You can use XSplit Broadcaster on a Windows PC to send a continuous stream to YouTube from India: enable YouTube Live, authorize your channel in XSplit, configure a scene and encoder settings, then test the stream before leaving it running. This is a do-it-yourself setup, not guaranteed 24/7 uptime—the PC, power and internet connection must all remain available.
What a local XSplit 24/7 setup depends on
XSplit runs on your computer and sends the broadcast to YouTube. The computer must stay powered on, XSplit must remain running, and the network connection must sustain the selected bitrate. A failure in any of those can interrupt the stream; the official XSplit and YouTube instructions do not promise automatic recovery for a local XSplit broadcast.
The published XSplit and YouTube requirements cited here are general, not India-specific. Choose settings using sustained upload measured where the PC will operate, rather than assuming a particular Indian broadband plan or ISP guarantees a stable stream.
Check your PC and upload connection
Confirm the computer meets XSplit’s requirements
XSplit Support lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a minimum 2nd-generation Intel Core i5 or equivalent, and broadband. For HD 1080p streaming it recommends a 4th-generation Core i7 or equivalent. These are vendor-published requirements, not a guarantee that a particular computer will encode your chosen scene reliably. See XSplit Broadcaster system requirements.

XSplit lists HTTPS/HTTP ports 80/8080 and a 500 kbps minimum upload for its lowest settings. That minimum is not a useful target for a dependable 24/7 YouTube picture; YouTube’s bitrate needs are substantially higher for common HD settings.
Measure sustained upload at the streaming location
Use a wired connection if practical, then measure upload repeatedly at the location and time the stream will run. YouTube says upload capacity must exceed the stream bitrate and recommends keeping 20% upload headroom. A shared connection can provide the PC less bandwidth than the broadband plan’s headline speed. For example, a 10 Mbps video bitrate needs more than 10 Mbps available upload; allow the recommended headroom and account for other network use. YouTube’s streaming tips explain the headroom and testing guidance.

Enable YouTube Live before launch day
In YouTube, open the live creation flow and complete channel verification and live-stream enablement. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so complete this step in advance. See YouTube Help’s live-streaming requirements.
Build the scene and connect XSplit to YouTube
- Prepare the program. Sign in to XSplit Broadcaster and add the visual and audio sources you intend to broadcast. Arrange and test the scene before going live.
- Authorize YouTube. In XSplit, open Broadcast → YouTube, authorize the channel, and configure a YouTube Live output. XSplit’s current interface may differ; consult its YouTube Live setup guide if the menu labels have changed.
- Set broadcast details. Enter the requested title, description, tags and privacy details, then preview the scene and start the created output when ready.
If a direct YouTube output is unavailable, use YouTube’s encoder workflow: in YouTube Studio, copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the stream key as a password. Do not publish or share it; if it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover the stream URL and key.

Choose encoder settings that match your connection
For a straightforward SDR H.264 stream, YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and no more than four seconds between keyframes. It recommends RTMPS. In its current encoder-settings help page, YouTube gives these H.264 figures; the page does not state a publication year:
| Video format | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p30 | 14 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
The 1080p30 minimum and recommended values appear counterintuitive because the cited table lists 14 Mbps as the minimum and 10 Mbps as recommended; follow the current YouTube table and verify its values in Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions before configuring a production stream. The same page lists 720p30 H.264 at 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended. These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a promise of performance on an Indian ISP.

Do not pick 1080p30 simply because it is a familiar preset. Choose a resolution and bitrate that your measured connection can sustain with upload headroom. Test with the same motion and audio that will be present in the actual program; a static scene may conceal problems that appear with movement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Test, monitor and plan for interruptions
- Start early enough to inspect the Live Control Room preview and correct source, audio or encoder issues before the intended broadcast.
- Check stream health during a representative test and visit the public watch page to confirm viewers see and hear the expected output.
- If you have configured a backup encoder, deliberately test failover rather than assuming it will work during an outage.
- Plan who or what operational process will respond to power loss, a PC crash, internet loss or encoder failure. A line-interactive UPS sized for the PC and network equipment may bridge brief power interruptions, but it cannot keep an ISP connection online when the service or network path is unavailable.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a 24-hour session will be saved as one automatic archive. If preserving the program matters, plan and test a recording or segmenting workflow and verify YouTube’s current behavior before launch.

Troubleshooting common setup problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Live cannot be started | Live access is not enabled, or the channel has a restriction. | Complete verification and activation early; check channel eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| XSplit cannot connect to the YouTube output | Authorization or output configuration may be incomplete; a manual key or URL may be wrong. | Reauthorize the channel or verify the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio. Reset a key that may have been exposed. |
| Stream health is poor or the picture drops | The available upload may be below the selected bitrate or fluctuate under shared network load. | Measure sustained upload at the PC, leave the recommended 20% headroom, reduce resolution or bitrate, and test again with representative content. |
| Broadcast stops while unattended | PC, power, network or encoder interruption. | Check which dependency failed, restore it, and verify the stream in YouTube. Arrange monitoring and response; the cited XSplit guidance does not establish automatic recovery. |
