On a desktop browser, keep the current YouTube radio video open and add the videos you want to hear next to the queue: choose More beside a video, then Add to queue. YouTube says queueing sets up videos to watch next without interrupting the current watch session. It does not guarantee a zero-gap transition for every radio stream, device, or account.
Queue the next videos on desktop

Leave the currently playing radio video open.

Find a video you want to hear after it. Beside its title, select More, then Add to queue. You can also hover over a video and choose Add to queue.

Repeat for other videos, adding them in the order you want them to play. To move from a radio stream to music from a particular playlist, add the specific videos you want next; YouTube’s instructions explain queueing videos, not replacing a radio stream with an entire playlist in one uninterrupted action.

Keep the queue after closing the browser
A desktop queue is not saved when you close the browser. To keep it, open the queue’s More menu and choose Save to playlist, then select an existing playlist or create one.
Queue videos on a phone or tablet
YouTube’s current instructions require YouTube Premium to queue videos on mobile devices and tablets. While signed in to the Premium account, find a video, open More, and choose Play next in queue or Play last in queue. Use the queue’s More menu to save it to a playlist if you want to keep it. Queue, Autoplay, and background playback are different

Why playback may still pause during a long session
YouTube also describes a “Continue watching?” prompt that can appear during Autoplay sessions: before 30 minutes on mobile, 60 minutes on web, or 180 minutes on TV. Those are the prompt thresholds described in YouTube Help on the “Continue watching?” prompt, not a maximum duration guaranteed for every kind of playback.

What to do if the switch does not work as expected

The current radio stops when you try to select something else: On desktop, add the next video using More > Add to queue instead of navigating away from the current video.

You cannot find queue controls on mobile: YouTube’s instructions require Premium for queueing on phones and tablets. Check that you are signed in to the Premium account and that the app shows the current queue options.

Your chosen sequence disappears after closing the browser: Save the desktop queue to a playlist before closing, using the queue’s More > Save to playlist menu.

Playback pauses with the screen off: Queueing is separate from background playback. YouTube says background playback in its mobile apps requires Premium; check the background-play setting and its available options.

Autoplay starts something you did not choose: Autoplay selects related content, unlike a queue you build yourself. Review Autoplay settings on that device.
