In an interview on iHeart’s Will and Woody, published December 11, 2025, Jackman said Diamond called after seeing Song Sung Blue and was crying. Jackman asked if he could come over. During the visit, he said, he asked Diamond if he could stay the night.

The Los Angeles Times interview, published November 19, 2025, places Jackman’s visit at Diamond’s Colorado ranch. It reports that Diamond sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables, then the two sang Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”

How Song Sung Blue connects them
Jackman plays Mike Sardina in Song Sung Blue, a film directed by Craig Brewer and starring Kate Hudson. The story follows Mike and Claire Sardina, real-life Neil Diamond tribute performers who performed as Lightning & Thunder.
