How to Stream Prerecorded Bhajan Videos to YouTube Live with Larix Broadcaster

Larix can publish an encoder feed to YouTube, but direct playback of stored bhajan videos is not confirmed by official documentation. Verify the source workflow before going live.

You can use YouTube Live with an encoder such as Larix Broadcaster, but the key question is whether your current Larix app can play a stored video file as its broadcast source. Softvelum’s official materials describe Broadcaster as an app for capturing and streaming live video and audio; they do not confirm direct prerecorded-file playout. Verify that function on your specific phone, operating system and app version before relying on it. If it is unavailable, you will need a different, separately verified playback-and-encoding workflow.

What Larix Broadcaster can—and cannot be confirmed to do

Larix Broadcaster supports mobile RTMP/RTMPS publishing, and YouTube accepts an encoder feed sent to its server URL with a stream key. Softvelum describes Broadcaster as an app for live video and audio capture and streaming, but the official materials reviewed do not show a confirmed way to select a prerecorded bhajan video and play it directly into the broadcast. Softvelum’s Larix Broadcaster page and its setup documentation establish the encoder connection, not a guaranteed file-playback workflow.

That distinction matters: successfully connecting Larix to YouTube does not prove that Larix can use a saved video—with its original picture and sound—as the input. Check the current app on the exact iOS or Android device you intend to use, and test the complete workflow before announcing a stream. Do not assume the feature is absent on every version; it is simply not established by the cited official documentation.

Screen casting is a separate, uncertain option

Softvelum’s Larix Screencaster is a different app that streams a device screen. It may be worth testing if you can play the video on the phone, but it is not the same as direct file playout through Broadcaster. Mobile operating systems impose restrictions on capturing audio from other apps, so verify both picture and sound on your device before using this route. See Softvelum’s Screencaster information.

Prepare YouTube Live before the event

  1. Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
  2. Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and create or schedule an encoder stream. In Live Control Room, locate the current server URL and stream key in Stream settings. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain that these are the details the encoder needs to connect.
  3. Choose the RTMPS address when available. YouTube recommends the encrypted RTMPS endpoint. In Live Control Room, use the lock icon in Stream settings to reveal the RTMPS URL, then copy the URL shown there rather than relying on an old example. Read YouTube’s RTMPS guidance.
  4. Protect the stream key. Enter the current URL and key only in the encoder you control. YouTube treats the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to that stream. Do not show it in a screen recording, screenshot or public post.

Connect Larix to YouTube

  1. Open the connection settings in Larix Broadcaster. Add or edit a publishing connection and use the RTMPS URL from YouTube if supported. Larix documents a connection URL made from the server/application path and stream key; follow the current format in its connection setup reference.
  2. Use a video-and-audio feed for YouTube. Softvelum’s YouTube example uses video and audio together; its setup notes that YouTube does not accept video-only or audio-only in that configuration. Confirm the selected connection and audio source before starting.
  3. Resolve the input source before going live. Look for a documented file source in your current Larix build or verify the behavior directly on the target phone. If using Screencaster, play the bhajan and test whether its sound is actually captured. If neither route produces clean picture and audio, use a different encoder or playout system only after verifying that workflow separately.

YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 video, frame rates up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval with a four-second maximum. These are ingest options, not a reason to force high settings onto a phone or connection that cannot sustain them. Select settings supported by the encoder and available network, then confirm the result in rehearsal. The current values and details are in YouTube’s encoder settings.

Rehearse, start and end the broadcast

  1. Run an unlisted or private test. Start Larix and wait for the preview in YouTube Live Control Room. Check that the correct bhajan appears and that its audio is audible and synchronized.
  2. Check the viewing experience. Open the watch page from another device, including a phone, and confirm the picture, sound and stream status. YouTube recommends previewing and testing before going live, then monitoring audio and video throughout; see its live-streaming tips.
  3. Begin the public stream only after preview is correct. If the stream is scheduled, click Go live in Live Control Room after the encoder feed is ready.
  4. End deliberately. Stop the encoder and end the stream in YouTube when finished. YouTube automatically archives streams that run for under 12 hours; do not rely on an archive as the sole copy of your source video.

Rights and YouTube rules for bhajan videos

Use a video and recording that you own or have permission to broadcast. Check rights for both the underlying musical composition and the particular sound recording: permission for one does not necessarily cover the other. Religious or devotional subject matter does not by itself establish permission to use a recording.

Live streams must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Review YouTube’s Community Guidelines and its Terms of Service before broadcasting. A successful technical connection does not establish that the content is cleared for use.

Troubleshooting

  • YouTube shows no incoming feed: Check that Larix is publishing to the current server URL and stream key copied from the correct Live Control Room stream. Recheck for accidental spaces or a stale connection, and confirm the feed is started.
  • The stream connects, but no stored video appears: Connection success only confirms an encoder feed. Verify whether this Larix build supports the file as a source; if not, use a separately validated playback-and-encoder method.
  • Picture appears but bhajan audio is missing: Confirm the encoder is sending audio as well as video. For Screencaster, test system audio capture on the specific device and OS; platform restrictions can prevent capture from another app.
  • The preview stutters or drops: Reduce settings to a level the phone and network can sustain, and rehearse again. YouTube’s recommended formats and bitrate mode are not a guarantee that a particular mobile connection can carry them reliably.
  • The channel cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification and live-stream restrictions, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
  • A scheduled stream does not become public: Confirm the preview is ready and use Go live in Live Control Room; starting the encoder alone may not complete the scheduled-stream launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does YouTube Live accept a prerecorded video from an encoder?

YouTube accepts an encoder feed, but the encoder must be able to supply the video and audio. The unresolved part here is whether your current Larix Broadcaster version can play a stored file directly.

Can I use Larix Screencaster instead of Broadcaster?

It is a separate screen-streaming app and may be testable, but screen-audio capture depends on the device and platform. Verify both video and sound before using it for a broadcast.
