Was the US Open 2025 final free online?
Not universally. “Free” applied most clearly to the over-the-air ABC option for viewers who could receive their local ABC station without a pay-TV subscription. Online viewing was different: ABC’s digital access and ESPN network streams could require an account, a qualifying television provider, or an eligible subscription.
ESPN’s support documentation explains that access to the networks available in the ESPN App depends on the viewer’s applicable provider or account. Check ESPN’s current access guidance rather than relying on old free-trial or sign-up claims.

What happened in Sinner vs. Alcaraz?
Alcaraz won the championship match in four sets: 6–2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4. The result is confirmed in ESPN’s match report. That means pages promising a live stream of the 2025 final are out of date; the legitimate viewing route is an official replay, not a current broadcast.
Important note about unofficial streams
Avoid mirror sites, unauthorized sports streams, pop-up-heavy “free” players, and links claiming to bypass ESPN or ABC authentication. They are not an authorized way to watch the match and may expose viewers to malware, deceptive downloads, or stolen login credentials. Use the official ABC and ESPN destinations for live-event coverage when available, or the ESPN replay catalog for this completed final.

For a future US Open final
Broadcast rights, local ABC availability, ESPN’s digital packages, prices, and provider lineups can change from one tournament to the next. For a future US Open, confirm all four points before publishing or subscribing:
- Which network has the men’s final in your country and time zone;
- whether your local ABC affiliate is included in the relevant television or live-TV service;
- whether ESPN’s app requires a participating provider or separate subscription;
- and whether the event is live, delayed, or available later as an official replay.
For the 2025 US Open, the tournament ran from August 24 through September 7, the men’s final was scheduled for ABC at 2 p.m. Eastern, and ESPN provided the digital court-stream ecosystem. Those details describe the completed 2025 event and should not be treated as a guarantee of future rights or pricing.
