How to Send a Marathi Devotional Video Loop to YouTube Over RTMPS with FFmpeg

To loop a Marathi devotional video on YouTube, use FFmpeg to read the file in real time, encode it for YouTube Live, and publish it to the RTMPS URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio. The command below is an illustrative starting point, not a tested configuration: check YouTube’s preview and stream health, and confirm you have permission to broadcast both the video and its audio.

Before you start

  • Install an FFmpeg build that includes the encoders you plan to use, such as libx264 for H.264 video and AAC audio encoding.
  • Have a video file that plays correctly and contains the picture and sound you want to stream.
  • Make sure your sustained upload capacity can support the selected output bitrate, with extra bandwidth available for variation and other network use.
  • Establish that you have the rights needed to stream the specific recording, performance, arrangement, and video. A devotional or traditional subject does not by itself establish that a particular recording or video is free to broadcast.
  • Have access to YouTube Studio and Live Control Room for the channel. Eligibility for live streaming depends on the specific account; it is not established here.

Get the YouTube stream URL and key

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live.
  2. In Live Control Room, create a stream or select one, then copy the stream URL and stream key provided for it.
  3. Keep the key private. It functions like a credential that directs your encoder to the stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the old key in your FFmpeg publishing URL.

Use the full RTMPS publishing URL supplied for your stream. Do not post the URL with its key publicly or include it in screenshots, scripts, or logs that others can access.

Choose resolution, bitrate, and frame rate

YouTube currently lists RTMP/RTMPS ingestion; H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; and frame rates up to 60 fps. Its guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, not over four seconds. It recommends RTMPS for encryption in transit to Google. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance gives the following H.264 examples:

Output Minimum video bitrate Recommended video bitrate
720p at 30 fps 3 Mbps 8 Mbps
1080p at 30 fps 5 Mbps 14 Mbps

These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a guarantee of success for a particular file, encoder, or connection. Choose a resolution and bitrate your connection can sustain; YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload-bandwidth headroom and notes that shared networks can reduce available capacity. Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The example command uses 30 fps, a 4.5 Mbps video target, and a 60-frame GOP (two seconds at 30 fps). That is an illustrative starting shape, not a claim that it is suitable for every resolution or network. Adjust the output to your source and sustained upload capacity.

Build the FFmpeg loop command

Replace devotional-video.mp4 with the path to your file, and replace the placeholder publishing URL with the full RTMPS URL and stream key from Live Control Room.

ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i "devotional-video.mp4"
  -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 4500k -maxrate 4500k -bufsize 9000k
  -pix_fmt yuv420p -r 30 -g 60
  -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
  -f flv "rtmps://YOUTUBE_INGEST_URL/STREAM_KEY"
  • -re reads the file at its native rate for real-time output; -stream_loop -1 loops the input indefinitely. Both are input options, so they appear before -i. FFmpeg documentation
  • -c:v libx264 encodes H.264 video. -b:v sets the target video bitrate; -maxrate and -bufsize constrain rate variation in this example.
  • -pix_fmt yuv420p selects a widely supported pixel format. -r 30 sets the output frame rate to 30 fps, and -g 60 sets a 60-frame GOP, or two seconds at that frame rate.
  • -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 encodes AAC audio at the stated bitrate and sample rate.
  • -f flv selects the output container used for this publishing command.

The exact command may need adjustment for your FFmpeg build, source format, output resolution and frame rate, and the ingest URL YouTube supplies. The key appears in the publishing URL; avoid saving that URL in a public script or shell history where practical. This command has not been tested against your system or file.

Start the stream and verify it

  1. Run the command and watch FFmpeg’s output for connection errors or encoding failures.
  2. Open the stream’s preview in Live Control Room. Check that the picture is correct, the audio is audible and in sync, and the stream health indicators do not show a problem.
  3. Run a short test with representative motion and audio before relying on the stream. Confirm whether your stream settings start the public broadcast automatically or require you to click Go live in Live Control Room.
  4. To end the loop, stop the FFmpeg process. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; that does not guarantee an archive for every account or broadcast configuration. YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance

RTMPS or HLS?

For an ordinary looping video using the stream URL and key shown in Live Control Room, use the RTMPS publishing path above. YouTube describes RTMPS as the encrypted extension of RTMP. HLS is a separate ingestion option that may suit supported HDR or codec workflows, but YouTube says it has higher latency because it sends video in segments rather than as a continuous stream. Common problems and fixes

Symptom What to check
FFmpeg cannot connect or YouTube does not receive a signal Check that you copied the correct RTMPS URL and current stream key from the selected Live Control Room stream. Confirm network access and that your FFmpeg build supports the output you selected.
The stream starts, then buffers or reports poor health Compare the video bitrate with sustained upload capacity, leave YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom, and reduce bitrate or resolution if necessary. Check whether other devices or applications are using the shared connection.
Video or audio does not play as expected Play the source file locally first. Check that it contains the expected audio and video, and adapt the encoder settings to the source and FFmpeg build. Use the Live Control Room preview to verify the actual feed.
The picture looks wrong or motion is choppy Check that output resolution and frame rate match what you intend to send and that the upload can sustain the chosen bitrate. Test representative motion before making the stream public.
YouTube shows a preview but the public broadcast has not started Check the stream’s auto-start behavior and click Go live in Live Control Room if that stream requires a manual start.
The stream key may have been exposed Reset it in Live Control Room, then update the publishing URL used by FFmpeg. Do not continue using a compromised key.
