To stream a prerecorded pranayama class playlist continuously on YouTube Live, use OBS Studio on a computer: add the recordings as a VLC Video source, enable Loop Playlist, connect OBS to the YouTube event with its server URL and stream key, then test the preview before going live. The loop repeats your files; it does not keep the broadcast online if the computer, OBS, files or internet connection stops working.
Before you set up the stream
Check channel eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Its general live-streaming eligibility page sets the minimum age at 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming before the day of class. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Mobile live streaming has separate requirements, including a subscriber threshold and supported device. Those mobile conditions should not be applied to the encoder workflow described here. YouTube lists India as a supported location for mobile live streaming; its encoder instructions do not specify a separate India-only setup. See YouTube’s mobile live-streaming guidance.
Prepare recordings and confirm rights
Gather the class videos as local media files and arrange them in the order you want viewers to watch. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for every video, soundtrack, recording and other included element, including the territories where the stream may be viewed. A pranayama class recording can include third-party music or footage even when the instruction itself is yours.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may cause a placeholder to appear, interrupt the stream or terminate it. If you have licensed material, the rights owner may still need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; having a license does not necessarily prevent an interruption. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions. These platform requirements are not a complete guide to Indian copyright law or a decision about whether a particular recording is cleared.
Build a looping playlist in OBS
Use VLC Video for multiple class videos
- Install OBS Studio and VLC on the computer that will run the broadcast. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC; install it if that source is missing.
- In OBS, select the scene for the broadcast, then add a VLC Video source from the Sources panel.
- Open the source properties, add the class files in the intended playback order, and enable Loop Playlist to restart the sequence after the final file.
- Choose whether the playlist should shuffle or play in order. For a planned class sequence, use the intended order rather than shuffle.
- Preview the scene and listen to the audio. Check that the beginning and end of each recording transition as expected and that no unrelated desktop content is visible.
OBS documents VLC Video playlists and the separate single-file Media Source controls in its Media Sources guide.

Use Media Source for one video
If the broadcast consists of one recording, add a Media Source instead and turn on its Loop control. Use VLC Video when you need several files in one sequence; use Media Source with Loop when a single file should repeat.
Decide whether to include live narration
A microphone is only needed if an instructor will speak live over the prerecorded class. If the stream is entirely prerecorded, check the video’s own audio in OBS and avoid adding an unused microphone source. YouTube’s encoder workflow does not make a microphone mandatory for this setup.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. Scheduling can make the event appear as upcoming and let viewers set reminders.
- Copy the event’s current server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. In OBS, open Settings and select Stream; choose the YouTube service or enter the server URL and key in the available fields.
- Treat the stream key as a credential. Use the key for the intended channel and event, and do not share it publicly.
- Start streaming from OBS early enough to check the incoming signal. In the Live Control Room, confirm that the preview appears and inspect stream health before starting the public broadcast.
- Once the preview and audio are right, start the broadcast in YouTube Studio if the event flow requires it. Keep OBS running and monitor the stream while it is live.
YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the server URL and stream key workflow. Its live-streaming tips recommend testing, checking the preview and monitoring audio and video during the broadcast.

DVR and scheduled events
Consider whether viewers should be able to pause and resume while watching. YouTube’s DVR setting permits viewers to pause and catch up. A scheduled event may also show as upcoming and allow reminders. Check the available controls for the event in YouTube Studio’s live-stream settings guide.

Duration and archiving
YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Check the current Studio limits and archive settings before relying on a recording, particularly if the playlist is intended to run longer than a single class session.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Keep the broadcast running—and recover from problems
Looping only controls what OBS plays. The computer must stay powered on, OBS must remain open, the local media files must be available, and the internet connection must hold. YouTube recommends testing in advance and monitoring the broadcast, but the playlist setting itself is not a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime.

- The VLC Video source is unavailable: Install VLC, then restart OBS and check the Sources menu again.
- The playlist stops at the last file: Open the VLC Video source properties and enable Loop Playlist. For one file, use Media Source and enable Loop.
- YouTube shows no preview: Confirm OBS is streaming, the event is the intended one, and the current server URL and stream key are entered correctly. Check the Live Control Room’s stream health.
- Audio is missing or wrong: Preview the source and check OBS’s audio meters and the selected audio sources before going live. If narration is not part of the class, do not rely on an unused microphone input.
- The broadcast is interrupted after a copyright match: Review YouTube’s notice and resolve the rights issue. If licensed third-party content triggered Content ID, ask the rights owner about allowlisting the channel; a license alone may not prevent an interruption.
- The stream ends unexpectedly: Check whether the computer, OBS or network stopped working, then inspect YouTube Studio before restarting. A local playlist cannot automatically restore a broadcast after the encoder or connection fails.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you do not want a computer and home connection to stay on, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service: upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera. There is nothing to keep running at home; videos stream as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India. See StreamNeo, then start the free day.
