To stream a live yoga class in 4K at 60 frames per second from an Indian PC, configure the complete camera-to-YouTube chain for 3840×2160 at 60 fps, use a stable encoder and upload connection, and rehearse from the actual class setup. YouTube’s guidance recommends 35 Mbps for H.264 at 4K/2160p60; it lists 10–40 Mbps for AV1 and H.265. YouTube also recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and upload bandwidth with 20% headroom. These are platform settings, not a guarantee that a particular PC or Indian internet connection can sustain them.
What you need for a reliable 4K60 yoga stream
4K60 depends on the whole signal path, not just a 4K camera: the camera or capture device must provide the intended video, the PC must encode it at the chosen resolution and frame rate, and the internet connection must sustain the stream’s upload bitrate. YouTube’s official encoder guidance supports up to 60 fps and recommends RTMPS when supported. Check the capabilities and compatibility of your camera, capture connection, PC encoder, and streaming software before relying on them for a class.
- Camera and capture: Use a camera or webcam that can deliver the required output through its connection and capture path. A camera purchase by itself does not guarantee 4K60.
- PC encoding: Select a codec the encoder hardware and software actually support. Confirm the PC remains stable during a representative rehearsal.
- Upload connection: Measure upload speed at the venue and during the likely class time. Other devices and traffic sharing the connection reduce the bandwidth available to the stream.
- Class framing: Frame the entire mat and check that the instructor’s poses remain visible at the edges. This is practical yoga setup advice, not a YouTube specification.
Set up YouTube Live and the stream key
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Use the encoder settings below, then start a private or otherwise appropriate test before the class. YouTube normally detects the incoming resolution and frame rate; a custom stream key can enable manual resolution settings.
Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it. YouTube lists RTMP/RTMPS as supported protocols; availability of the protocol setting in your encoder depends on the software.
Choose resolution, codec, and bitrate
Set the encoder’s output to 3840×2160 (2160p), 60 fps if the camera, capture chain, PC, software, and connection can sustain it. In YouTube’s guidance accessed in 2026, the recommended H.264 bitrate for 4K/2160p at 60 fps is 35 Mbps. For AV1 and H.265, YouTube lists a range of 10–40 Mbps at that resolution and frame rate. These figures are YouTube ingestion recommendations; they do not establish which codec or bitrate a particular Indian PC or connection can maintain.

For any of these codecs, set CBR and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. The codec-specific bitrate range does not mean every value in it will suit your equipment or scene equally well.
Set audio and SDR color correctly
- Color: For ordinary SDR video, configure Rec. 709 and 8-bit output.
- Audio: YouTube recommends AAC or MP3. For stereo, its guidance lists 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps.
- HDR: Do not label or promote the stream as HDR unless the camera, capture path, encoder, software, and YouTube settings are deliberately configured for HDR. This setup is for ordinary SDR yoga video.
During rehearsal, listen for clipping and confirm that spoken instruction remains clear alongside any music. YouTube specifically recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the actual stream.

Check upload bandwidth and leave headroom
YouTube says the total stream bitrate must not exceed the available upload bandwidth and recommends 20% headroom. For an H.264 stream set to the platform’s 35 Mbps 4K60 recommendation, that means planning for at least 42 Mbps of available upload capacity for the stream under YouTube’s headroom guidance. This calculation is not a claim that a speed test guarantees sustained performance: measure upload at the streaming location and account for other traffic sharing the connection.
- Run an upload speed test at the venue, preferably at the time the class will take place.
- Compare the available upload capacity with the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate, including audio, and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% room.
- Reduce competing uploads, backups, video calls, and other traffic during the stream where possible.
- If the connection cannot sustain 4K60 consistently, lower the resolution or frame rate and rehearse again. A steady lower-resolution class is preferable to presenting intermittent 4K as reliable.
Do not infer upload capacity from an advertised download speed. YouTube’s bandwidth guidance applies in India as elsewhere, but the official settings reviewed do not verify the performance of any particular Indian ISP, city, home network, or PC.

Rehearse for yoga movement, framing, and latency
YouTube Help advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.” For yoga, that means testing a real sequence of poses from the camera position you intend to use, with spoken instruction and music at expected levels.
- Check that the full mat and the instructor’s complete range of movement stay in frame, including poses near the edges.
- Watch the YouTube preview and stream health while moving; confirm focus, exposure, and audio remain usable through the sequence.
- Check the stream from a viewer’s perspective and assess whether normal-latency delivery suits the class format.
- Repeat the test if you change the camera position, codec, bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or network conditions.
There is a meaningful trade-off for interactive instruction: YouTube says 4K streams use normal latency, and its low-latency option does not support 4K. If students need real-time corrections or rapid back-and-forth through chat, explain and test the delay; if interaction speed matters more than 4K detail, try a lower resolution in rehearsal.

What to verify before buying a camera or webcam
A 4K camera or webcam may help if the built-in camera cannot show the instructor and the full yoga space clearly. YouTube’s streaming tips say a laptop and webcam can be used and that better equipment results in better live-stream quality, but that guidance does not certify any specific model for 4K60.
- Verify the camera’s output resolution and frame rate, not only the resolution named in its product description.
- Check that the PC’s capture connection and streaming software accept that output.
- Confirm that the PC can encode the selected codec and 4K60 stream stably.
- Test the entire chain before purchasing on the assumption that it will deliver 4K60.
