You can use a YouTube stream key in Streamlabs Mobile by adding YouTube as a Custom RTMP destination, then selecting that destination when you go live. This lets your phone send a camera or screen broadcast to YouTube; it does not make the phone workflow an unattended 24/7 streaming system. For a continuous channel, use an encoder or cloud service designed to keep a stream running.
Before you start: check YouTube live access
- Your channel must be verified and eligible to livestream. YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, and a recent live-streaming restriction can prevent access. Check eligibility before a scheduled broadcast. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the requirements.
- Install and sign in to Streamlabs Mobile on your phone. Streamlabs documents mobile broadcasting from iOS and Android, with options to stream a phone camera or screen. Its app instructions can change as the interface is updated. Streamlabs Mobile guide
- Use a reliable internet connection and keep the phone powered during a mobile broadcast. A phone-based stream depends on the device, its network connection, and the app remaining active.
Find the YouTube stream URL and key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
- Create a stream or select the event you intend to broadcast.
- Open the stream settings and copy the stream URL and stream key. YouTube describes the key as the credential an encoder uses to send video to the correct channel and ingest point. Manage live stream settings
- Keep the key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the saved key in Streamlabs or any other encoder using it.
Add the key to Streamlabs Mobile with Custom RTMP
- Open Streamlabs Mobile and open the app menu.
- Go to Account Settings, then choose Custom RTMP Server setup. The published Streamlabs guide uses these labels; they may differ if the app interface changes. Streamlabs Custom RTMP instructions
- Enter a platform label you will recognize, such as “YouTube,” along with the YouTube stream URL and stream key you copied from Live Control Room.
- Save the destination. When you are ready to broadcast, start the Go Live workflow and select the saved Custom RTMP destination.
- Confirm that YouTube receives the feed in Live Control Room before making the broadcast public.
For an event-based broadcast, you can also connect your YouTube account through Streamlabs’ native YouTube workflow rather than entering a key manually. Streamlabs documents starting an event, scheduling one, or choosing an active event in its YouTube-from-phone guide. Use Custom RTMP when you specifically need to enter YouTube’s ingest URL and key yourself.
Test the picture, sound, and connection
- Start with a private or unlisted test broadcast. Check that YouTube shows the incoming video and audio before sharing a public link.
- Test representative movement and sound, not just a static preview. For documentary material, check dialogue levels, music, transitions, and any long quiet sections.
- Choose resolution and bitrate for the actual upload connection and the YouTube settings you plan to use. There is no single bitrate that fits every connection or resolution. See YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
- Monitor stream health during the broadcast. A live timer in Streamlabs alone does not prove that YouTube is receiving or showing the stream.
Can Streamlabs Mobile run an always-on YouTube channel?
Do not rely on Streamlabs Mobile as an unattended 24/7 channel solution. Streamlabs documents a phone-based camera or screen broadcast, but its mobile guidance does not promise continuous operation or round-the-clock uptime. A mobile stream depends on the phone and its active network and power conditions. YouTube describes 24/7 continuous streaming as a use case for encoder products and services, which is a different requirement from going live from a phone. YouTube’s encoder guidance
When choosing a continuous-stream setup, check that it supports the source you need—live camera, prerecorded looping video, or both—and verify its recovery behavior, scheduling controls, monitoring, quality options, and costs. YouTube’s stream settings include auto-start and auto-stop controls, but those controls do not by themselves make a phone-based workflow continuously available. YouTube live stream settings

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Troubleshooting
YouTube does not show the stream
- Confirm that the correct stream is selected in YouTube Live Control Room and that Streamlabs is using that stream’s URL and key.
- Check whether the broadcast is still waiting for YouTube to receive an encoder feed. Review the preview and stream-health indicators in Live Control Room.
- If the key was reset or changed, update the saved Custom RTMP destination in Streamlabs.
Streamlabs says live, but YouTube is not live
The app’s live status and the platform’s receipt are not the same thing. Check YouTube’s preview and stream health first. Streamlabs has documented a version-sensitive issue in which its mobile app could appear live while the platform was not receiving the stream; consult its current mobile connectivity issue notice before trying an older workaround.
The stream drops or becomes unstable
- Check the phone’s internet connection and available power, then retest at a bitrate suited to the connection’s sustained upload capacity.
- Reduce output demands if the connection cannot maintain the selected resolution and bitrate, and check YouTube’s current encoder recommendations rather than assuming the highest setting is always best.
- For an unattended channel, switch to an encoder or service built for continuous operation instead of expecting the phone app to recover indefinitely.
The key may have been exposed
Reset it in YouTube Live Control Room, then update Streamlabs with the replacement. Do not share screenshots or configuration details that reveal the key.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Or let it run in the cloud
