Indiana vs. Miami is no longer a live game: the CFP National Championship was played on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. ET. ESPN carried the U.S. telecast. At the time, the best reported no-cost way to watch live was an eligible five-day trial from DIRECTV or Fubo—not an unrestricted free ESPN stream. This guide records those event-date options and does not promise that their offers remain available.
The No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers and No. 10 Miami Hurricanes met at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Indiana won the championship. The information below describes the original U.S. live-viewing options; it may also help you identify services or coverage to check for replays and highlights, but a full-game replay is not guaranteed. Where the game aired
ESPN carried the main U.S. broadcast. The network’s CFP MegaCast included alternate presentations, but access depended on the viewer’s TV provider, package, and account:

What “free” meant for the live game
The reported no-cost routes were time-limited trials from live-TV streaming services that carried ESPN. They were for eligible new subscribers, generally required payment details, and could convert to paid subscriptions after the trial. Existing cable or live-TV subscribers whose plan already included ESPN could watch without a new purchase, but that was not free service overall.
- DIRECTV: A five-day free trial was reported for eligible new subscribers.
- Fubo: A five-day free trial was reported for eligible new subscribers on a participating plan.
- Sling TV: The reported offers were paid passes or discounts, not a free trial.
- ESPN direct streaming: A paid subscription, not a free option.

How to avoid a trial surprise
- Enter your ZIP code and confirm the selected plan includes ESPN before enrolling.
- Read the trial length, renewal date, price after the trial, and cancellation policy before submitting payment information.
- Sign up early enough to verify your account, install the provider app, and test playback.
- Open the provider’s channel guide and select ESPN; do not assume the channel is included in every plan.
- If you do not want a paid subscription, cancel before the stated renewal deadline and save the confirmation or a screenshot.
- Check whether cancellation ends access immediately. Depending on the provider’s terms, you may lose access before the trial period would otherwise end.

For the original one-game viewing need, an eligible trial was the strongest reported no-cost option; a short Sling pass was a paid alternative. A direct ESPN subscription or a broader live-TV service made more sense for viewers who wanted continuing programming rather than just this game. YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV were also listed among services carrying ESPN, but neither is established here as a free or cheapest single-game option. Could you watch with an antenna or ESPN+?
An antenna alone was not a reliable legal way to receive this game: the main broadcast was on ESPN, and the cited event coverage did not establish an over-the-air simulcast. An antenna does not ordinarily receive ESPN, a pay-TV network.
Do not assume that an ESPN+ subscription is the same as access to ESPN’s main live channel. The event-date reports described separate paid ESPN streaming tiers; check the current ESPN plan description and event or replay listing before subscribing. Radio, Canada, and other locations
Audio coverage
SiriusXM carried audio coverage on channels 81 and 84, with separate Miami and Indiana broadcasts. This was a listening option, not a free video stream; check current SiriusXM access requirements. The reported radio details were for the January 2026 event.
Viewers outside the United States
The streaming options above are U.S.-specific. Canadian coverage was reported on TSN1/4, TSN.ca, and the TSN app. Rights, blackouts, and service availability differ elsewhere, so U.S. providers and trials should not be assumed to work internationally. If streaming access failed
- Confirm the active plan includes ESPN and that ESPN appears in the provider’s guide for your ZIP code.
- Try the provider’s own ESPN channel page or guide before opening the ESPN app; an account may need linking before app access works.
- If a TV app is unsupported or misbehaving, try a supported browser or another device, then restart the app and device.
- Check that you are signed into the correct account and test another network if playback fails.
- Travel, VPN use, authentication problems, ad blockers, and overloaded Wi-Fi can interfere with playback or location checks.
- Contact the provider if access is still missing; repeatedly signing up for new trials may not fix an account or plan issue.
