You can stream a prerecorded clip playing on an Android phone to YouTube using screen capture, but the available Larix documentation does not establish that Larix Broadcaster can take a saved video file as a direct input. The practical phone workflow is to play the clip and capture the screen with Larix Screencaster. Whether the clip’s internal audio is captured depends on Android, the device, and the playback app, so test before going live.
What Larix can—and cannot—do with a saved video
Larix Broadcaster is documented for live capture, including camera capture and RTMP output. Softvelum documents Larix Screencaster separately for capturing Android screen content. That means you should not expect to select a video saved on your phone inside Larix Broadcaster and send it directly to YouTube. To use the phone, play the clip on screen and send that screen through Larix Screencaster. Softvelum’s documentation describes Larix Broadcaster as an Android live-capture app, and separately describes Screencaster for screen capture: Larix documentation.
This route is conditional: screen capture does not guarantee that the playback audio will be included. Softvelum says Android 10 can capture audio from apps that support external recording, but the phone and playback app must also permit it. Confirm both picture and sound in YouTube’s preview before starting a public stream.
Prepare YouTube Live and copy the encoder details
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder-based live stream, then open Live Control Room.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. YouTube supplies both in Live Control Room. Treat the stream key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Prefer RTMPS when available. Choose the RTMPS server URL if the Larix app you use supports it. YouTube recommends RTMPS as a secure extension of RTMP in its encoder settings guidance.
Configure Larix for the phone-screen stream
- Open Larix Screencaster for the screen-capture workflow. Create a connection and enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Softvelum describes the conventional RTMP connection as the server or application URL followed by the stream name/key; use the fields Larix presents rather than pasting the key into an unrelated setting.
- Choose H.264/AVC as the straightforward baseline. Softvelum’s Android documentation says H.264/AVC is used throughout Larix; HEVC is a premium feature on supported devices. YouTube accepts H.264, HEVC, and AV1 ingest, but H.264 is the simple baseline for this setup.
- Set the output to 720p and select a frame rate your phone can sustain. Try 30 fps first if the handset struggles; 60 fps requires more encoding and upload capacity. A phone meeting Larix’s Android version minimum does not thereby guarantee that its processor, memory, thermal behavior, or encoder can handle a long 720p screen-capture session.
- Set bitrate deliberately and test it. YouTube’s current H.264 guidance recommends 3–8 Mbps for 720p at both 30 and 60 fps. Larix’s FAQ gives 2,000 kbps as a resolution-matched 720p setting, which is below YouTube’s recommendation. These are different references, not interchangeable promises: a weak phone or uplink may not sustain YouTube’s range reliably.
- Use a two-second keyframe interval if the encoder exposes the setting. YouTube recommends two seconds and sets a maximum of four seconds. You may not be able to control every encoder parameter in a mobile screen-capture workflow.
- Start playback and screen streaming. Check that the clip is playing, then start the Screencaster stream. In Live Control Room, inspect the preview for moving video and audible clip sound, and complete the manual go-live action if YouTube prompts for it.
For a conventional RTMP URL, Softvelum describes the format as the server/application URL followed by the stream name/key. The exact field names and available encoder controls can vary by Larix app and version.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Choose settings around the phone and connection
| Choice | What it means | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | YouTube’s current H.264 recommendation is 3–8 Mbps; Larix’s FAQ gives 2,000 kbps as a 720p matched value. | Start here for a lower-end handset, then test the actual device and uplink. YouTube’s recommended range is not a guarantee that the phone can encode or upload it reliably. |
| 720p at 60 fps | YouTube’s current H.264 recommendation is also 3–8 Mbps; the higher frame rate still increases the work expected of a weak phone. | Use only if the handset remains stable and the stream health stays good in a representative test. |
| Lower resolution or frame rate | Reduces encoding and upload demands, though the resulting picture is no longer 720p or may be less smooth. | Prefer this over repeatedly attempting 720p when the phone heats up, drops frames, or the connection cannot sustain the stream. |
Softvelum notes that Android devices commonly use variable bitrate (VBR), which can rise above the configured value to preserve quality, especially during motion. A displayed bitrate setting may therefore not be a strict ceiling. Softvelum says a device with constant bitrate (CBR) support is needed when a strict low bitrate is required.
Use reliable Wi-Fi or cellular coverage and check that available upload bandwidth can accommodate the stream. YouTube recommends testing upload speed, testing before the event, and monitoring stream health. A short private or unlisted test with similar movement and audio to the intended clip is more useful than assuming the phone will behave the same during a long session.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Check the low-end phone before relying on it
- Android compatibility: Softvelum lists Android 7.0 or later as the minimum for Larix Broadcaster. That minimum does not certify a phone’s performance for 720p screen capture.
- Internal audio: Test the exact playback app and phone. Android 10 can capture audio from apps that support external recording, according to Softvelum; support is not universal.
- Notifications and interruptions: Silence notifications where practical and check whether switching apps, locking the screen, or the phone entering sleep interrupts capture or playback.
- Heat and battery: For a long session, monitor the phone for heat and power drain during the test. The available documentation does not establish a universal accessory or hardware threshold.
- Stream health: Watch YouTube’s Live Control Room preview and health indicators rather than relying only on Larix’s local status.
Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube receives no picture | Wrong server URL or key, an inactive connection, or screen capture not started. | Recheck the server URL and stream key in the Larix connection, restart screen capture, and verify the preview in Live Control Room. |
| Picture works but clip audio is missing | The playback app or Android device does not permit internal audio capture. | Test audio capture on the actual phone and app. Do not assume that screen video capture includes sound; verify audible audio in the YouTube preview. |
| Stream disconnects, buffers, or reports poor health | Unstable upload capacity, bitrate spikes from VBR, or the phone struggling to encode. | Try a more reliable connection, reduce frame rate or resolution, and retest. If strict bitrate control matters, check whether the device supports CBR. |
| Phone becomes hot or playback stops | The device is under sustained screen-capture, encoding, and network load, or playback is interrupted. | Run a representative test, monitor heat and battery, and check sleep, notification, and app-switching behavior. Use a more capable device or a lower output setting if the session is unstable. |
| Stream is connected but not live to viewers | The encoder connection may be active while YouTube still awaits the manual go-live step. | Check Live Control Room and complete its go-live action when prompted. |
Copyright and YouTube channel considerations
Having a video file on your phone does not establish that you have the rights to stream it. Before broadcasting, confirm that you have permission for the video, music, and other included material. YouTube may apply copyright enforcement to live streams. Separately, whether a channel can monetize reused material is a channel-level policy question; permission to stream content and eligibility for monetization are not the same thing. Review YouTube’s current policies for the specific content and channel before relying on a stream as a monetized format.
