Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can broadcast a video recorded earlier as a YouTube Live event by enabling live streaming, creating or scheduling the event in YouTube Studio, and connecting a cloud encoder with the event’s stream URL and key. The cloud service sends the video, so your computer does not have to remain on. You still need to set up and monitor the YouTube event, and confirm that you have rights to the video and all included audio and other material.
What “pre-recorded live” means
The video is recorded before the broadcast, but it is delivered to YouTube through its live-streaming workflow. Viewers encounter it as a live event, not as a standard uploaded video. The encoder or cloud service handles sending the media; YouTube Studio handles the event and its audience-facing controls.
YouTube describes an encoder as a tool that converts video into a digital format for streaming. A cloud encoder performs that sending and processing remotely, but it does not remove the need to configure the YouTube destination and connect the correct stream URL and key.
Choose a workflow
For a creator who wants to keep a pre-recorded YouTube stream running without a computer at home, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot and a free first day.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Option | What the cited documentation establishes | Consider it when |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for looping uploaded videos to YouTube, with playlists and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. It plays uploaded media, not a camera feed. | You want a direct, always-on YouTube workflow without leaving a PC running. |
| Gyre | YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streams, with a built-in video converter. | You want to evaluate continuous looping, conversion, scheduling, or management of multiple streams. Check the current plan for exact limits. |
| Upstream.so | YouTube lists Upstream as a browser-based cloud studio for 24/7 live streaming with YouTube integration. | You prefer a browser-based setup. Check current scheduling, monitoring, and file limits. |
| Restream | YouTube lists Restream among verified encoders; Restream says its workflow supports scheduling recorded videos to go live and documents RTMP setup. | You need to assess its current prerecorded scheduling workflow or whether its multistreaming features fit your needs. |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive | AWS describes a cloud-based broadcast-grade video processing service and documents a CDK use case that creates a channel looping an MP4. | You need configurable cloud infrastructure and have the expertise to configure and operate a channel, inputs, and outputs. |
These options are not interchangeable on the available evidence. Before choosing, compare whether the current plan supports a single scheduled video or playlist looping, upload and storage limits, format conversion, resolution and frame-rate controls, monitoring and recovery, destinations, and total cost. The cited material does not establish a like-for-like current price or plan comparison for Gyre, Upstream, Restream, and AWS.
Prepare YouTube Live and the video
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, start the live-streaming activation process for the channel. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this well before a scheduled broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Check the media and rights. Make sure the selected service accepts the video’s file format, size, duration, and audio configuration. The cited YouTube documentation does not guarantee that every service accepts every file or playlist. Confirm that you have rights to the footage, music, and other included material, and check YouTube’s current policies for your specific use and monetization plans.
- Choose a service and upload or configure the source. For a creator service, follow its current upload and playlist steps. For an AWS implementation, plan the channel, input, processing, and output configuration rather than treating MediaLive as a one-click looping tool; AWS explains its channel workflow at How MediaLive works.
- Create or schedule the YouTube event. In YouTube Studio, create the live stream and set its title, privacy, and schedule. Scheduling lets you promote the event and gives viewers a chance to set reminders. Decide these details before connecting the encoder.
- Copy the destination credentials. In the event’s Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the corresponding destination fields in the cloud service. Treat the key like a password: do not expose it in screenshots or shared documents. If it is disclosed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the service.
- Start the cloud encoder and verify the preview. Start the source or playlist in the service. Confirm that YouTube Live Control Room receives both video and audio. For a scheduled event, YouTube’s instructions say to wait for the preview and then click “Go live” in Live Control Room when you are ready to start the event.
- Monitor and end the broadcast deliberately. Check the YouTube preview and the service’s status during the event. End the broadcast using the relevant service and YouTube controls for your workflow; do not assume that stopping one side always ends the other. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not rely on automatic archiving for a longer stream.
Network and encoding considerations
A cloud encoder sends the stream from its own infrastructure, so your home upload speed is not the stream’s outbound connection. Your connection still matters for uploading source files and managing the service. If you use Restream’s software-based RTMP workflow, its help page recommends at least 10 Mbps upload speed and 25 Mbps or higher for Full HD; these are Restream recommendations, not universal YouTube requirements. See Restream’s streaming-software guide.

There is no single bitrate, resolution, or keyframe value established here for every cloud service and source. Use the current instructions for the chosen encoder and YouTube event, and avoid assuming a setting supported by one product is available in another. If the service can pass through an uploaded file without re-encoding, its output may preserve the file’s settings; if it transcodes, configure the output in that service and verify the resulting preview before going live.
Common problems and fixes
- You cannot start the event: the channel may not have live streaming enabled yet. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours; enable it ahead of the planned event.
- YouTube shows no preview: check that the correct stream URL and key were copied into the encoder, that the source is running, and that the service reports an active connection. Do not share the key while troubleshooting.
- Preview appears but has no sound: confirm the source file contains the intended audio track, the selected service accepts its audio format, and the preview is not muted. Verify sound before starting the public event.
- The service rejects the file or playlist: check the service’s current file, duration, storage, and playlist limits. Compatibility is service-specific; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not establish support for every format.
- The stream stops unexpectedly: check the cloud service’s status and recovery behavior, then inspect the YouTube Live Control Room. If the interruption has ended the YouTube event, reconnecting the encoder may not itself restart the event; follow the service and YouTube controls to resume or create a new event as appropriate.
- You expected an automatic archive after a long broadcast: YouTube’s automatic archive condition is for streams under 12 hours. Plan a separate recording or archive workflow if the stream will exceed that duration.
