The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22 on February 9, 2025. If you are looking for the original live broadcast, there is no longer a live game to watch. In the United States, the main free online option at the time was Tubi, which streamed FOX’s Super Bowl coverage after viewers created a Tubi account with an email address.
This guide explains how the Eagles–Chiefs game was distributed, which no-cable options were available for the original broadcast, and what to check before trying to stream a future Super Bowl.
How the original Super Bowl 2025 broadcast worked
Super Bowl LIX aired on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time. FOX was the primary English-language broadcaster, and its coverage was also available through Tubi in the United States.
The event has now ended. Tubi’s original Super Bowl stream should not be treated as a permanent replay or as proof that every future Super Bowl will be available there. Streaming rights and free-access arrangements can change from one NFL season to the next.

Best free online option: Tubi
For viewers in the United States who wanted to watch the Eagles vs. Chiefs game online without cable, Tubi was the clearest free option for the original live event. FOX Sports announced that Tubi would carry FOX’s Super Bowl LIX coverage without requiring a pay-TV or multichannel video programming distributor login.
You did not need a cable subscription or credit-card sign-up. You did need to create a Tubi account using an email address. The practical setup was:
- Open Tubi on a supported browser, television, phone, tablet, or streaming device.
- Create or sign in to a Tubi account using email registration.
- Find the live FOX or Super Bowl LIX coverage page when the event is available.
- Watch the stream over a sufficiently fast internet connection.
That answer applies to the 2025 broadcast, not to a current live stream. Do not assume that Tubi permanently streams every Super Bowl or every FOX NFL game free of charge.
Was Tubi’s stream really 4K?
FOX reported that its live-streaming operation delivered the Tubi Super Bowl LIX stream in 4K. FOX also reported 15.5 million peak concurrent viewers and 24 million unique viewers across Tubi’s game-day programming.

- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.
- No more fumbling in the dark: See what you’re pressing with backlit buttons.
- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
Those are platform-level post-event figures, not a guarantee that every viewer received 4K. Actual picture quality depended on the device, television, application, internet connection, account setup, and stream configuration. A compatible 4K television alone would not guarantee a 4K feed.
Watch through FOX without cable
FOX was the main English-language network for Super Bowl LIX. If you did not have cable, there were two broad ways to receive the FOX broadcast besides Tubi.
1. Use an over-the-air antenna
An antenna could receive the local FOX affiliate without a monthly television subscription. This was often the simplest long-term option for people who live within reliable range of a FOX station.
Reception is not universal. It depends on your local market, distance from the transmitter, terrain, building materials, nearby obstructions, antenna placement, and whether a FOX affiliate broadcasts in your area. Check local station availability and reception before buying equipment or relying on an antenna for a major event.

An indoor HDTV antenna can be a reasonable starting point for an apartment or home with strong local signals, but it is not a guarantee of reception. A window-facing position, a higher location, or an outdoor antenna may work better in difficult signal conditions. If your local FOX station is weak or unavailable, an antenna will not substitute for an internet stream.
2. Use a paid live-TV streaming service
A cable-replacement streaming service could provide the FOX broadcast if it carried the FOX affiliate serving your address. This route generally involved a recurring subscription, but it could also provide access to other live channels.
There was no single provider that could be presented as universally guaranteed for every viewer. Local FOX availability varies by market and provider contract, and channel lineups, prices, trials, and terms can change. Before subscribing, enter your ZIP code or address on the provider’s channel-availability page and confirm that it carries your specific local FOX station—not merely a national FOX listing.
For future games, compare a live TV streaming service with FOX only after checking the local affiliate, current price, cancellation terms, and whether the service supports the device you plan to use.

Spanish-language ways to watch
FOX Deportes and Telemundo were announced as Spanish-language broadcasters for Super Bowl LIX. Both carried the game live in Spanish in the United States.

Access depended on the viewer’s television provider or streaming package. The announcement does not mean that every free streaming application carried both Spanish feeds. If Spanish commentary was important, check the channel lineup of your provider or package in advance.
What about NFL+?
The NFL listed NFL+ among the digital viewing properties for Super Bowl LIX. It is therefore reasonable to identify NFL+ as an official NFL digital option associated with the event, but the available devices, subscription requirements, geographic rules, and replay access should not be assumed without checking the relevant NFL+ terms for the date and location.
NFL+ should not automatically be described as an identical replacement for Tubi’s free FOX stream. The two services can have different rights, feeds, restrictions, and account requirements.
How to stream a future FOX Super Bowl without cable
For a future Super Bowl, use this checklist rather than relying on the 2025 arrangement:
Best Value
- 4K Ultra HD Resolution: Enjoy your TV in stunning resolution Ultra HD ers four times the resolution of Full HD for greater clarity and detail
- Android TV: With the Android TV operating system you will have access to the best content, download the infinity of applications available through the Google Play Store!
- Voice remote control: Just press the Google Assistant button and ask it to find, play and control content
- Chromecast Built-in: Easily cast movies, shows, and photos from your Android or iOS device to your Android TV
- Easy Setup: Access your Google account and configure the device, language and Wi-Fi network
- Identify the broadcaster. The NFL’s official schedule or broadcaster announcement should confirm whether FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC/ESPN, or another network has the game.
- Check the network’s free-streaming partner. A free app or website may be announced for a specific game, but availability is event-specific unless the network says otherwise.
- Verify your local affiliate. For an antenna or paid live-TV service, confirm that your local station carries the broadcast.
- Check geography. U.S. access rules may not apply in Canada, the United Kingdom, or other countries. International rights are negotiated separately.
- Check the account requirement. “Free” may mean no subscription while still requiring an email account, app, or registration.
- Test before kickoff. Sign in, update the app, confirm the device, and test the connection before the pregame show begins.
- Have a backup. A local antenna, official app, or another legitimate viewing route can help if one stream fails.
Connecting a laptop stream to a television
You do not need extra hardware if your television supports the official streaming app. If you are watching in a laptop browser, however, you may be able to connect the computer to the television with a laptop-to-TV HDMI cable, provided the laptop and television have compatible ports.
This is only an optional display accessory. It does not create access to a broadcast, improve a weak internet connection, bypass regional restrictions, or guarantee 4K. Use the official stream and confirm that your television is set to the correct HDMI input.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Searching for a current Super Bowl LIX live stream: the Eagles–Chiefs game ended on February 9, 2025.
- Assuming Tubi’s 2025 arrangement is permanent: FOX and Tubi can make separate arrangements for particular games or seasons.
- Buying an antenna without checking reception: an antenna only helps when a usable local signal is available.
- Assuming every paid service carries FOX: local affiliate agreements differ by market.
- Confusing a national network with a local station: confirm the actual FOX affiliate serving your address.
- Expecting every device to receive 4K: FOX’s reported 4K delivery did not guarantee 4K on every television, app, or connection.
- Using unofficial streams: they can be unstable, misleading, unsafe, or removed during the broadcast. Prefer the broadcaster, NFL, or authorized streaming platform.

Bottom line: For the original U.S. broadcast of Super Bowl LIX, Tubi was the simplest free online route after email account registration. FOX was also available through a local antenna or a paid live-TV service carrying the viewer’s local FOX affiliate, while FOX Deportes and Telemundo offered Spanish-language coverage. The game is no longer live, and future Super Bowl streaming rights must be checked separately.
