Go to YouTube Studio > Earn > Giving, create a fundraiser for an eligible nonprofit, add your videos or scheduled livestreams, and publish it. Access is conditional: YouTube currently lists supported location, at least 10,000 subscribers, YouTube Partner Program membership, and a channel not designated Made for Kids among the requirements. If you do not have the Giving tab, you can link to an external fundraiser from an end screen instead.
Check whether your channel can use YouTube Giving
In YouTube Studio, open Earn > Giving. YouTube’s current help documentation lists these channel requirements:
- Your channel is based in a location where YouTube Giving is supported. Check YouTube’s current supported-locations list before planning a campaign, since availability can change.
- Your channel has at least 10,000 subscribers.
- Your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program.
- Your channel is not designated Made for Kids.
YouTube notes that some channels may see fundraising access even if they do not appear to meet all of the listed criteria. The Giving tab in Studio is the practical place to check your channel’s current access.
Create and publish the fundraiser
- In YouTube Studio, go to Earn > Giving, then select Get started > Create a fundraiser.
- Choose an available eligible U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity. If it is not listed, select Request a nonprofit. YouTube says processing a request for an eligible charity can take up to five business days.
- Enter a fundraiser title and description. You can optionally add collaborators, set a fundraising goal, and choose a duration. YouTube says these details can be changed later.
- Add the videos or scheduled livestreams that should display the fundraiser.
- Review the campaign and publish it. The Donate button appears after the fundraiser’s start date, not before.
The Donate button will not appear on content designated Made for Kids. If your campaign is tied to a scheduled livestream, attach that stream during setup rather than relying on viewers to find a separate donation link.

Choose and verify the recipient
YouTube Giving donations are for eligible U.S. public charities, not any organization a creator happens to name. YouTube’s nonprofit requirements include registration as a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity, a creator request, participation in Google for Nonprofits, opting into online fundraising through GuideStar, and compliance with YouTube monetization policies and Community Guidelines. Check the recipient’s identity and eligibility before announcing the fundraiser. A requested charity that qualifies but is not listed may take up to five business days to be processed.
Understand donations, fees, and payout timing
YouTube says 100% of donations go to the nonprofit and YouTube covers transaction fees. Google uses Network for Good to collect and distribute funds. YouTube says distributions are typically monthly; totals under $10 are disbursed annually. The nonprofit help page says a transfer may take up to two months, so do not promise that the recipient will receive the funds immediately after a livestream or campaign ends.

Network for Good has exclusive legal control over donations it receives, as required by U.S. IRS rules. If it cannot distribute funds to the selected recipient, it may direct the money to another qualified U.S. nonprofit. What changes on a fundraiser livestream
Attach the scheduled livestream to the fundraiser in Studio. If live chat is enabled, viewers can use Live Chat Donations. YouTube turns off Super Chat and Super Stickers on these streams to avoid confusion between those features and donations. Adding a fundraiser does not affect ads, but Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations.

Keep the stream’s fundraising explanation clear: name the nonprofit, explain what the Donate button does, and distinguish donations made through YouTube Giving from any separate pledge you personally make. A microphone or other production equipment is optional; it is not a requirement for YouTube Giving.
If you do not have the Giving tab
YouTube says creators can add an end screen linking to an external fundraising page; its examples include GoFundMe and JustGiving. Check the external platform’s current terms, fees, recipient rules, and tax information directly before choosing it. Those details are set by the platform and are not established by YouTube’s Giving documentation.

You can also make original videos and pledge revenue from specific videos to a nonprofit. Be precise about which revenue you mean and keep records of any payment. YouTube says it does not verify whether money creators pledge is received by the nonprofit. Do not tell viewers to click ads or repeatedly watch videos to increase a donation; YouTube warns that this can violate its Fake Engagement policy.

- Do not make false claims about donating to the organization or nonprofit.
- State whether viewers are donating through YouTube Giving or whether you are making a separate personal pledge.
- For a personal pledge, describe the amount or revenue source accurately and retain records showing what you donated.
- Do not ask viewers to click ads or repeatedly play videos as a way to raise the donation.
- Use content you have rights to use. YouTube warns that using work created by others can result in copyright claims.
- Check the campaign after publishing. In Studio’s Giving tab, you can edit fundraiser details or its goal, or delete the fundraiser and remove its Donate button.
