You can broadcast recorded diploma lessons as a YouTube Live stream by sending a playlist from a software encoder, standalone hardware encoder, or cloud looping service to YouTube Studio using the stream’s server URL and stream key. For a continuous channel, plan for an always-on playback source, stable upload bandwidth, monitoring, and valid rights to every element in the lessons. YouTube’s general workflow applies here; the available guidance does not establish India-specific service availability or regulatory requirements.
How do I stream recorded videos on YouTube Live 24/7?
Choose how the recorded lessons will play and reach YouTube. YouTube supports encoder software and standalone hardware; its encoder guidance also lists cloud services, including Gyre, as examples for streaming prerecorded video. That listing is not an endorsement. For a 24/7 schedule, the key practical difference is whether playback depends on equipment and a connection at your premises or runs through a cloud service.
| Approach | Does a dedicated computer need to stay on? | Setup and maintenance | Recovery and production control | Cost, availability, and archive fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a local computer | Yes. The computer, encoder, source files, and network connection must remain available for the stream to continue. | You configure the encoder and playlist, keep the system running, and handle updates or failures. | Gives you direct control over the encoder and production settings. Recovery after a computer, application, or connection interruption depends on your setup and operator. | Software and hardware costs vary; no India-specific pricing is established here. If saved archives matter, plan separate stream sessions or a separate recording workflow rather than assuming one 24-hour stream will be archived in full. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | A dedicated computer may not be needed, but the encoder and source/playback arrangement still need power and a network connection. | Requires configuring and maintaining the hardware and lesson source. | Can support a more controlled production setup. YouTube recommends professional-grade encoders for higher-production-value events, not as a requirement for every creator. Recovery depends on the equipment and operating plan. | Specific models, India pricing, and local availability have not been established. Archive planning is still necessary. |
| Cloud looping service | No local playback computer needs to stay on for cloud playback; the service handles the uploaded video loop. | Upload lessons and configure the playlist and YouTube connection in the service. | Production controls and recovery behavior vary by provider; confirm the capabilities you need before relying on a service. | Availability and pricing depend on the provider and region. Check whether the service’s workflow meets your archive requirements. |
There is no universal best encoder: software suits creators who want hands-on control and can keep a machine running; hardware can suit a dedicated production setup; cloud looping suits those who do not want local playback equipment running continuously. YouTube’s guidance does not establish a tested reliability comparison or recommend a particular model for India.
What do I need to stream recorded lessons continuously?
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible to live stream.
- The lesson videos and a playback plan, such as a playlist that repeats.
- An encoder or cloud-based looping service, plus YouTube Studio’s server URL and stream key.
- A reliable upload connection with bandwidth headroom. YouTube’s current streaming tips recommend leaving 20% upload bandwidth headroom.
- A plan to monitor the live output and handle interruptions.
- Permission to stream and archive all lesson video, audio, images, and embedded third-party material.
Prepare and enable your YouTube channel
YouTube’s current live-stream help documentation, accessed in 2026, says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Its getting-started guidance states that the minimum age to live stream is 16.

- Before scheduling a continuous broadcast, confirm that YouTube Studio lets the channel create and manage a live stream.
These are YouTube’s general requirements, not India-specific eligibility advice. The sources reviewed do not establish additional India-specific rules or service availability.
Create the live stream and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and choose the encoder workflow.
- In the stream settings, copy the server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder or cloud service.
- Set the encoder’s input to the recorded lesson or repeating playlist. Confirm that the intended lesson order and audio are correct before starting.
- Start the encoder or cloud playback so it sends a feed to YouTube.
- Open the Live Control Room preview and check that both video and audio arrive as expected before you make the stream public or otherwise begin the intended broadcast.
Treat the stream key like a password: YouTube describes it as the credential and destination information that tells the encoder where to send the feed. Do not share it publicly. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder with the new key.

Keep the broadcast running and plan for archives
A continuous stream is only as dependable as its playback source, encoder or service, power, and internet connection. YouTube’s current streaming tips recommend leaving 20% upload bandwidth headroom; avoid saturating the connection with other uploads or traffic. Keep the Live Control Room available to inspect the feed, and check that the lessons remain audible and visible after startup and during operation.
On its encoder setup page, YouTube states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” This does not guarantee that a 24-hour live stream will be saved in full. The guidance cited here does not explain every 24/7 archive case, so do not rely on a single continuous stream as the only copy of a full day’s lessons. If a saved recording matters, plan stream breaks or make a separate recording of the source material.

Can I loop my recorded classes on YouTube?
Technically, a repeating playlist can be sent to YouTube Live through an encoder or a cloud looping service. Whether you should loop a class depends on the purpose and the content: make clear to students that the broadcast is prerecorded, check that its schedule and lesson sequence are useful, and ensure the stream does not imply live interaction that is not happening.
Before looping, confirm that you have rights to every part of the stream, including music, images, clips, slides, and third-party material inside a lesson. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. A match may interrupt the stream. Even when you have a licence, YouTube says the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel for the stream to avoid interruption.

YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content on Google services, including applicable music licensing rights. This is a statement of the platform’s terms, not an India-specific legal analysis. Check your licences and applicable requirements for the territories where your content is available.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Will YouTube save a 24-hour live stream?
Do not assume it will. YouTube’s encoder documentation specifically says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not promise that a single 24-hour broadcast will be archived in full. If you need a durable archive of every lesson, keep the original files and arrange separate recordings or planned shorter live sessions rather than relying on a single all-day archive.

What looping lessons means for monetization
Live streams are subject to YouTube’s channel monetization policies. YouTube’s inauthentic-content policy covers repetitive or mass-produced content and applies to live streams, so looping lessons does not guarantee monetization. A creator should not assume that continuous broadcasting or watch time alone will produce revenue; eligibility depends on the channel and content meeting YouTube’s policies.
Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream | The channel is unverified, restricted, or live streaming has not finished enabling. | Verify the channel, check for a restriction in the prior 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| YouTube receives no encoder feed | The server URL or stream key is missing, mistyped, or outdated, or the encoder has not started sending. | Copy the current values from YouTube Studio into the matching encoder fields, then restart the feed and inspect the Live Control Room preview. |
| The stream stops or becomes unstable | The local machine, encoder, power, network, or cloud service may have interrupted playback; the connection may lack upload headroom. | Check the playback source and encoder status, network stability, and available upload capacity. Keep the recommended 20% upload bandwidth headroom and monitor the preview. |
| Video appears but audio is missing or wrong | The source file, playlist item, or encoder audio input may be misconfigured. | Check the lesson’s audio track and encoder input, then verify the sound in the Live Control Room preview before continuing. |
| The live stream is interrupted over a content match | Third-party material was detected, or a rights holder has not allowlisted the channel despite a licence. | Review the matched material and your permissions. Contact the rights holder about channel allowlisting where applicable; do not resume with the same material unless you have the necessary rights. |
| A full-day archive is unavailable | The stream exceeded the documented automatic-archive duration or the archive outcome is not covered by YouTube’s statement. | Use planned shorter sessions or a separate recording workflow when a complete archive is required. |
