You can run a 24/7 bhajan “radio” channel on YouTube by sending a continuous audio-and-visual feed from an encoder—not by leaving an ordinary YouTube playlist to play. First clear the rights for each recording and song, then check that your channel can livestream, build a playlist, connect an encoder, and test the feed before making it public. A local setup needs a computer, power, internet and monitoring; cloud playout can keep the feed running without a computer at home.
Before you build the playlist, clear the music
Do not assume that a bhajan is free to use because it is devotional, traditional, widely shared, or available on YouTube. The composition and lyrics, a particular sound recording, and any visual material may have different rightsholders. Permission for one track or one kind of use does not automatically cover the others.
Make a track-by-track rights list
For every item, record the title, performer, recording owner or label, composer and lyricist or publisher where relevant, the territories where you plan to make it available, and the intended use: continuous YouTube livestreaming with your chosen visuals. Ask the relevant rightsholders for written permission that expressly covers that use. Keep the permission and any terms about attribution, monetization, territory, duration, and Content ID with your channel records.
IPRS describes its licensing as covering musical and associated literary works in its repertoire and says it represents only the relevant member rights. PPL India says it does not issue licenses for digital-platform use of sound recordings and directs users to individual labels. Those scopes are not interchangeable or a blanket clearance for every bhajan. Check the specific rights for each track with the rightsholder or a qualified Indian copyright professional. See IPRS’s licensing information and PPL India’s FAQ.

Plan for YouTube’s Content ID checks
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and issue a warning; continued use can interrupt or terminate the broadcast. A license alone does not guarantee that a live stream will pass those checks. For licensed third-party music, YouTube advises asking the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Obtain and retain that confirmation where applicable. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Its live-streaming guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. Initial activation can take time, so check the live controls in YouTube Studio before preparing a launch date. The current requirements and setup steps are on YouTube’s live-stream setup page.

Choose how to keep the playlist on air
The playlist has to be played out as a continuous live feed. Choose between a computer running an encoder and a cloud service that sends the feed to YouTube. Either way, the service or encoder must support your intended YouTube Live workflow and repeat the material as planned.
| Option | What sends the feed | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud playout to YouTube from uploaded bhajans or a playlist. | Always-on cloud streaming, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; the first day is free with no card. Check that you have the rights for the material you upload. |
| Local encoder such as OBS | Your computer sends the audio-and-visual feed directly to YouTube. | Keep the computer, power and internet connection operating, and monitor the encoder and stream health. OBS is free and open source; its Help portal describes its computer-to-service workflow. |
Set up the do-it-yourself stream with OBS
The exact YouTube Studio labels and encoder options can change. Use the current YouTube and OBS documentation when following the steps, and keep your stream key private. A key is effectively the credential that lets an encoder send to your broadcast.

- Prepare the playlist and visual. Assemble only rights-cleared recordings. In OBS, create a scene with the audio source or sources and a visual element, such as an authorized still image or a designed loop. Confirm that the playlist repeats rather than stopping at the end. Do not use album art, photographs, lyrics, or video clips unless you have permission to use them.
- Create the live broadcast in YouTube Studio. Start a livestream using YouTube’s live controls, then retrieve the stream details provided for the broadcast. Follow YouTube’s setup guide for the current Studio workflow.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter the stream details in OBS using YouTube’s current encoder instructions. Keep the stream key private; do not put it in a public video, description, screenshot, or message. If it is exposed, replace or reset it through YouTube Studio.
- Choose stable encoder settings. Set resolution, frame rate, video and audio encoding, bitrate, and keyframe interval according to YouTube’s current encoder settings guide and the reliable upload capacity of your connection. The right bitrate depends on the selected format and available upload; avoid choosing a higher setting than the connection can sustain. Run an upload speed test and test representative sound and motion before going public.
- Preview, check health, then publish. Confirm that the incoming audio is audible and balanced, the visual is correct, and the playlist advances and loops. Review YouTube’s stream-health messages before launch and monitor them after going live.
- Keep the local system running. Leave the computer and encoder operating, with reliable power and internet. Arrange for someone to respond to an encoder crash, power or network outage, playlist failure, or rights notice. OBS notes that dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain; see OBS Help for troubleshooting and its auto-configuration wizard.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your bhajan recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud, so nothing has to stay running at home. Every slot supports 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot. A slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across your active slots. The first day is free with no card; India payments include UPI, and cards are accepted worldwide. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month; other billing lengths are available, and the product is the same across plans. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only, and cloud playout does not grant music rights or bypass YouTube’s checks. Learn more at StreamNeo, then start your free first day.
Test the full loop and prepare a recovery plan
Before announcing a permanent channel, run a test with the actual recordings, visual, playlist length, and connection or cloud configuration you intend to use. Check the beginning, a transition between tracks, a playlist repeat, and any scheduled restart or recovery behavior. The YouTube encoder guide recommends testing representative audio and video motion and monitoring stream health; use a conservative configuration that remains stable rather than prioritizing resolution at the expense of continuity.

- Decide who will check stream health and respond to notices or failures.
- For a local setup, plan what happens after an internet outage, power loss, OBS restart, or computer update.
- For a cloud setup, verify the provider’s current YouTube compatibility, playlist repetition, recovery behavior, archive options, and terms before relying on it.
- Keep a copy of rights documents and any Content ID allowlisting confirmation accessible to whoever monitors the channel.
Plan archives separately from the live broadcast
A 24-hour live feed should not be treated as a guaranteed single 24-hour replay. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends a local recording as backup. If a complete archive matters, set up local recording, allow for the storage it needs, and test that recording workflow independently of the public live feed. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Understand monetization before relying on it
YouTube’s Partner Program overview lists one eligibility route of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the preceding 12 months, or an alternative route of 1,000 subscribers and 10 million qualified Shorts views in the preceding 90 days. These are eligibility thresholds, not a promise of acceptance or income: the program also has policy, account, and regional requirements, and channels are reviewed. A repetitive or minimally changed playlist should be assessed against YouTube’s current monetization policies before you build a revenue plan. See YouTube’s Partner Program overview.

Troubleshoot common launch problems
YouTube will not let the channel start a livestream
Check channel verification, age eligibility, and whether there has been a livestreaming restriction within the previous 90 days. Allow for activation time and consult YouTube’s live-stream setup page for the current requirements.
The stream is interrupted by a copyright notice
Stop and identify the matched track rather than assuming devotional or licensed music is exempt. Recheck the recording and composition permissions, territory and use, and whether the relevant owner has allowlisted the channel through Content ID. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance explains its matching and interruption process.
OBS shows dropped frames or an unhealthy connection
Check whether the upload connection is stable and whether the chosen bitrate exceeds what it can sustain. Test upload capacity, lower settings if needed, and consult OBS’s Help portal and YouTube’s encoder settings guide.
The playlist stops or the feed is silent
Inspect the OBS scene’s audio source, levels, and playback behavior, then test the end of the playlist and its repeat before relaunching. The same full-loop test applies to cloud playout; confirm that the selected playlist actually repeats and that the uploaded audio plays correctly.
The live stream ended but there is no complete replay
Check the stream duration and your recording workflow. YouTube warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; use a separately tested local recording if a complete archive is required.
