How to Set Up a 24/7 Recorded UPSC Preparation Stream on YouTube in India

You can build a continuous UPSC preparation stream by preparing recorded lessons, sending them to YouTube through an encoder, and monitoring the broadcast and its local recording. First confirm your channel is eligible for live streaming. Treat 24/7 as a schedule to manage—not a promise that one broadcast will run or be archived indefinitely: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.

Choose the format and check your channel

Decide whether you want viewers to watch a live study session, a clearly labelled loop of recorded lessons, or a scheduled sequence of recorded videos. These are different editorial formats even if each runs continuously. YouTube’s published guidance covers encoder streaming and live-stream operations; it does not specify a YouTube-approved method for automating an endless loop of prerecorded video. Confirm that your chosen playback setup is supported before relying on it for continuous operation.

Before preparing the broadcast, check YouTube’s live-stream eligibility requirements: the channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.

Prepare the recordings and rights

Organize a useful UPSC schedule

Arrange the material into a sequence that makes sense to a student joining at any time—for example, subject lessons followed by revision or a break between study blocks. Put the subject and whether the video is recorded in the stream title or description, and use on-screen labels where practical. Do not present a prerecorded lesson as a live class or imply that a teacher is responding in real time.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Use content you have the right to stream

Use lessons, slides, music, and other material you own or are licensed to use. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. A live stream can be interrupted or terminated if a match is found; even if a third-party owner licensed you, the owner may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Archived livestreams may also receive Content ID claims after the broadcast ends. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyrighted content in live streams.

Set up and test an encoder stream

YouTube identifies encoder streaming as an option for video streams that need overlays and production control. OBS is one encoder technology listed by India’s National Informatics Centre, which describes live and on-demand webcast services and reports providing 24×7 webcast services to government TV channels. That institutional service is local context, not a guarantee of equivalent hosting or operations support for an individual YouTube channel; see the NIC webcast service.

  1. Prepare your encoder and video source. Add the recorded video or your intended playback source, arrange any title cards or overlays, and check that both picture and audio are present. The exact controls depend on the encoder you choose.
  2. Create a YouTube stream and enter its stream key in the encoder. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it could send a stream to your broadcast. Use YouTube’s current Live Control Room and encoder instructions rather than assuming menu labels are identical across software versions.
  3. Start the encoder before making the stream public. YouTube recommends setting up in advance and checking the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the preview shows the intended video and that audio is audible before going live.
  4. Start with a short test. Check picture, sound, overlays, and playback transitions. Verify that the encoder is writing a local recording and that the file continues to grow while the test runs. YouTube recommends checking the local archive and monitoring stream quality; consult its encoder streaming tips.
  5. Begin the planned broadcast and keep watch. Monitor the Live Control Room and encoder rather than assuming that a running schedule is still reaching viewers. Check the stream after any source, network, or encoder change.

Plan sessions and recordings around YouTube’s archive limit

YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A continuous schedule therefore should not depend on a single 24-hour broadcast producing a complete YouTube replay. Plan sensible broadcast sessions and keep a separate local recording if you need a dependable copy of the lessons or the session.

Confirm that the local file is actually being written and retain a backup if the material matters. An external drive can be used for local recording backup, but the space required depends on your video resolution, bitrate, recording hours, and how long you keep archives; YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a capacity. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Troubleshoot before leaving a stream unattended

  • The stream cannot start: Recheck channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction occurred in the preceding 90 days.
  • The Live Control Room preview is blank or wrong: Confirm the encoder is running, the intended video source is selected, and the stream key is entered correctly. Check the preview before making the broadcast public.
  • There is no sound or the picture is missing: Check the source playback and encoder inputs, then confirm both in the preview and with a test before resuming a scheduled stream.
  • The local recording is missing or stops growing: Check the encoder’s recording status and its selected save location, then confirm that the destination drive has space. Do not assume YouTube’s archive is a substitute, especially for a stream exceeding 12 hours.
  • The broadcast is interrupted after copyrighted material appears: Remove or replace material you are not authorized to use. If you have a licence, contact the rights owner about allowlisting your channel through Content ID; permission alone may not prevent a live interruption.
  • The stream ran for a day but the replay is incomplete or absent: YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use planned sessions and a local recording for material that must be retained.
