To stream recorded physics lessons around the clock, send a prerecorded lesson program to YouTube Live through an encoder and configure the encoder or playout workflow to repeat the lessons. YouTube provides the live broadcast and incoming video feed; the looping schedule is your setup to manage, not a built-in YouTube playlist feature established by its guidance. First confirm the channel can go live, then connect and test the feed before relying on it.

How YouTube treats a 24/7 lesson feed

YouTube distinguishes the viewer-facing live broadcast from the stream: the broadcast is the live video page, and the stream is the audio-video feed delivered to YouTube. Google for Developers describes broadcasts as distinct videos bound to streams, including a 24/7 feed scenario. That architecture supports continuous live viewing, but it does not by itself create a playlist loop. Configure the lesson order, repeat behavior, and transitions in the chosen encoder or playout workflow.

This is a broadcast of prerecorded material, not a camera lesson going live. You still need software or hardware that sends the video and audio as a live feed.

Prepare the channel and lesson program

Check live-stream eligibility

  1. Open YouTube Studio and confirm that live streaming is enabled for the channel. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this before your intended launch.
  2. Confirm the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, as stated in YouTube’s live-streaming guidance. Check the channel’s current status in Studio because account conditions and platform requirements can change.

See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance for the current account requirements.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Choose how to play the recordings

Use an encoder or playout system that can send prerecorded files continuously and repeat them in the intended order. YouTube supports software encoders as well as standalone hardware encoders; dedicated hardware is optional. YouTube’s verified encoder list is a starting point for comparing options, not a guarantee that a particular setup will loop indefinitely or recover from every failure.

Before loading a full lesson library, decide how lessons should rotate, whether the sequence repeats, and what happens if a file fails to play. Those behaviors depend on the selected workflow; the YouTube guidance cited here does not specify a universal looping configuration.

Connect the encoder to YouTube Live

  1. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the current Live Control Room flow.
  2. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream into the encoder’s YouTube connection fields. YouTube describes the stream key as the encoder’s password and address for delivering the feed. Treat it as a credential: do not publish it, include it in screenshots, or leave it in public notes. If exposed, replace or reset it in Studio.
  3. Set the encoder to send the lesson program to that YouTube destination. Preview the incoming feed in Live Control Room and start the broadcast only after confirming video and audio are correct.

Follow the current YouTube encoder setup instructions for the exact Studio labels and connection flow.

Set video, audio, and network parameters

YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate encoding, frame rates up to 60 fps, and a keyframe interval of two seconds; it says the interval should not exceed four seconds. The suitable resolution and bitrate depend on your intended output and available upload capacity. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings table for the exact resolution/bitrate pairing rather than copying a generic maximum.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
  • Transport: Prefer RTMPS when supported by the encoder. It is YouTube’s recommended secure RTMP-based route.
  • Codec: Use a codec supported by both your encoder and the selected YouTube ingest settings; YouTube’s guidance documents H.264, H.265, and AV1 options for RTMP/RTMPS.
  • Bitrate mode: Configure constant bitrate as recommended by YouTube. Ensure the connection can sustain the selected bitrate rather than merely reaching it in brief speed tests.
  • Keyframes: Set a two-second interval where the encoder allows it; do not exceed four seconds under YouTube’s recommendation.
  • Frame rate: Choose a rate appropriate to the recordings and output, up to 60 fps as supported in YouTube’s guidance.
  • Audio: Test the lesson’s speech and any accompanying music at the actual output level. Confirm the encoder is sending the intended audio track and that it is not muted or distorted.

YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. Count other traffic using the same connection, and if using backup ingestion, account for both primary and backup bitrates. Shared networks can reduce available upload capacity, and an interruption can break the stream. Details are in YouTube’s network and encoder tips.

Test the stream and monitor it

  1. Run a test with representative lesson footage, including the busiest visuals and the loudest expected audio. A static title card alone will not reveal every playback or synchronization problem.
  2. Check the Live Control Room preview before going live. Verify that the picture is stable, speech is audible and in sync, and the correct lesson is playing.
  3. Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators during the test and after launch. Check again after changing bitrate, resolution, or network conditions.
  4. Keep a way to inspect the encoder and its source files. Confirm the loop advances as intended rather than assuming YouTube is managing lesson rotation.

Plan lesson replays separately from the continuous feed

YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single around-the-clock feed exceeds that duration, so do not assume it will produce a complete replay archive. The cited guidance does not establish a dependable alternative archive workflow for longer streams. If students need lesson-by-lesson playback, plan a separate publishing or preservation workflow for the individual recordings rather than relying on the continuous live page.

YouTube also documents HLS ingestion, but says it has higher latency than RTMP because video is sent in segments. For passive recorded lessons, RTMPS is the straightforward recommended route unless the chosen encoder or format requires HLS. See YouTube’s HLS ingestion guidance.

Common problems and fixes

Symptom Likely cause What to check
Encoder cannot connect Incorrect server URL or stream key, live streaming not enabled, or an encoder destination mismatch. Recheck the current connection details in Studio, confirm the channel is enabled, and verify the encoder is using the intended YouTube destination.
Feed is unstable or drops Insufficient sustained upload capacity, competing network traffic, or a network disruption. Reduce output bitrate to a suitable setting from YouTube’s table, restore the recommended upload headroom, and check for other traffic on the connection.
Video quality is poor or health warnings appear Resolution/bitrate mismatch, variable bitrate behavior, or settings beyond the available connection. Use the current YouTube settings table, constant bitrate, and the recommended keyframe interval; test again while monitoring stream health.
No audio, wrong lesson, or unexpected gaps Wrong audio track, a source-file issue, or loop/playlist configuration in the playback workflow. Inspect the encoder’s active source and playlist order, test the affected file, and verify audio in the Live Control Room preview.
No complete replay after the continuous broadcast The feed ran longer than YouTube’s stated under-12-hour automatic archive condition. Do not rely on the live broadcast as the lesson archive; maintain a separate workflow for individual lesson playback or preservation.
