Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo run Punjabi songs on YouTube Live with OBS, create a YouTube broadcast, enter its stream URL and key in OBS, build a scene with music and cleared visuals, and test the stream before going live. For a true 24/7 broadcast, OBS must keep running on a powered computer with reliable internet. Most importantly, you need permission to livestream every recording and composition: buying a song or finding it in a public playlist does not grant those rights.
Before you set up the stream
Enable live streaming on your channel
In YouTube Studio, confirm that the channel can livestream and has no live-streaming restrictions from the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so do this before your planned launch rather than immediately before it. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Clear the music and visuals for live use
Prepare documented permission for each song’s composition and recording, covering YouTube livestreaming, continuous use, intended territories, and any monetization you plan. Rights in the composition and in a particular recording may belong to different parties. A consumer purchase, public playlist, or personal streaming subscription is not evidence of permission to rebroadcast.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A placeholder may replace a stream when a match is detected; if the content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even when you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm this before launch with the relevant rights holders. See Copyright issues with live streams. No track-specific clearance can be assumed for Punjabi songs without identifying the tracks, owners, and territories.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Clear any artwork, video, or other visual assets in the OBS scene as well. Keep written records of permissions and any allowlisting confirmation where you can access them during the broadcast.
Create the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS
- Open YouTube Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create a new stream or schedule one. Set its title, description, visibility, and other stream options; scheduling lets you promote the event before it starts. The current controls are described in Manage live stream settings.
- Copy the connection details. In the Live Control Room, find the stream URL and stream key for the broadcast. YouTube treats the key like a password: do not show it in screenshots or share it publicly. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room.
- Enter them in OBS. Open OBS’s stream settings, select YouTube or a custom RTMP/RTMPS service as appropriate, and enter the YouTube server URL and stream key. Exact labels can vary by OBS version. Use RTMPS when available for encrypted delivery; YouTube’s encoder guidance covers supported protocols and settings at Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
- Make a scene for the broadcast. Add your authorized music playback source and a cleared still image or animation. Check the OBS audio mixer while the music plays: the intended source should register, and unrelated system audio or notification sounds should not. These are practical scene choices, not a YouTube-mandated layout.
- Set a deliberate audio path. Choose the source that actually plays your music, check its level in OBS, and listen to a test recording or preview. Avoid assuming that audio is reaching the stream just because it is audible on the computer.

Match the output resolution and frame rate to the visual, the computer’s sustained encoding capacity, and a stable upload connection. YouTube’s current H.264 recommendations include these video bitrates:

| Output profile | YouTube H.264 bitrate recommendation |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection or computer can sustain the profile. For a mostly static music visual, 60 fps may add little practical value, but do not lower bitrate on that basis without testing. YouTube recommends keeping upload capacity about 20% above the stream bitrate. For example, a 14 Mbps stream calls for roughly 16.8 Mbps of upload capacity available to the stream; other household or office traffic can reduce what is actually available. Guidance is in YouTube’s encoder settings and Streaming tips.
- Protocol: RTMP or RTMPS; prefer RTMPS where supported.
- Video codec: H.264.
- Rate control: CBR (constant bitrate).
- Keyframe interval: 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Audio: AAC or MP3; YouTube recommends 128 Kbps for stereo.
In OBS, find the output/streaming encoder controls and set the matching codec, CBR, bitrate, and keyframe interval. Labels and available encoder choices depend on the installed OBS version and hardware encoder. Set the video canvas/output resolution and frame rate to the profile you intend to send, then verify the resulting preview and stream health. Do not select a higher profile simply because the computer offers it: the network and encoder must hold it continuously.

Test, start, and monitor the broadcast
- Test representative content. Use the actual music playback path and representative motion in the scene. Confirm that the audio is present and clean and that the picture is the intended resolution and frame rate.
- Start OBS streaming and inspect Live Control Room. Check YouTube’s preview before treating the broadcast as ready. Resolve missing audio, black video, or warnings before promoting the stream as live.
- Watch stream health. Keep Live Control Room open during setup and monitor its health messages. YouTube recommends testing the actual video and audio, checking the preview, and monitoring quality; see Streaming tips.
- Verify local recording if you rely on one. For encoder events, YouTube advises preparing in advance and checking that local archive files are growing. Do not assume the stream itself is a backup recording.
Keep a local OBS stream running around the clock
With OBS running on your own computer, continuity depends on that computer, its power, the network, and the playback source all remaining available. Configure the machine so it will not sleep or restart unexpectedly during the stream, use a reliable wired connection where practical, and check that the music source and OBS remain active. Plan how you will notice a failure and restart the broadcast; the specific recovery setup depends on your operating system and OBS version.
YouTube recommends upload headroom and warns that network disruption can break a stream. A UPS for the computer and router may help ride through a local power interruption, but it will not fix an internet outage, an OBS crash, or a failed playback source. Choose any UPS for the connected load and runtime you need; there is no universal capacity for this setup.

Do not count on one uninterrupted 24-hour YouTube broadcast being archived as a single replay. YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If replay availability matters, plan a pattern that stays within the documented window and verify current Live Control Room behavior: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Quick Recap
Common problems and what to check
- YouTube does not accept the stream: Recheck that OBS has the correct stream URL and key for the intended broadcast, and that the channel is enabled for live streaming. Reset an exposed key in Live Control Room.
- Preview is black or has no sound: Confirm the correct scene is active, the visual source is visible, and the intended music source is moving on the OBS audio mixer. Check OBS mute controls and the playback device.
- Stream health warns or the stream disconnects: Check whether upload capacity is being shared or fluctuating. Lower the profile to a bitrate the connection can sustain, preserving YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, then test again.
- Copyright placeholder or interruption appears: Treat it as a rights issue, not an encoder setting. Identify the matched content, confirm permission for the recording and composition, and ask the rights holder whether Content ID allowlisting is required. Do not restart with the same material until the rights and channel status are resolved.
- The stream stops after a power or software interruption: OBS running locally cannot continue when its host computer or connection is unavailable. Restore power/network or restart OBS and the broadcast, then verify the YouTube preview and stream health.
