When did Howard Stern return to SiriusXM?
Stern and co-host Robin Quivers returned live for the new season on Monday, September 14, 2026. SiriusXM had announced on August 31 that new Monday shows would begin that day. Its recap said the return episode covered the HBO deal, tabloids, Taylor Swift’s wedding, Ronnie’s summer, and other topics; the full episode was available on Howard 100 and in the SiriusXM app. SiriusXM’s return recap.
The Andy Cohen prank belongs to the previous year. Cohen and his Andy Cohen Live co-host John Hill opened the September 8, 2025 show pretending Cohen had taken over Howard 100 and the supposedly canceled Stern Show. They took listener calls and played out the premise before Stern returned to the microphone. The show later described the takeover as a light-hearted prank and documented the listeners’ reaction. SiriusXM’s announcement describes the HBO Max program as an adapted version of the live show, not the live SiriusXM broadcast. It said 40 cameras would capture the conversation for that adaptation; this is a production detail, not an audience or ratings figure. SiriusXM’s August 31, 2026 announcement.
For SiriusXM, the company identifies Howard 100 as the exclusive home of The Howard Stern Show, with weekday programming starting at 7 a.m. ET and replays around the clock. Is Howard Stern still on SiriusXM?
Yes. SiriusXM announced that Stern would continue through 2028 for his exclusive live show and classic-show library. That later announcement resolves the contract uncertainty reported around his September 2025 return. SiriusXM’s 2026 announcement.
The company announcement does not give a show-specific audience or ratings figure for the 2026 return. SiriusXM’s corporate figure of approximately 255 million monthly listeners refers to its platforms generally, not Stern’s audience.
