YouTube’s documented native workflow does not provide a weekly recurring livestream rule that automatically selects a different playlist for each weekday. Instead, organize your devotional videos into playlists, schedule a separate Live event for each weekday, and start that day’s feed through an encoder or another supported production workflow. For an Indian audience, state the event time in the intended viewers’ time zone—such as Indian Standard Time (IST)—and confirm music rights before streaming.
What YouTube scheduling does—and does not do
A scheduled YouTube Live event creates an upcoming livestream event and watch page. It does not itself send audio or video, start an encoder, or choose a playlist on a recurring weekday schedule. YouTube documents event scheduling and playlist management as separate tasks.
A playlist helps organize published videos and set their order; it is not the live-output mechanism. To broadcast a prepared sequence as a livestream, send the program through an encoder or another supported production workflow. The native documented approach is to schedule a separate event for each weekday and start the corresponding feed at the planned time. The reviewed YouTube Help guidance does not establish that no third-party system can automate this; it simply does not document a native weekday-to-playlist recurring rule.
Plan a weekly devotional schedule
Before opening Live Control Room, decide what viewers should expect each day. A simple planning grid helps keep the event pages, playlists, and operating schedule aligned.

Try to use a sustainable cadence and consistent start times, and tell viewers about changes. YouTube’s schedule advice recommends introducing the livestream schedule and communicating changes to fans: Upload schedule tips – Live. The choice of devotional theme and time is yours; YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a particular schedule or Indian time slot.
Organize the devotional videos into playlists
- Create a playlist in YouTube Studio. Make one for each weekday or for each theme you intend to use, and give it a clear title and description.
- Add the videos and set their visibility. Check that each intended recording is available to the audience you expect.
- Arrange the sequence. YouTube lets creators change playlist order by dragging videos. Review the order so the intended opening and transitions are clear.
Playlist setup and ordering are covered in Create and manage playlists. Preparing a playlist does not make it play as a livestream: the separate encoder or production workflow must send the actual program.

Schedule one Live event for each weekday
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Open Manage → Schedule stream.
- Create a new event, or choose to reuse settings from an earlier event.
- Review the title, description, privacy setting, and scheduled date and time. Make the weekday and time zone clear in the event details or channel communications.
- Repeat for the other days in your weekly plan. YouTube’s documented scheduling steps are in its Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder guidance.
A scheduled event can appear to viewers as upcoming, and viewers may choose Notify me for a reminder; see YouTube’s encoder and scheduling guidance. Reusing settings can reduce repeated setup, but it copies prior event details and the stream key. Before each event, verify the copied metadata, time, and key. Treat the stream key as a credential: do not publish or share it.
Start the feed at the scheduled time
The event page being scheduled does not start the program. At the planned time, connect your encoder or supported production workflow to the event using YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. Start the encoder, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, check that the intended audio and video are reaching YouTube, then select Go live in Live Control Room. The exact encoder controls depend on the production software you use; the YouTube-side sequence is described in YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.

Check music rights and plan for the archive
Rights for devotional recordings
Devotional subject matter does not by itself make a recording free to use. Before streaming, verify that you have the necessary rights for both the composition and the sound recording. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility for necessary music licensing rights on the provider: YouTube Terms of Service.
YouTube’s copyright guidance explains that a live stream matched to third-party content may be replaced with a placeholder and, if the match continues, interrupted or terminated. Even where you have permission, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its allowlist for the stream to proceed without a match-related interruption. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Long-program backups
YouTube can automatically archive streams under 12 hours. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, so keep a local recording as a backup for a longer devotional program. This threshold and qualification are stated in YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose between scheduled events and external automation
| Approach | What it provides | What you still need to handle |
|---|---|---|
| Separate scheduled event for each weekday | A distinct upcoming event and watch page for each scheduled date; viewers can opt into a reminder. | Set up and review each event, then start the day’s encoder or production feed. |
| External or always-on production workflow | May reduce manual starts if separately configured to deliver the intended weekday program. | Choose, configure, and maintain that separate system; the reviewed YouTube guidance does not document a native weekday-playlist automation rule. |
These are different layers: playlists organize videos, while an encoder or production workflow supplies the live output. Do not assume that scheduling an event links it to a playlist or automatically starts a feed.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The event is visible, but nothing is playing: Scheduling creates the event page, not the feed. Connect and start the encoder, check for a preview in Live Control Room, then select Go live.
- The wrong songs or order appear: Check the intended playlist and its ordering, then confirm that the encoder or production workflow is sending that sequence. Editing a playlist alone does not change a separately prepared live output.
- The event has the wrong day, time, title, or description: Review the details in Live Control Room → Manage. If you reused settings, inspect copied metadata and the scheduled time instead of assuming they match the new weekday.
- The encoder will not connect to the scheduled event: Verify that it is using the correct event’s stream URL and key. If settings were reused, check that you selected the intended event and copied key; keep the key private.
- The stream is interrupted after music matching: Review your rights for the composition and recording. If licensed content is still matched, check with the rights holder about allowlisting your channel, as described in YouTube’s live copyright guidance.
- A long broadcast is missing from the archive: Streams over 12 hours may not be captured automatically. Keep a local recording for long programs rather than relying only on YouTube’s archive.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube channel live with uploaded devotional videos, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera, and it streams to YouTube.
Each slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot without re-encoding or quality tiers. It includes 10 GB of storage per slot, pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account; afterward, the same product is available for different billing lengths:
- Daily: $0.99 per day
- Weekly: $2.99 per week
- Monthly: $9.99 per month
- 6 months: $49.99 for 6 months
- Yearly: $89.99 a year
For creators in India, UPI and cards are supported; card checkout is available worldwide. Five or more slots: contact support. Compare the workflow at StreamNeo. For a devotional schedule, you still need to check music rights and set the intended stream content; automation does not change YouTube’s copyright requirements.
