How to watch the 2024 Billboard Music Awards now depends on replay availability: the ceremony originally aired Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on FOX and Amazon Fire TV Channels, with Paramount+ announced for on-demand viewing. Check Paramount+ and official BBMAs/Billboard channels before assuming the full special remains available.
Michelle Buteau hosted the two-hour special, which was built around Billboard chart performance rather than a conventional public vote. The finalist field and final results are included below, with “finalists” used because that is Billboard’s terminology.

When did the 2024 Billboard Music Awards air?
The 2024 Billboard Music Awards aired on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. FOX and Amazon Fire TV Channels carried the original presentation, while Paramount+ was announced as the on-demand destination. The ceremony was a two-hour special hosted by Michelle Buteau.
| Viewing route | How it worked for the 2024 ceremony | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| FOX | Viewers used their local FOX station during the original broadcast. | Local FOX availability depended on the viewer’s market and television provider. |
| Amazon Fire TV Channels | The special was distributed through Fire TV Channels on compatible Fire TV smart TVs, streaming media players, and Fire Tablets. | A Fire TV device was optional; FOX and the announced on-demand route were separate ways to access the event. |
| Paramount+ | Paramount+ was announced as the on-demand platform after the broadcast. | The 2024 announcement does not prove that the complete special remains in the catalog now. |
| Billboard digital channels | Performances and related material were distributed through Billboard.com and BBMAs/Billboard social channels. | Digital clips and related videos are not necessarily the complete awards ceremony. |
The original multi-platform arrangement is documented in FOXFLASH’s 2024 distribution announcement. Because the ceremony has already aired, current readers should treat the table as historical viewing information and verify any replay listing before subscribing to a service or assuming the full show is available.

Can you still watch the 2024 Billboard Music Awards?
The official 2024 announcement established Paramount+ as the on-demand home, but it does not establish that the completed ceremony is still available in the Paramount+ catalog at the time of reading. Check Paramount+ directly and search the official BBMAs and Billboard channels for authorized replay uploads or performance videos.
A current listing may vary by country, licensing period, and catalog changes. Do not confuse an individual performance, red-carpet clip, news report, or social-media excerpt with the full two-hour special.
Watching through Fire TV Channels
During the original broadcast, viewers with a compatible device could use Fire TV Channels on a Fire TV smart TV, streaming media player, or Fire Tablet. An Amazon Fire TV streaming device was an optional way to use that route, not a requirement for the awards: viewers could also watch through a local FOX station or use the announced Paramount+ on-demand option.
Since the event is no longer live, buying a device cannot restore the December 2024 broadcast. A Fire TV device is relevant only if the reader wants a general way to access currently available live-TV channels or compatible streaming apps.
Could you stream the awards through live-TV services?
Historically, viewers could consider live-TV streaming services that carried their local FOX affiliate, including DirecTV Stream, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and Sling. Contemporary viewing guides presented these as possible FOX access routes, but local-channel coverage depended on geography, plan, and provider.

What is the best way to approach this event now?
For an archival viewer, first check Paramount+ for the complete special, then check official BBMAs and Billboard channels for authorized clips or performance uploads. If the full ceremony is unavailable, the official winner and finalist reports provide the most reliable record of the 2024 results and categories.
For future Billboard Music Awards broadcasts, the practical viewing checklist is different: confirm the announced network, check whether the local FOX affiliate is available in the market, verify any Fire TV Channels or on-demand arrangement, and distinguish a live broadcast from a replay. Platform rights and catalogs can change after an event has aired.
