking for the same offer today should not assume that the $2.99 rate is still available.

What the Hulu STARZ deal included
The promotion applied to STARZ purchased through Hulu as a premium add-on. Subscribers could watch STARZ programming inside the Hulu experience, subject to the usual account, device, and catalog restrictions.
Reporting from TechRadar and Kiplinger described the price as $2.99 per month for 12 months, with the promotion ending December 1, 2025. The offer was reported as potentially available to both new and existing Hulu subscribers, although eligibility was account-specific. Some offer language indicated that subscribers who already had STARZ—or who had canceled it less than a month earlier—might not qualify.

Because the original promotion page is no longer available, the exact eligibility rules cannot be confirmed for every account. Promotional terms can also differ depending on how a Hulu subscription was billed or whether another STARZ promotion had previously been used.
How much the deal saved
| Cost | 2025 promotional STARZ add-on | Then-listed regular STARZ add-on |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly STARZ charge | $2.99 | $10.99 |
| 12-month STARZ total | $35.88 | $131.88 |
| Total savings | $96 before taxes | |
The calculation is straightforward: $10.99 minus $2.99 equals $8 in monthly savings, and $8 multiplied by 12 months equals $96. Those figures describe the 2025 promotion and should not be used as a quote for current Hulu pricing.
The $2.99 price was not Hulu plus STARZ combined
A new Hulu customer still needed a Hulu base subscription. At the time, reporting cited Hulu plans starting at $11.99 per month. The STARZ charge was added on top of that base-plan price, so a customer signing up for both services would have paid the Hulu subscription price plus $2.99 per month, before taxes and any other charges.
This distinction matters when comparing the headline deal with the real monthly bill. It also means that the promotion was not a one-time payment for a year of programming: Hulu billed the discounted STARZ add-on monthly during the promotional period.

Does Hulu still offer STARZ for $2.99?
No—not the same 12-month Hulu promotion. As of August 12, 2026, Hulu’s STARZ pages list the add-on at $11.99 per month. Hulu also lists STARZ as a $11.99-per-month premium add-on for Hulu + Live TV customers. Check Hulu’s current STARZ page before subscribing, because prices, taxes, introductory offers, and renewal terms can change.
STARZ may separately advertise introductory standalone pricing. The current STARZ signup promotion referenced in the research included a limited-time $2.99-per-month price for three months, as well as an annual offer. That is a different product and a different promotional period from Hulu’s expired $2.99-for-12-months add-on. A three-month standalone offer should not be described as a replacement for the 2025 Hulu deal.
No official 2026 Black Friday announcement for this specific Hulu STARZ promotion was located in the research for this update. If Hulu brings back a similar offer, the important details to verify will be the end date, whether it is limited to new or returning STARZ subscribers, the monthly price after the introductory period, and whether the offer is available to existing Hulu customers.
What could you watch with the add-on?
Hulu’s STARZ hub promoted a mixture of STARZ original series, movies, and docuseries. The 2025 coverage highlighted programming including Outlander, Power Book IV: Force, Conclave, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Those examples should be treated as snapshots rather than permanent availability promises. Streaming rights change, and a title shown on a service’s promotional page may later leave, move to another tier, or become unavailable in a particular country. Browse the current Hulu STARZ collection before subscribing if a particular film or series is the reason you are considering the add-on.
What you needed to watch
You did not need a special box to use the promotion. Hulu can be watched through supported smart TVs, phones, tablets, computers, game consoles, and streaming players. Hulu lists Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick among its supported device families; availability can vary by model and region.
If your television does not have a compatible Hulu app, an optional Fire TV Stick 4K is one way to add streaming apps to a compatible TV. It is a separate hardware purchase and was not included with the Hulu STARZ promotion. Confirm that your TV has the required HDMI connection and that the device is supported where you live before buying.
What happens after a Hulu add-on promotion ends?
- Check the renewal price. Promotional pricing normally applies only for the stated introductory period. The account page should show the price that applies afterward.
- Review the billing date. Hulu add-ons are subscription charges, so the service can continue billing until you cancel or change the subscription.
- Cancel before the next charge if necessary. Use the account’s subscription-management controls rather than assuming that the promotional term ends automatically.
- Check who bills you. Subscriptions purchased through a third party, mobile provider, or bundle may have different cancellation and billing instructions.
For the expired 2025 offer, the key practical question would have been whether STARZ renewed at the regular add-on price after the 12 discounted months. That renewal amount should be confirmed in the subscriber’s Hulu account or the applicable offer terms, not inferred from old deal coverage.

If you want STARZ only for a particular series or movie, compare the current Hulu add-on price with the current standalone STARZ offer and check the total cost after any introductory period. Hulu integration may be more convenient if you already use Hulu, while a standalone subscription may have different pricing, billing, app, or cancellation terms.

If the goal is the lowest possible annual cost, calculate the entire commitment rather than comparing only the headline monthly rate. Include the Hulu base plan, taxes, the post-promotion renewal price, and any months in which you may not use the service. A discount is most valuable when the subscription will actually be watched—and when it is canceled before an unwanted renewal.

Hulu lists Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick among supported device families. Check compatibility for your exact model and region before purchasing a streaming device.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Hulu’s 2025 Black Friday promotion really did offer STARZ for $2.99 per month for a year, saving $96 against the then-listed $10.99 monthly add-on price. But the deal expired on December 1, 2025, and the $2.99 charge never included the Hulu base plan. Treat current Hulu and STARZ pricing as separate offers, and verify renewal terms before subscribing.
