To stream an Odia devotional playlist on YouTube Live from a cloud PC, put rights-cleared audio or video on the remote computer, run an encoder such as OBS, and connect it to a YouTube broadcast with the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. Test the preview and sound before making the broadcast public. First decide whether your playlist is full video or audio paired with a static visual: the YouTube connection steps are similar, but media preparation and rights are not.
Before you start: choose the format and clear the rights
Full video or audio with a still image
A playlist of devotional music videos needs the video files available to the encoder. For audio-only recordings, prepare a suitable still image or other visual that you are entitled to use; YouTube Live is a video broadcast even when the main content is audio. Check that the image and every recording are cleared for live streaming and any later replay.
Confirm permission for every recording and visual
Use material your channel owns or has permission to livestream and archive, and keep evidence of the permissions or licenses. Permission for a recording to be used once, on another platform, or only in a particular context should not be assumed to cover continuous YouTube streaming and replay. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” This is practical guidance, not legal advice.
Choose a cloud-PC streaming approach
Software encoder on a cloud PC
For the cloud-PC method, run an encoder such as OBS on the remote computer, point it at the playlist media, and send the encoded output to YouTube. This is a flexible route for prerecorded material, but it relies on the virtual machine staying available, the files remaining accessible, and its network connection remaining healthy. OBS describes a direct connection from a computer to a streaming destination in its help portal.

Other architectures
- Dedicated hardware encoder: YouTube lists hardware encoders as an option, but one is not required for a software encoder running on a cloud PC.
- Managed video service: Google Cloud Live Stream API can transcode incoming live signals and create HLS or DASH outputs. This is a separate managed-video architecture, not a required component in the simple cloud PC → encoder → YouTube setup. See Google Cloud Live Stream API overview.
Compare approaches by whether you already have a cloud PC, how easily you can loop and recover the playlist, how you will monitor stability, how you will handle archives, whether you need a particular protocol or latency, and the recurring compute or service cost. Cloud-provider prices, VM specifications, and regional performance depend on the provider and configuration; no one size or cost is established here.
Set up the playlist stream step by step
- Prepare the media. Transfer the rights-cleared audio or video files and any permitted visual to a location the cloud PC’s encoder can read. Arrange the playlist in the intended order, check playback and transitions, and decide whether it should loop or stop after one pass.
- Prepare the cloud PC. Install an encoder compatible with its operating system. Configure the cloud provider’s session and power behavior so the computer does not shut down or log out during the broadcast, and decide how you will restart the encoder after a session or network failure. The exact controls vary by cloud provider and operating system.
- Enable live streaming if this is the channel’s first broadcast. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. YouTube says initial live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so complete this ahead of the planned broadcast. Check the current YouTube live-streaming setup instructions for the channel’s current eligibility and setup prompts.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, use the Stream tab for an immediate stream, or open Manage → Schedule stream to plan one. Select the title, visibility, and other broadcast details appropriate to the channel.
- Connect the encoder. Copy YouTube’s stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, include it in screenshots, or leave it in public configuration files or logs. YouTube’s setup instructions explain where to find the connection details.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Start streaming from the cloud PC and wait for YouTube Studio to show the incoming preview and stream health. Listen for clear audio, check the visual, and watch a playlist transition before going public. For a scheduled broadcast, select Go live in YouTube Studio only after the preview is ready.
- Monitor the live session. Keep YouTube Studio available to check the stream and be ready to restart the encoder if the cloud session or connection fails. Confirm that the stream remains online before promoting it.
- Plan the recording and replay separately. YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not rely on automatic preservation for a session lasting 12 hours or longer; arrange a separate recording and decide how you will make it available.
Protect the stream from copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can replace the live video with a placeholder, and continuing to stream matched material can lead to a temporary interruption or termination. YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance says that if you have a license for third-party material, you may need to ask the rights owner to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist. A license by itself may not prevent an interruption when the channel is not allowlisted.

Keep permission records, and resolve any Content ID match with the rights owner and YouTube rather than assuming that devotional or religious subject matter is exempt. Rights clearance and YouTube monetization eligibility are separate questions.
Understand monetization and reuse limits
Permission to stream recordings does not guarantee eligibility for YouTube Partner Program monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams and assess originality and authenticity at the channel level. Repeated or minimally transformed compilations may be ineligible even when the uploader has permission. A technically continuous stream does not itself establish monetization eligibility or guarantee ad revenue.

Plan for interruptions and long broadcasts
Finite broadcasts and repeat sessions
A scheduled finite stream is easier to bound: choose a start and end, check the preview, and plan the replay. If you broadcast the playlist again on another day, create a new session or schedule according to the channel’s needs and check the current YouTube Studio workflow.
Continuous or 24/7 broadcasts
A continuous feed needs an explicit uptime and recovery plan. Decide who checks YouTube Studio, how the encoder will be restarted after a cloud-PC restart or lost connection, and where a separate recording will be kept. Do not assume one long session will be archived automatically: YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance is for streams under 12 hours.

Protocol considerations
For the beginner workflow above, use the connection details YouTube provides to the encoder rather than changing protocols without a reason. YouTube says HLS has higher latency than RTMP and has specific playlist, segment, muxing, and HTTPS requirements. It is not simply a casual encoder toggle; consult YouTube’s live encoder settings and ingestion guidance before designing around it.

- You cannot start the first broadcast: live streaming may still be activating. Enable it in YouTube Studio in advance; YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: verify that the encoder has the current YouTube server URL and stream key, that the correct broadcast is open in Studio, and that the cloud PC can reach the streaming destination. If needed, copy the connection details again without sharing the key.
- The preview appears but there is no sound: check that the correct playlist source is enabled in the encoder, its audio is not muted, and the source file itself plays with sound on the cloud PC. Confirm the audio in YouTube’s preview before going live.
- A visual or recording is replaced or the stream is interrupted: check YouTube Studio for a copyright or Content ID notice. Confirm the rights cover the livestream and archive, and ask the owner about channel allowlisting if the material is licensed.
- The stream stops after a cloud-PC interruption: restart the encoder, confirm the broadcast is still available in YouTube Studio, and check that the media path and cloud session are intact. Use the monitoring and restart plan rather than assuming the encoder will recover by itself.
- The replay is missing for a long session: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours. For longer broadcasts, use a separate recording plan and verify the recording independently.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want prerecorded videos to keep a YouTube channel live without maintaining your own cloud PC and encoder session, StreamNeo is a simpler alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from StreamNeo’s cloud; it does not broadcast from a camera and streams to YouTube only.
