You can use IRL Pro on an Android phone to send a devotional video or audio feed to a YouTube live stream: enable live streaming on your channel, create a stream in YouTube Studio, add its connection details to IRL Pro, and verify the picture and sound in Live Control Room. That sets up a broadcast, but it does not guarantee unattended 24/7 operation. YouTube also warns that a stream running longer than 12 hours may not be archived, so plan continuity and replay preservation separately.
What IRL Pro can—and cannot—do for a 24/7 stream
IRL Pro is an Android app that sends a broadcast to a stream key using RTMP or SRT. Its documented workflow uses a single connection; it does not bond multiple connections. The setup guide explains how to start sending a feed, not how to keep a phone online unattended for days or guarantee recovery after a failure. [IRL Pro setup guide]
A devotional stream therefore needs two plans: the connection from your phone to YouTube, and the operating routine that keeps the phone powered, connected, monitored, and restartable. No particular phone model or power arrangement is established as reliable for continuous service.
1. Enable YouTube live streaming and create a stream

If the channel has never livestreamed, enable livestreaming first. YouTube says first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then open the Stream tab. Create a stream or select an existing one.

In Live Control Room, copy the YouTube server URL and stream key. Treat the key as a credential: anyone with it may be able to send content to the stream, so do not publish or share it.

2. Configure IRL Pro on Android

In the service dashboard that provides your connection details, choose RTMP or SRT and copy the full connection URL. The protocol must match in the dashboard and IRL Pro.

Open IRL Pro’s broadcast settings, select the same protocol, and paste the full URL into its URL or server field. For RTMP, the URL already ends with the key, so the documented workflow does not need a separate key field. For SRT, the key is included in the URL’s
streamid. -
Choose resolution, frame rate, and bitrate within the applicable service plan’s limits. Those caps and suggested starting settings depend on that service and plan; they are not universal YouTube requirements. Check the current limits before broadcasting.

Start broadcasting. Confirm that the service dashboard changes from “No signal” to “Streaming,” and check the reported bitrate.
The IRL Pro guide recommends SRT over RTMP for a single mobile connection in weak or changing coverage. It also notes that IRL Pro does not bond multiple connections, so SRT should not be mistaken for a multi-network failover setup.

3. Connect the feed to YouTube and test it

Enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key in the encoder’s stream settings, as described in YouTube’s encoder setup instructions. Keep the key private.

Start the encoder and check the preview in Live Control Room. YouTube creates the watch page after the encoder begins sending content. If the stream is scheduled, wait for the preview and select Go live when YouTube presents that option.

Before going public, make an unlisted test if practical. Check both image and audio at the watch page, not just on the phone: confirm the devotional material is audible, the picture is stable, and the stream is reaching YouTube.
4. Plan for 24/7 continuity and replays
Keep the phone and connection operational
A single mobile connection can fail, and the app-to-key instructions do not certify an unattended setup. Arrange stable power and network access, monitor the stream, and decide who or what will respond if the signal drops. Test a restart procedure before relying on the stream. These are operational safeguards, not guarantees of continuous uptime.

Choose between one long stream and archived sessions
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving replays matters, use planned sessions shorter than 12 hours and keep a local recording backup. That means managing session transitions rather than leaving one watch page uninterrupted all day; test how transitions appear to viewers before depending on them. Devotional subject matter does not itself exempt music from copyright rules. YouTube requires the necessary rights for live content, including music. It scans live streams for matches to third-party content; a match may replace the stream with a placeholder and, if it remains, interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube also warns that even licensed content can be interrupted unless the rights owner has added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Use material you created or have permission to use in a live broadcast.

Check that the permission covers the intended live use and any archived replay, along with relevant territories and duration.

If a rights owner licenses the material, ask whether they can add your channel to their Content ID allowlist. A license alone does not ensure that an automated match will not interrupt a stream.
Common setup problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
