Start with Apple Music’s built-in transfer tool if Amazon Music appears in its supported-services list. If it does not, use a third-party migration service.
What “transferring” Amazon Music actually means
A migration service reads library information—such as track titles, artists, albums and playlists—and looks for corresponding catalog entries in Apple Music. It recreates library items; it does not move the underlying streaming audio from Amazon to Apple. Apple says its transfer feature is provided by a third party, and availability varies by country or region. Apple’s transfer requirements and overview explain the supported-services approach.
- Potentially transferable: supported playlists, songs, albums and, depending on the source and transfer method, liked or favorite tracks. Apple may place transferred liked songs in a Favorite Songs playlist.
- Not guaranteed: followed artists, every Amazon playlist or favorite, or any item that is absent from Apple Music’s catalog. What can be selected depends on the source service, region and transfer method.
- Separate from streaming migration: Amazon Music downloads, music you bought, local MP3 or FLAC files, podcasts, audiobooks and music videos. Do not assume these become Apple Music items automatically.
If you have music files stored on a computer, handle those through a separate local-library import process. That is different from matching a streaming playlist to Apple Music.
Before you start
- An active Apple Music subscription and the Apple Account associated with it.
- Access to the Amazon Music account whose library you want to copy.
- A current Apple Music app on a supported device, or a browser for music.apple.com.
- Sync Library enabled, as required by Apple’s documented workflow.
- A reliable internet connection and time to review any unmatched or questionable tracks.
Apple’s iPhone guide describes the documented workflow for iOS 18.4 or later; app labels and requirements can change. Check Apple’s current instructions if your screen differs. Apple’s iPhone transfer guide also explains the review process.

Use Apple Music’s built-in transfer tool first
Apple’s transfer interface does not guarantee that Amazon Music will appear for every account. Check the live list in your own Apple Music app or on the web. If Amazon Music is listed, this is the most direct route and avoids connecting a separate migration vendor.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open Apple Music and sign in to the Apple Account with the active subscription.
- Enable Sync Library if it is not already on. On iPhone, the setting is under Settings → Apps → Music → Sync Library; labels may differ by iOS version.
- In Apple Music, tap your account photo, profile icon or monogram, then choose Transfer Music from Other Services.
- Select Amazon Music if it appears, then sign in and authorize access to that account.
- Choose all available content or select specific items, then tap Add to Library.
- Wait for Apple Music to match the selections. If it says some music needs review, open the review screen and resolve those items before finishing.
On Android
- Open the Apple Music app and confirm that you are signed in to the correct Apple Account.
- Open the app’s More menu, go to Settings, and choose Transfer Music from Other Music Services.
- Select Amazon Music if listed, sign in to Amazon, choose the items to copy and tap Add to Library.
- Review alternate or unavailable matches if Apple Music presents them.
The exact Android menu path can vary with the app build. If you cannot find the transfer option, try the web workflow below and confirm that Sync Library is enabled.
On the web
- Go to music.apple.com and sign in.
- Click My Account (your photo or monogram), then choose Transfer Music.
- Select Amazon Music if it appears, sign in to Amazon and select the available library items or playlists.
- Click Add to Library and let Apple Music perform its catalog matches.
- If prompted, click Review Now or Review Current Transfer to resolve uncertain matches.
Apple’s web guide says an unfinished review can be resumed for up to 30 days; a new transfer may be blocked until the earlier review is completed. See Apple Music’s web transfer instructions.

Review missing and incorrectly matched tracks
A transfer marked complete does not necessarily mean every source item found the right Apple Music recording. Catalog matches can differ by edition, region or metadata. Where Apple offers alternatives, compare them rather than accepting a plausible-looking title without checking.
- Compare the artist, album, duration and track number.
- Check original versus remastered, studio versus live, explicit versus clean, and standard versus deluxe versions.
- Watch for a single version substituted for an album version, or a compilation or soundtrack recording substituted for the original release.
- Use Apple’s alternate-match suggestions when available; choose the correct version or select Ignore for an item you do not want. Items with no alternatives may be listed as unavailable.
Common reasons for a miss include regional catalog restrictions, a release being removed or replaced, an Amazon-exclusive recording, different artist or album metadata, duplicate or ambiguous playlist entries, and an item that is a video rather than an audio track. If the transfer tool does not offer a suitable match, search Apple Music manually by exact title and artist, then try the album name, track number or version label.
If Amazon Music is not listed: choose a fallback
Third-party tools can connect to both services and recreate supported items in Apple Music. They still match catalog entries rather than transfer audio files. Use the official service domain or official App Store listing, review requested account permissions, and disconnect access afterward if the service offers that control.

Keep the Amazon library until you verify Apple Music
Apple says its documented transfer does not remove anything from the other music service. Treat the migration as a copy, but keep Amazon Music active until you have checked the Apple Music result. For a small transfer, open each playlist and spot-check the tracks. For a large one, start with your most important playlists and retain any missing-item report.
- Confirm playlist names and track counts; look for duplicate playlists after repeated attempts.
- Check a representative mix of obscure, international, live, explicit and favorite tracks.
- Verify that important songs are the intended recordings, not merely similar titles.
- Remember that Amazon downloads and local files are separate from catalog matches; check and handle them independently.
- Do not repeatedly import the same playlist without checking whether the tool creates a new playlist or adds to an existing one.
Troubleshooting common transfer problems
The transfer option or Amazon Music is missing
Confirm you are signed in to the Apple Account with an active Apple Music subscription and that Sync Library is enabled. Update the app or try the web interface. Apple’s availability varies by region, so Amazon Music not appearing may reflect service availability rather than a mistake in your account. If it remains absent, use a supported third-party route.
Amazon sign-in fails
- Check the Amazon credentials and complete any two-factor authentication prompt in the same browser or app session.
- Try a current browser and allow the official sign-in flow to open; browser privacy settings or pop-up blocking can interrupt authorization.
- If the login page behaves unexpectedly, stop rather than repeatedly submitting credentials. Try Apple’s built-in route or another provider.
- Temporary service issues or regional account restrictions can also interrupt access; a failed connection by itself does not mean the library is damaged.
Tracks are missing or the wrong recording was added
Check Apple’s review screen or the third-party transfer report. Search manually using the title and artist, then narrow by album, track number, original artist name or a version term such as “live” or “remastered.” If the recording is not available in your Apple Music catalog, it cannot be recreated as a streaming-library match there.
The transfer seems complete but the library is incomplete
Check whether the tool transferred only selected categories or playlists, whether a review remains unfinished, and whether the Apple Music library has finished syncing to your devices. Compare the source playlist with the destination and handle high-priority items first; a completion notice is not proof that every source item matched.
