Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can run a country-music radio-style YouTube stream around the clock with an encoder that sends a prepared audio-and-visual program to YouTube Live. Before you start, secure the rights for every track and territory you intend to serve: YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches and may interrupt them, even if you have a license but the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Then test the full playout chain and arrange monitoring and recovery; 24/7 is an operating goal, not a guarantee of uninterrupted YouTube service or a complete 24-hour replay.
1. Clear music rights before planning the broadcast
Do not assume that permission to play a song on terrestrial radio, another internet service, or a personal playlist covers a YouTube livestream. Confirm with the relevant rights holders or a qualified local adviser that your rights cover the specific YouTube use and the territories where viewers may watch. Requirements depend on the tracks, ownership, territories, and intended use; there is no universal license package established here.
YouTube Help says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If YouTube detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the content. If the content continues, the live stream may be interrupted or terminated. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a stream. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
A license alone may not prevent an automated interruption. YouTube says that if you have licensed music, you should ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without that step, a stream may still be interrupted, including when it is restricted to territories where you believe you have the necessary rights. An allowlist is not a substitute for obtaining the rights themselves.

YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” See YouTube for Artists and coordinate with the relevant label, distributor, publisher, or other rights holder for your catalog.
2. Check that your channel can go live
YouTube Help’s current guidance, checked in 2026, says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old. First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and test before your planned launch rather than leaving setup until broadcast day. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and its encoder setup instructions.

3. Prepare the radio-style program
Build a continuous audio playlist
Arrange the cleared recordings in the intended order and decide what should happen at the end of the playlist: restart from the beginning, move to another block, or stop for a scheduled changeover. Test transitions, silence, volume consistency, and track endings. If your audio player, automation software, or encoder loses its input, the YouTube stream may remain connected while the program itself is silent; include input monitoring in your operating plan.
Give the stream a visual identity
YouTube’s encoder workflow sends audio and video. Pair the music with a stable station visual, such as a designed still or an animated scene, and use only artwork or footage you have permission to show. Make the title and description clear that this is a country-music radio-style program, and avoid implying that a stream is officially affiliated with an artist or station when it is not.

Choose an encoder and playout arrangement
YouTube supports encoder-based broadcasts from software on a computer or a standalone hardware encoder. Its encoder directory names OBS as open-source software and lists the AJA HELO Plus as a hardware option; it also lists Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 streams of prerecorded video. These are different approaches, not a tested ranking for country radio. Compare the practical needs that matter to your station:
| Approach | What stays running | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a computer | The computer, audio playback or automation, encoder, and internet connection need to remain available. | Flexible for a designed program and familiar tools; plan for power, computer, application, and internet failures. Verify how your chosen setup schedules playlists and routes audio. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | The encoder and its audio/video inputs, power, and internet connection. | Useful if you want a dedicated device rather than a general-purpose computer; check that its playback, scheduling, and input arrangement match your program. YouTube lists the AJA HELO Plus, but no comparative uptime result is established here. |
| Hosted continuous playout | A cloud service handles the uploaded prerecorded program; you still need a configured YouTube destination and a way to monitor the broadcast. | Can remove the need to keep a home computer running. Confirm current service terms, supported workflow, rights responsibilities, and recovery behavior before choosing a provider. |
YouTube’s directory entry for Gyre describes it as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded video; that listing is not an endorsement. For YouTube-only prerecorded playback, StreamNeo is another hosted option: it keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot and a free first day. It is not a camera-based broadcast tool.

4. Connect your encoder to YouTube Live
YouTube’s documented encoder flow is to create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder, send the feed, inspect the preview, then go live. Exact controls vary by encoder, so use the current YouTube preset and the encoder’s own instructions rather than assuming every application has identical labels.
- Open YouTube Studio, choose Create, then Go live to enter the Live Control Room. Create a new stream or schedule one, and set the title, description, visibility, and other stream details.
- In the stream settings, copy the YouTube server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Open your encoder’s stream or destination settings. Select the YouTube service or the appropriate custom RTMP destination, then enter the server URL and stream key. If the encoder offers a YouTube preset, use it unless you have a specific technical reason to configure the feed manually.
- Configure the audio and video sources: select the playlist or playback output for audio and the authorized station visual for video. Confirm that the encoder meters show audio and that the preview is not black or frozen.
- Start streaming from the encoder. Return to YouTube’s Live Control Room and wait for the incoming preview. Check picture, sound, stream details, and any warnings before selecting Go live if YouTube has not already started the broadcast under your chosen workflow.
- Verify the public viewing page from a separate device or browser, then keep the Live Control Room or another monitoring method available for alerts and status changes.
Encoding settings: use the appropriate preset
The cited YouTube encoder setup guidance supports using the encoder workflow but does not establish a single numeric bitrate or resolution that is right for every country-radio stream. Choose settings your connection can sustain, use the encoder’s current YouTube preset, and test the result for stable audio/video and acceptable playback. Do not copy protocol-specific HLS settings into a general RTMP setup.

For developers building an HLS implementation specifically, YouTube’s technical guide calls for muxed M2TS audio/video, supports H.264 or HEVC video and AAC audio, requires one encoded stream, and requires HTTPS. Those requirements are for that HLS protocol path, not a universal checklist for an ordinary encoder setup. See YouTube’s HLS ingestion guide.
5. Make continuity an operating process
A stream that is intended to run 24/7 needs more than a successful first connection. Before launch, test the whole chain: cleared audio source, authorized visual, playback or scheduling, encoder, power, internet connection, YouTube preview, and stream-key handling. Decide who or what will notice silence, a disconnected feed, a copyright warning, or a YouTube status alert, and write down the recovery procedure.
- Check that music continues beyond the first playlist cycle and that the audio input does not stop when a track changes.
- Confirm that the visual remains active and that the encoder is actually receiving audio and video.
- Test what happens after a brief internet interruption, encoder restart, or playback application failure. A local test cannot guarantee how YouTube will behave in every later failure.
- Keep a responsible person or monitoring system able to notice YouTube warnings and take action; do not assume a running encoder means the content is still authorized or audible.
- Document how to restart playback and the encoder, confirm YouTube has received the feed again, and verify that the resumed stream is audible and visible.
YouTube says it permits up to 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key in current guidance checked in 2026. A single radio station normally does not need to approach those limits, but they may matter if an operator is also running other simultaneous broadcasts.
6. Plan for the archive separately
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not promise one complete archive for a 24-hour session, so do not advertise a full replay on the strength of YouTube’s automatic archive alone. If listeners need a replay, consider recording independently or scheduling multiple shorter runs, and confirm YouTube’s current behavior for the workflow you choose. Separate recording also needs adequate storage and the rights to retain and make the recording available.

For a prerecorded radio-style stream, StreamNeo’s workflow is three steps: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded material at the quality you made it, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; and it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Every slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, pooled 10 GB storage per slot, looping and playlists, automatic recovery, and StreamNeo team support. It plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera, and it does not remove your responsibility to obtain music and visual rights or address YouTube copyright alerts. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Start the free day at StreamNeo registration.
