To stream Telugu devotional video on YouTube Live in 4K at 60 frames per second, set your encoder to 3840×2160 at 60fps, use a YouTube-supported codec and constant bitrate (CBR), and make sure your upload connection can sustain the chosen bitrate. For 4K60, YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends 35 Mbps with AV1 or HEVC, or 50 Mbps with H.264. Test the full video and audio chain before going live, and confirm you have permission to use the exact devotional composition and recording.
1. Confirm your channel can go live
Open YouTube Live Control Room and check that live streaming is enabled for your account. YouTube’s live streaming setup guidance has the current account steps. Eligibility requirements and settings can change, so check there rather than relying on an assumed activation wait.
2. Choose how the video and audio enter your setup
Video source
For pre-recorded devotional video, add the file as a media source in your encoder. For a live camera, use a webcam, a camera that connects directly to the computer, or an HDMI camera with a compatible capture device. A capture device is not needed if your camera already appears as a usable webcam.
As one conditional example, Elgato says Cam Link 4K can present a compatible camera to a computer as a webcam and lists OBS as a compatible application. Its 4K60 mode requires the latest hardware revision, a compatible camera, MJPG, and a USB 3.0 connection; it does not make a camera output 4K60 if the camera itself cannot provide it. Check the exact camera output, device revision, cable, computer port, and continuous-power needs before buying. See Elgato Cam Link 4K and its technical specifications.

Audio source
Decide whether the stream will use a live microphone, a mixed audio feed, or audio embedded in the video file. YouTube’s advanced audio guidance lists AAC or MP3 and recommends 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Set microphone gain and balance voice with music in a private or unlisted rehearsal; a suitable mix depends on the room, microphone, and performance.
3. Set YouTube’s 4K60 encoder values
For a standard RTMP/RTMPS encoder workflow, use the following 4K60 settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. Its live encoder table was checked in 2026; the page’s publication date is not stated.

| Setting | Value for 4K60 | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 3840Ă—2160 | Also called 2160p or 4K. |
| Frame rate | 60fps | Your source and encoder must support this output. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube specifies constant bitrate for this workflow. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | Do not exceed 4 seconds. |
| Codec and video bitrate | AV1 or HEVC: recommended 35 Mbps; minimum 10 Mbps | Use these values only for AV1 or HEVC. |
| Codec and video bitrate | H.264: recommended 50 Mbps; minimum 14 Mbps | Use these values only for H.264. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; recommended 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps | Check your encoder’s audio output settings. |
The bitrate figures are YouTube ingestion recommendations and minimums, not guarantees that a connection at the same speed will remain stable. YouTube’s encoder guidance also says settings are automatically detected by default; a custom stream key is available when you need manual resolution selection. For a simpler setup, choose the codec your encoder and workflow support and use the corresponding bitrate row rather than applying the AV1/HEVC number to H.264. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.
What bitrate do you need for 4K 60fps on YouTube Live?
Use YouTube’s recommended video bitrate for your chosen codec: 35 Mbps for AV1 or HEVC, or 50 Mbps for H.264. The published minimums are 10 Mbps for AV1/HEVC and 14 Mbps for H.264, but aiming only for a minimum can leave little tolerance for a changing connection. Check upload capacity under realistic conditions and leave practical headroom for audio, protocol overhead, and normal variation; YouTube does not specify a universal headroom ratio in the cited guidance.

Should you use H.264, HEVC, or AV1?
The right option depends on what your encoder supports and can deliver reliably. YouTube lists all three among supported live video codecs, but its 4K60 recommendations differ by codec. Google’s HLS guidance states that HEVC can provide 25%–50% more compression at comparable quality than H.264; that is a general codec comparison, not a guaranteed improvement for your encoder or footage. HLS is an advanced ingestion option for encoder vendors, not the default OBS recipe. The guidance specifies requirements including muxed M2TS, H.264 or HEVC, AAC, a closed GOP, and up to 60fps, and describes HLS as a higher-latency path for high-quality or high-resolution content. See Google’s HLS ingestion guide.
4. Connect the encoder to YouTube
- Open YouTube Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream and choose the encoder workflow.
- Get the stream key. Copy it from the stream’s settings in Live Control Room. Treat it as a password: do not put it in a public video, screenshot, or chat.
- Enter the server and key in your encoder. Use the RTMPS server information and stream key YouTube provides. Exact labels vary by encoder; do not share the key with anyone who should not be able to broadcast on the channel.
- Apply the video and audio settings. Set 3840Ă—2160, 60fps, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and the bitrate that matches your selected codec. Confirm that the source itself is 4K60 if you expect 4K60 output.
- Start the encoder and check Live Control Room. Wait for YouTube to receive the feed and review its stream-health messages before starting the public broadcast.
5. Test the connection and stream health
Run an upload speed test, but do not treat a single result as proof that a long broadcast will be stable. Check the connection at the time and place you intend to stream, and leave headroom beyond the video bitrate for audio, protocol overhead, and ordinary variation. YouTube’s guidance does not establish one universal headroom percentage.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Test with representative motion and the actual audio setup. Static devotional imagery can be easier to encode than a moving camera, but your test should resemble the real programme, including any camera movement, transitions, singers, and accompaniment. Check Live Control Room’s stream-health messages while testing and again during the broadcast. YouTube advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.”
If 4K60 produces unstable health messages or dropped frames, lower resolution or frame rate until the connection can sustain a stable stream. YouTube provides recommended bitrates for other output choices, including 1440p60 and 1080p60, in its encoder settings table. A reliable lower-resolution broadcast is preferable to an unreliable 4K signal.

6. Check rights for devotional music and recordings
Telugu devotional content does not require a separate encoder profile, but the language or devotional purpose does not itself grant permission to broadcast music. Before using a bhajan, film song, album track, backing recording, or another artist’s performance, confirm that you have the rights or permission needed for the musical work and the specific recording or performance, as applicable.
A YouTube or YouTube Music consumer subscription does not by itself grant public-performance or live-rebroadcast rights. YouTube’s copyright guidance explains copyright claims and removal requests, while its paid-service terms restrict use of paid-service content in public presentations. Neither page clears a particular song or recording. If permission is uncertain, use original music or material whose license explicitly covers the intended public livestream and any archive, and keep the permission or license records.
7. Troubleshoot common 4K60 problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Live Control Room does not receive a signal | Incorrect server information or stream key, encoder not started, or live streaming not enabled | Recheck the stream details in Live Control Room, confirm the encoder is sending, and verify account live access. |
| Unstable stream health or dropped frames | Upload capacity or connection stability is insufficient for the selected bitrate | Test the connection again, reduce competing network use, and lower resolution, frame rate, or bitrate to a stable supported setting. |
| 4K60 is unavailable from the camera or capture path | The camera, capture device revision, connection, or format does not support the selected mode | Verify the camera’s actual output, capture-device compatibility, required MJPG mode where applicable, and USB 3.0 connection. |
| Sound is too quiet, distorted, or unbalanced | Input gain, audio routing, or the voice/music mix is unsuitable | Check the encoder’s selected audio input and conduct a rehearsal with the real microphone or mix. Adjust gain and balance before going public. |
| A music claim or removal request appears | The composition or recording may be protected and not cleared for the broadcast | Review the relevant YouTube notice and your license or permission records. A consumer subscription is not proof of livestream rights. |
