The parade is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026. NBCUniversal is promoting it as the parade’s 100th march or 100th edition. “100th anniversary” is less precise: the parade began in 1924 but did not take place in 1942, 1943, or 1944 because of World War II.

For viewers who mean “without cable” as “without a recurring bill,” an antenna is usually the clearest legal solution. NBC’s local affiliate broadcasts the parade over the air. Once you own a suitable antenna, there is normally no monthly streaming charge, login, broadband connection, or trial deadline.
This works best if you are within reliable reception range of an NBC transmitter. Results depend on your distance from the tower, terrain, nearby buildings, antenna placement, and whether the station uses a VHF or UHF frequency. An antenna’s advertised “100-mile” range is not a guarantee; transmitter direction and local obstacles matter more than the number printed on the package.
How to check whether an antenna will work
- Open AntennaWeb.
- Enter your address or ZIP code.
- Find the local NBC affiliate in the results.
- Note the estimated signal strength, transmitter direction, and recommended antenna type.
- Choose an indoor, attic, or outdoor antenna based on those results and your home’s construction.
AntennaWeb provides address-based station and antenna information, but it cannot guarantee reception at a particular television.
Setting up the antenna
- Connect the antenna’s coaxial cable to the television’s RF, Antenna, or TV In port.
- Place an indoor antenna near a window and as high as practical.
- Point a directional antenna toward the NBC transmitter identified by the lookup tool.
- Open the television’s settings and run Auto Scan, Channel Scan, or Digital Channel Search.
- Save the channels, then identify the local NBC station.

The basic antenna method is free over-the-air television, not a free internet stream.

Will Peacock have a replay?
Do not plan around a replay unless Peacock or NBC explicitly confirms one. The current parade event page says the event is unavailable outside its event window, and complete post-event availability has not been guaranteed. If watching live matters, use an antenna backup or verify the event listing before Thanksgiving morning.
Can NBC.com stream the parade for free?
Usually not as an open, no-login stream. NBC’s own live-stream instructions say that live NBC viewing requires authorization from a participating TV provider. NBC also says there is no standalone way to purchase NBC Live without such a provider.

A cable-replacement service can sometimes serve as the participating provider, but only if it carries the viewer’s local NBC affiliate and the subscription authorizes NBC streaming. A successful login still does not guarantee that every market has the same local feed or schedule.
Can a free trial provide the parade online?
Possibly—but this is a temporary, eligibility-dependent workaround, not a guaranteed free 2026 stream. Trial lengths, prices, channel lineups, location rules, and eligibility can change before Thanksgiving. A trial normally requires a payment method and may automatically become a paid subscription.

How to use a trial without an unexpected charge
- Enter your ZIP code in the service’s local-channel checker.
- Confirm that the listing says your local NBC affiliate, not just NBC News Now or another news channel.
- Read the checkout screen for the exact trial end date and time.
- Sign up shortly before the parade, not months ahead.
- Save the confirmation email and note the date on your calendar.
- Cancel before billing if you do not want the service afterward.
- Save the cancellation confirmation.
Fubo specifically says that trial lengths vary, a payment card is required, and canceling during a trial can immediately end access. Read the service’s own cancellation terms before starting any trial.
NBC, NBC News Now, and Peacock are not the same thing
Searching for “free NBC stream” can produce the wrong result. These services have different roles:
- Local NBC affiliate: The station that carries the official parade broadcast in its market.
- NBC.com and the NBC app: Live NBC streaming generally requires a participating TV-provider login.
- NBC News Now: A free news stream, not the same as the local NBC entertainment broadcast with parade hosts, performances, and network production.
- Peacock Premium: The official NBCUniversal streaming route to check for the live event.
- Peacock Premium Plus local NBC: A location-based live local NBC channel for eligible subscribers and markets.
A free news stream may be legitimate and useful, but it should not be described as the complete NBC telecast unless the rights holder confirms that it is.

The parade does not appear in Peacock

- Verify the plan. Select should not be assumed to include a live event.
- Update or restart the Peacock app.
- Try Peacock in a desktop browser.
- Check the official event page again; the listing may not appear until close to the event window.
Peacock says the local NBC channel is unavailable
- Confirm that the device is in an eligible U.S. market.
- Disable VPN or location-spoofing software.
- Check whether the device location is being detected incorrectly.
- Remember that Premium Plus local NBC availability is market-specific.
- Use the parade event listing or an antenna instead of relying on the local-channel feature.
Peacock says the local NBC channel is tied to the streaming device’s location, so travelers may see a different local feed when their location changes.

NBC.com asks for a TV-provider login
That is expected for NBC’s authenticated live stream. An internet-provider login does not necessarily qualify. Use a participating pay-TV or cable-replacement service, subscribe through Peacock if the event is available there, or receive NBC over the air with an antenna.
The antenna finds no NBC station
- Move the antenna nearer to a window or higher on the wall.
- Point it toward the transmitter shown by AntennaWeb.
- Run another channel scan after every major position change.
- Try an attic or outdoor antenna if indoor reception is weak.
