To show recent follows, subscriptions, tips, and other activity on your stream, configure an Event List with a provider such as Streamlabs, then add it to your streaming software. You can use Streamlabs Desktop’s built-in source, the Streamlabs OBS plugin, or a widget URL in an OBS Browser Source.
What an Event List widget does
An Event List displays recent stream activity in one on-screen panel. It is different from an Alert Box: an alert announces an individual event, while the list shows a history of recent events. Streamlabs advertises more than 30 interaction types and lists Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Kick, and Streamlabs events as supported options. Check the event types available for your connected account before setting up the overlay.
Choose how to add the widget
| Setup route | Use it when | What to add |
|---|---|---|
| Streamlabs Desktop | You stream from Streamlabs Desktop. | The Event List source. |
| OBS Studio with the Streamlabs plugin | You want the widget through the plugin’s Widgets panel. | An Event List widget in each scene where it should appear. |
| OBS Studio without the plugin, or another compatible app | You can add a web page as a Browser Source. | The Event List widget URL from Streamlabs settings. |
OBS does not generate the event content itself. For the Browser Source method, the provider’s widget URL supplies it.
Configure the Event List in Streamlabs
- Connect the relevant account. Sign in to Streamlabs and connect the platform account whose activity you want to display. Confirm the platform and event types you need are available in the account.
- Open Event List settings. Go to the Event List widget’s settings and select which platforms and event types to include. Choose only the activity that belongs in this list; individual notifications can remain in an Alert Box.
- Set the number of events and history behavior. Choose the maximum number of visible items and configure the available history options. A longer list can show more activity, but takes up more of the layout.
- Style the panel. Adjust the theme color, style, font, text color, font size, flip options, and animation settings to suit your scene. Set the animation speed and fade time as needed. A fade time of zero keeps items visible rather than fading them out.
- Copy the widget URL if using a Browser Source. Copy the Event List URL from its settings; you will paste it into the streaming application in the next section.
Add it to your streaming software
Streamlabs Desktop
- Open the scene where the list should appear.
- Add a new source and select Event List.
- Position and size the source in the preview so it fits the layout.
This route uses the source directly; you do not need to paste a widget URL.

OBS Studio with the Streamlabs plugin
- Open the OBS scene where you want the list.
- Open the Streamlabs plugin’s Widgets panel and add Event List.
- Repeat the addition for every scene where the widget should be visible.
OBS Studio without the plugin, or another app with Browser Sources
- In OBS, select the scene, then add a source and choose Browser (Browser Source).
- Paste the Event List widget URL into the source’s URL field.
- Set the width and height to suit your canvas and layout. There is no universal pixel size: choose dimensions that let the text fit without taking over the scene.
- Position the source in the preview. If you use another compatible streaming application, add its equivalent Browser Source and enter the same provider URL.
OBS’s official layout guidance describes adding third-party alerts and event lists as Browser Sources. A plugin is not required for that URL-based method.
Preview and check the scene
- Confirm the Event List source is enabled in the scene you intend to use.
- Check that the text is legible against the scene background and that the widget does not cover gameplay, captions, or other essential content.
- Verify that the selected platform and event types match the activity you expect to display.
- If the list should appear across several scenes, check each scene separately; adding a plugin widget to one scene does not add it to every other scene.
Troubleshoot a missing or incorrect event list
- The widget is absent in one scene: Check that the source is present and visible in that scene. With the OBS plugin, add the widget to each scene where it is needed.
- A Browser Source is blank or wrong: Confirm that you pasted the Event List widget URL, not a different widget’s URL, and review the provider’s platform and event selections.
- The panel is clipped or too small: Adjust the Browser Source width and height, then reposition it in the canvas.
- Expected event types do not appear: Recheck the selected platform, connected account, and event types in the provider’s settings. Availability can depend on the account and platform configuration.
- The list fades away: Review its fade-time setting. Streamlabs says a value of zero keeps the list visible.
Or let it run in the cloud
An Event List widget handles on-screen activity; it does not keep a YouTube stream running. If you also want a pre-recorded YouTube stream to continue while your computer is off, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
