YouTube Live Redirect can automatically move viewers from an ended live stream to a scheduled Premiere or another channel’s live stream—not directly to an ordinary uploaded video. Set it up in YouTube Studio under the source stream’s Customization → Redirect settings. YouTube’s current eligibility rules require the sending channel to have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Check YouTube’s Help page for the current rules and menu labels.
Set up a Live Redirect in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio, select Content, then choose the Live tab.
- Find the stream you want viewers to leave from, hover over it, and click Edit.
- Open Customization. Under Redirect, click Add.
- Select a Premiere or search for another channel’s live stream, then choose the destination.
- End the source stream. YouTube says it will show a confirmation that viewers will be redirected; autoplay then moves them to the selected destination.
YouTube’s Help page describes the behavior this way: “Once your live stream ends, autoplay will move your viewers to the Premiere or live stream of your choice.” The Studio labels can change, so use the linked Help page if your interface differs.
Check eligibility and destination permissions
According to YouTube Help, the creator sending the redirect must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. These are platform rules, not a guarantee that every destination will be selectable; verify the current requirements in YouTube Help before scheduling a broadcast.
If the destination belongs to another channel, that channel must allow your channel to redirect viewers to its live streams. YouTube’s recipient settings can allow channels it subscribes to, all channels, or only specifically approved channels. YouTube Help says the manual allowlist can include up to 100 channels. The recipient’s permission is separate from the sending channel’s eligibility.

A destination may not appear if it is neither live nor scheduled as an upcoming live stream or Premiere, or if the receiving channel’s settings do not permit the redirect. TeamYouTube described these selection conditions in a May 3, 2022 announcement; use current Help for requirements that may have changed.
What if the destination is a regular uploaded video?
Live Redirect’s documented choices are a Premiere or another channel’s live stream. It does not provide an automatic end-of-stream redirect to any arbitrary upload.

Use a Premiere for an automatic transition
If the target video can be presented as a Premiere, schedule the Premiere before the source stream and select it as the redirect destination. YouTube recommends setting up the Premiere first and telling viewers to wait a few seconds after the source ends while the screen reloads.
Use a card or tell viewers where to find a normal upload
For a regular public video, tell viewers its title or where to find it. You can also add a video info card to the stream replay in YouTube Studio’s video editor when cards are available. Cards can link to public videos, but are unavailable on videos marked made for kids. This gives replay viewers a link they can choose; it is not an automatic transition when the live broadcast ends.
