To stream chakra meditation music continuously on YouTube with FFmpeg, loop a music file in real time, send it to the current ingest URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room, and keep the computer and network running while you monitor the broadcast. The FFmpeg loop is only one part of the setup: it does not restart a failed process, guarantee seamless audio transitions, or ensure YouTube keeps a stream live.

Before you start

Make sure the channel can go live

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming before you plan to broadcast. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guide and live-streaming tips.

Use music you are authorized to stream

You are responsible for having the rights needed to broadcast the music worldwide, including relevant rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other rights holders. Calling a track “meditation music” or “royalty-free,” or finding it online, does not by itself establish that you may use it in a continuous livestream or its archive. Review YouTube’s livestream terms and keep records of the permissions or license that covers your intended use.

Prepare and test the source

Choose an audio file you have the rights to use and listen through the point where it returns to the beginning. A loop can expose a pause, click, abrupt change in volume, or an awkward musical transition. FFmpeg’s loop option repeats the input; it does not make the musical boundary seamless. If your chosen YouTube encoder setup needs video, pair the music with a visual track and test that exact configuration. A still image does not resolve rights or content-policy concerns.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Configure a YouTube live stream

  1. Open YouTube Live Control Room. Create or select a live stream using the encoder workflow. Follow YouTube’s instructions for creating a stream with an encoder.
  2. Copy the current ingest server URL and stream key. Use the values shown for that stream in Live Control Room; do not guess an ingest address or reuse a key without checking the settings.
  3. Keep the key private. Treat it like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to submit a feed to your channel. Avoid posting it in a tutorial, screenshot, shared command, or public repository. See YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance.
  4. Choose a supported ingest protocol. YouTube recommends RTMPS as the encrypted form of RTMP for the standard encoder path. HLS is an alternative for particular needs, but it has higher latency and additional segment and rolling-playlist requirements. For a conventional prerecorded stereo music stream, use the RTMP/RTMPS configuration unless you have a specific reason to use HLS. See YouTube’s encoder settings guide and HLS setup instructions.

Loop the music with FFmpeg

Install an FFmpeg build that supports the input and output options you plan to use. Check the documentation for your installed version. In the command below, replace music.mp3 with your file and replace the destination with the current ingest URL and stream key copied from Live Control Room. This is a starting shape, not a tested or guaranteed configuration:

ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i music.mp3
  -vn -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
  -f flv "rtmps://YOUR_INGEST_URL/YOUR_STREAM_KEY"
  • -re reads a file at its native rate rather than sending it as fast as possible. It is useful when pacing file input in real time.
  • -stream_loop -1 loops the input indefinitely. FFmpeg documents -1 as infinite looping.
  • -i music.mp3 specifies the input file. The options -re and -stream_loop precede the input they affect.
  • -vn disables video output. If your YouTube setup requires a visual track, remove or revise this option, add a compatible video source, and map and test the audio and video streams deliberately.
  • -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 selects AAC audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. YouTube’s general encoder guide recommends AAC or MP3, and lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps for stereo audio. These are encoder recommendations, not proof that every account or stream configuration will accept this exact command.
  • -f flv selects the output container commonly used for the RTMP/RTMPS encoder path. Use the protocol and settings supported by your current YouTube stream configuration.

Do not put a real stream key in a command you will share or publish. Shell history may retain commands, so consider how you will protect credentials on the machine running FFmpeg. Consult the official FFmpeg documentation for option behavior and verify the exact command with your installed build.

Set encoder values and check the connection

Audio and video settings

YouTube’s general encoder guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a keyframe interval of 2 seconds, not exceeding 4 seconds. For stereo audio, it recommends 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 kbps. The cited guide lists 48 kHz and 384 kbps for 5.1 audio. A music-only command has no video keyframes; if you add a visual track, set its video encoder and keyframe interval to match YouTube’s guidance. Use a conservative video mode and bitrate that your connection can sustain, then test the actual output rather than assuming the settings are correct. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

Leave network headroom

YouTube recommends upload capacity about 20% above the stream’s bitrate. Check the actual upstream connection from the location that will host FFmpeg, preferably under representative conditions; a plan’s advertised speed does not guarantee stable upload at all times. YouTube notes that connectivity disruptions can break a stream. Its streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring rather than assuming a connection will remain healthy.

Test, go live, and monitor

  1. Run a short test with the intended file and settings. Check the loop boundary for clicks, silence, gaps, timestamp problems, or sudden level changes.
  2. Start FFmpeg and check Live Control Room’s preview and stream health. Confirm that the expected audio (and video, if used) is reaching YouTube before making the stream public or announcing it.
  3. Verify the viewer-facing stream. Open the watch page and check that playback works as intended on the channel.
  4. Monitor the host and broadcast during operation. Watch for FFmpeg exiting, network failure, silence, or YouTube no longer showing the stream as live. For a long-running broadcast, arrange a person or monitoring process to detect these conditions and respond. This is an operational safeguard, not an FFmpeg or YouTube guarantee of automatic recovery.

FFmpeg looping does not automatically restart the process after a crash or repair an internet outage. Restart supervision and alerting must be arranged separately if you need them, and neither removes the need to check whether YouTube has accepted the resumed feed.

24/7 operation: limits and common failures

A loop is not an uninterrupted-stream guarantee

-stream_loop -1 repeats an input indefinitely while the FFmpeg process is running. It does not keep the host powered, restore a failed connection, guarantee a clean transition at the end of the file, or ensure YouTube accepts the feed continuously. The host needs reliable power and internet access, and someone or a monitoring process needs to notice failures.

Do not rely on one complete YouTube replay

YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that an indefinite 24/7 event will be saved as one complete replay. If keeping the full program matters, plan a lawful local recording and storage workflow and check YouTube’s current limits separately. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.

Symptoms and fixes

  • YouTube receives no signal: Check that the channel is eligible and live streaming has been activated, the selected stream is open in Live Control Room, and the current ingest URL and key were copied correctly. Confirm the key has not been changed since you configured FFmpeg.
  • The command exits or the stream stops: Read FFmpeg’s error output and check the source file, host power, and network. A loop option cannot restart an exited process; configure separate process supervision or restart it manually, then verify YouTube’s preview and live state.
  • Audio is too fast, interrupted, or distorted: For file input, confirm -re appears before the input it paces. Check the audio codec and bitrate against the chosen setup, and test playback and the loop boundary locally before sending it live.
  • The stream is unstable: Check actual upload capacity and leave the recommended 20% headroom above stream bitrate. Reduce the stream bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it, and test again under realistic network conditions.
  • The beginning of each loop clicks or has a gap: Inspect the file boundary and timestamps. The loop option does not crossfade or edit the source; prepare a better-edited file if a seamless transition is important.
  • A visual stream fails although audio works locally: The example command disables video with -vn. Add and map a compatible visual source if required by your configuration, set suitable video encoding values, and confirm the result in YouTube’s preview.

FAQ

Can I stream audio without a picture?

The command shown disables video, but the supplied YouTube encoder guidance does not establish that an audio-only output will be accepted for every account or setup. If it is rejected or your chosen workflow requires video, add a compatible visual source and test it in Live Control Room before going live.

Does a 24/7 chakra music stream provide health benefits?

This setup guide addresses the technical process, not medical effects. Do not present a livestream as treatment or promise health outcomes based on its chakra theme.
