To stream a prerecorded commercial property tour continuously on YouTube Live, send the video to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS or a cloud playout service. YouTube Studio supplies the stream URL and key; the encoder plays and loops your footage. An uploaded YouTube video or playlist alone does not become a live broadcast.
For an India-based property owner, broker, or marketing team, the key decisions are where playback runs, who monitors it, whether the stream needs a complete replay, and whether you have the rights and permissions for everything shown and heard.
How do I stream a prerecorded video on YouTube Live?
First confirm livestream access and clear the rights to your footage and audio. Then create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, connect OBS or another playout option with the stream URL and key, preview the feed, and start the broadcast.
1. Check channel access and permissions
- Confirm the channel is verified and permitted to livestream. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming enablement guidance.
- Use tour footage, music, graphics, and other material only when you have the necessary rights for the broadcast. YouTube’s terms make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services, including music licensing rights.
- For a commercial property, confirm authorization from the owner or client and consider permissions for identifiable occupants, staff, signage, artwork, and other recorded material. The sources here do not resolve the legal requirements for a particular property or location in India; seek appropriate local advice where needed.
2. Create the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live stream using an encoder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that event into the encoder. Keep the key private: it authorizes an encoder to send a feed to your channel. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before broadcasting.
- Set up the event ahead of time. In Live Control Room, wait for the incoming feed preview and check that the event appears as expected on the channel or watch page, including on a phone.
3. Configure and preview the video feed
In OBS, add the tour footage as a Media Source and enable its Loop option to repeat a single file. For multiple clips, add a VLC Video Source, load a playlist, and enable Loop Playlist; VLC must be installed for this source to be available. Check the video framing, property labels, audio level, and the transition between the last and first frames. A private or unlisted test can expose a silent track, wrong scene, abrupt loop, or incorrect stream-key setup before the public event. YouTube recommends monitoring picture and sound while live; use Live Control Room health messages and settings appropriate to the selected resolution rather than copying a bitrate from a different setup.
How do I loop a video on YouTube Live?
Looping happens in the encoder or playout service, not in the YouTube upload page. For one local clip in OBS, add a Media Source and turn on Loop. For a sequence of tours, use VLC Video Source with a playlist and Loop Playlist enabled. A cloud playout service can also repeat uploaded videos or playlists.

Make the repeated feed useful to viewers: show clear property names, locations, availability status, and a way to request details. If listings change, update or remove outdated footage so the live presentation does not misrepresent current availability.
Can I run a 24/7 YouTube livestream from OBS?
Yes, OBS can loop a local file or playlist into YouTube Live, but a local setup depends on the computer, source files, OBS, power, and internet connection staying available. A restart, software fault, power loss, or network interruption can stop or degrade the feed. For ingest format errors, YouTube’s guidance identifies H.264 video and AAC audio as required formats. Check the encoder’s output and Live Control Room’s health messages rather than assuming a configuration will work at every resolution. A continuous stream also needs an operator plan: decide who checks picture, sound, and connectivity and what to do if the event drops.

Will a 24-hour YouTube livestream be saved?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not promise a complete replay for a stream lasting 12 hours or longer. Copyright, monetization, and commercial-tour presentation
Copyright can interrupt a live stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A stream may be interrupted or terminated when a match is detected. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the broadcast to proceed without a match-related interruption. Check YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and arrange permissions before going live.
A loop does not guarantee monetization
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams and expect original, authentic work rather than mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative material. A commercial property tour can be legitimate promotional content, but a repeated loop is not guaranteed to qualify for monetization. Keep the property information current
Give viewers enough context to understand what they are seeing: identify the property and location, state availability accurately, and provide a contact route. Remove or replace footage when circumstances change.
