IRL Pro’s documented workflow sends a live feed from your phone to a streaming destination over RTMP or SRT; the available instructions do not establish that it can play or loop a playlist of prerecorded videos. If you mean a live phone camera, you can configure a YouTube stream and plan its vertical layout before going live. If you mean prerecorded clips, you will need a separately verified playback-and-encoding workflow rather than assuming IRL Pro handles playlists.
First, identify which kind of stream you want
- Live phone video: IRL Pro is described as an Android app for sending a live feed using RTMP or SRT. YouTube’s Live Control Room can provide a vertical viewing format, but IRL Pro’s ability to produce native 9:16 output on your particular device is not established.
- A prerecorded video playlist: The consulted IRL Pro instructions do not document importing, scheduling, or looping prerecorded clips. Do not treat a camera-streaming setup as proof that playlist playback will work.
The steps below cover the supported live-feed path and YouTube’s vertical-stream settings. They do not turn IRL Pro into a verified playlist player.
Set up a vertical YouTube stream from a live phone feed
1. Check the channel and choose the right route
YouTube’s mobile-app route for going live on an Android phone has specific eligibility requirements: a verified channel, at least 50 subscribers, no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and Android 8.0 or newer. First-time mobile live streaming may take up to 24 hours to activate. These are requirements for YouTube’s mobile route; they should not be assumed to be the requirements for an encoder workflow using a stream key. See YouTube’s mobile live-streaming eligibility guidance.
2. Create or schedule the event in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and set its title, privacy, and other event details.
- For an encoder-based stream, open the event’s stream settings and copy YouTube’s Live server URL and stream key into the encoder workflow. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain this process.
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, show it on screen, or send it to anyone who does not need access. Use the key associated with the intended event.
3. Configure the vertical layout before starting
YouTube says Live Control Room streams default to horizontal 16:9 and vertical 9:16 together. In the scheduled stream’s vertical preview, you can edit the vertical layout using centre crop, fit to phone width, or stacked, then adjust zoom and position. Set this up before going live: YouTube states that “You can’t add the vertical format once the stream has started.” See YouTube’s guidance for vertical live streams.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
These layout controls are YouTube features, not proof that IRL Pro can create a portrait camera feed. Verify what the app and your device actually send in a private test before announcing a vertical event.
4. Connect IRL Pro only when using a compatible ingest workflow
If you are using Enhanced IRL as an intermediary stream-key service, follow that service’s instructions rather than treating its ingest address as YouTube’s server URL. Enhanced IRL’s IRL Pro setup guide says to choose RTMP or SRT in its dashboard, copy the full publish URL, select the same protocol in IRL Pro, paste the URL, and set resolution, frame rate, and bitrate within the key’s cap. Start broadcasting and check that the service receives a live signal. Its guide describes IRL Pro using RTMP or SRT over one connection, not bonding.

This is a third-party intermediary workflow. Its publish URL is not interchangeable with YouTube’s Live server URL, and the guide’s plan limits are specific to Enhanced IRL rather than universal YouTube limits.
Test the framing and stream before making it public
- Set the event to unlisted for a test. YouTube recommends checking mobile audio and video with an unlisted stream and checking network strength.
- Open the stream on a phone and confirm that the vertical view is framed as intended. Check faces, captions, signs, and other important details near the edges; cropping can remove them.
- Listen for clear audio and check for clipping, wind, or excessive background noise. YouTube suggests useful filming accessories such as a tripod or external microphone where appropriate; neither is required for every setup.
- Test the connection from the place you plan to stream. If the phone will move, check stability along the route rather than relying only on a test beside a router.
- Only after the preview behaves as expected should you switch to the intended privacy setting and share the event.
What viewers see in YouTube’s vertical and dual-format streams
YouTube says vertical live streams open in a full-screen mobile viewing experience, and viewers may discover them while browsing Shorts. For a Live Control Room dual-format stream, subscribers receive one go-live notification and a shared stream URL; mobile viewers coming from the Shorts feed see the vertical version, while other viewers see horizontal. YouTube says the same live chat is used for both formats. Combined metrics are available during and after the stream, while vertical-only metrics become available 24 hours later. These are YouTube platform behaviors, not features supplied by IRL Pro. Details are in YouTube’s vertical live-stream documentation.

Can IRL Pro stream a playlist of prerecorded videos?
The available IRL Pro instructions establish live-feed encoding and delivery, not playlist playout. They do not show how to import clips, set their order, loop them, or output a playlist as a live program. A prerecorded playlist may require separate playout and encoding software or a cloud service, but the sources here do not establish which specific setup will work. Confirm that the chosen tool can play the files and deliver the required YouTube stream before relying on it for an event.
Likewise, IRL Pro’s portrait-output capability is unresolved. A Google Play review posted August 16, 2026 reports difficulty finding portrait mode or streaming only in landscape; that is one user’s report, not authoritative confirmation that portrait output is unavailable. The app listing’s last-update date is September 18, 2024, which is not proof that no later feature changes occurred. Check the current app version and your device rather than treating either point as definitive.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
The vertical option or preview is missing
Check that the vertical layout was configured in the scheduled stream before it started. YouTube says vertical format cannot be added after the stream begins. If the event is already live, make a new test or scheduled event and configure the layout beforehand. If the question is whether IRL Pro itself outputs portrait video, verify that separately in the current app and on the target device.
The stream does not appear at the intermediary service
Confirm that IRL Pro is using the same protocol selected in the Enhanced IRL dashboard and that the complete publish URL was pasted correctly. If the key’s region or protocol changed, or the key was rotated, Enhanced IRL says the old URL is invalid; copy the current URL and replace the one in the app.

Video becomes unstable while moving
Enhanced IRL recommends SRT rather than RTMP for street-level, single-SIM broadcasting and advises lowering bitrate if SRT remains unstable. This is that guide publisher’s recommendation, not a guarantee: connection quality varies by route and carrier. Test where you intend to stream and reduce bitrate if the feed cannot sustain it.
The bitrate exceeds the configured key’s limit
Keep the app’s bitrate within the cap for the specific Enhanced IRL plan. Its guide lists 9,000 kbps for Stream Key Lite and Stream Key, 6,000 kbps for OBS Basic and Standard, and 10,000 kbps for OBS Pro. Those are Enhanced IRL plan values, not YouTube-wide limits. The guide suggests starting at half the cap while moving and increasing only if bitrate stays stable on a test route.
The stream is live but the picture or sound is poor
Check the unlisted preview on a phone, test network strength, and inspect framing and audio before the public event. Stabilize the phone with a suitable tripod or mount if the shot is stationary; consider a phone-compatible external microphone when the environment is loud. These accessories are optional and should match the device and shooting conditions.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream of uploaded videos rather than a live phone camera, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a live camera. Nothing has to stay on at home, it streams the upload as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and it can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
