To schedule prerecorded videos as a continuous YouTube livestream, schedule the event in YouTube Studio, then use a cloud playout service to send a playlist to that event. The scheduled event creates an upcoming watch page; it does not play your videos by itself. Your cloud service must supply the video feed using YouTube’s stream URL and key, or an authorized integration.
How the scheduled event and video feed work together
YouTube scheduling and video playout are separate jobs. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, scheduling creates an upcoming event that viewers can find and set reminders for. An encoder or cloud service still needs to send the video and audio. For continuous prerecorded playback without leaving a computer running, choose a cloud service that explicitly supports prerecorded playlists or continuous YouTube playout.
YouTube’s verified encoder directory lists StreamNeo at StreamNeo as a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. The same directory describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming on YouTube and Upstream.so as a browser-based 24/7 streaming studio. Directory listings are a way to discover services, not an endorsement or a guarantee of their performance or terms.
Before scheduling: check channel access and content rights
Confirm live streaming is enabled
YouTube’s current eligibility guidance requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. YouTube states that live streamers must be at least 16. First-time live-streaming access can take up to 24 hours to become available, so enable it in advance rather than waiting until your planned start.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Clear the rights for everything in the playlist
Use only video and audio that you have the right to stream on YouTube. A file being available online, or having permission to download it, does not by itself establish permission to livestream it. Check rights for archival footage, music, photographs, narration, and any third-party clips. YouTube monetization is available only to eligible YouTube Partner Program channels; a continuous prerecorded broadcast is not automatically eligible or monetized.
Schedule the YouTube event
- Open the Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live → Manage.
- Start a scheduled stream: Choose Schedule Stream. Create a new event or reuse settings where appropriate.
- Set the event details: Enter the title, description, privacy, audience setting, and planned start time. Check the time zone and date before saving.
- Copy the connection details: Open the event’s stream settings and copy the stream URL and stream key for the cloud service. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Do not post it publicly, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Promote the watch page: Share the upcoming event link. Scheduling can surface the event to subscribers and let viewers opt into a notification when it starts.
Choose and configure the cloud playout service
Put the service fit first
For this workflow, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs an always-on YouTube stream from uploaded videos in the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives a first day free. YouTube’s encoder directory also lists Gyre for prerecorded 24/7 YouTube streams and Upstream.so for browser-based 24/7 streaming. Confirm each provider’s current playlist, scheduling, recovery, output, storage, and plan details directly; YouTube’s directory does not compare those features.

Load files and arrange playback
- Upload or select video files for which you have streaming rights.
- Create a playlist or rotation and arrange the playback order. Decide whether the service should begin immediately or at the event’s start time.
- Check the provider’s supported codecs, resolution, frame rate, audio format, file size, and storage allowance against your media. Exact controls and limits vary by service.
- Choose continuous looping if that is the intended schedule. Check the provider’s behavior at the end of a playlist and when a file cannot be played.
Connect the cloud output to YouTube
Use the service’s authorized YouTube integration if it offers one. Otherwise, enter the stream URL and stream key copied from the scheduled event into the service’s YouTube output settings. Select the service’s supported protocol and a compatible output profile. YouTube recommends RTMPS for ingest, and its encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265, or AV1 video depending on workflow, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and frame rates up to 60 fps.
Set output quality and verify the stream
Match the profile to the source and YouTube guidance
Do not assume a single bitrate suits every resolution and frame rate. Use YouTube’s current resolution-and-bitrate recommendations alongside the cloud provider’s available presets. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe frequency and says it should not exceed four seconds. Keep the uploaded source and selected output profile compatible; a cloud service may have its own ingest or playback limits.

If you operate an encoder on your own network, YouTube recommends upload bandwidth above the total stream bitrate and suggests 20% headroom. In a cloud-hosted workflow, the provider’s network and ingest capacity are also dependencies, so check the service’s specifications and test the complete path rather than relying only on your home connection speed.
Start early and inspect the actual playback
- Start the cloud feed early enough to allow YouTube’s Live Control Room to detect it and show a preview.
- Check the preview and stream health, including picture, audio level, synchronization, and any warnings.
- Open the public watch page on a separate device, such as a phone, and confirm that viewers see and hear the intended content.
- Check that the playlist advances or loops as expected. For an important broadcast, test the provider’s disconnect and recovery behavior before relying on it unattended.
YouTube recommends testing the stream and preparing a backup encoder for production events where continuity matters. A cloud service can remove the need to keep a local computer running, but it does not remove the need to validate the feed and understand the provider’s recovery behavior.

Plan for protocol, latency, and archives
RTMPS is the usual starting point
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted form of RTMP. Use it when supported by the cloud provider and compatible with your workflow.
Use HLS only when its trade-offs fit
YouTube supports HLS ingest for certain codec and HDR workflows, but it has higher latency than RTMP because it sends video in segments. YouTube’s HLS requirements include TS segments of 1–4 seconds, a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments, and HTTPS POST/PUT. Use HLS only if your provider supports those specific requirements and the added latency is acceptable.

Do not assume a very long stream becomes one complete archive
YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For a continuous broadcast longer than that, arrange an explicit recording, restart, or segmentation plan; do not assume YouTube will produce one complete automatic archive. YouTube’s auto-start and auto-stop settings are available for supported encoder workflows, but confirm that your selected workflow supports the behavior you need.
Compare cloud services on the details that affect continuity
| Option | What the YouTube directory establishes | What to verify before relying on it |

Troubleshooting common failures
YouTube shows no incoming stream
- Check the event and output destination: Make sure the cloud service is sending to the stream URL and key belonging to the scheduled event, not an old event or another channel.
- Check the key: Re-enter it if it may have been copied incorrectly or reset. Keep the replacement private.
- Check the service status: Confirm that the provider reports its output as started and that the selected protocol is supported.
The preview appears, but playback is unstable or low quality
- Compare the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, and keyframe interval with YouTube’s current encoder guidance and the provider’s supported output.
- For a locally operated encoder, check upload capacity and preserve YouTube’s suggested 20% bandwidth headroom. For a cloud workflow, ask the provider to investigate its output path if the feed is unstable.
- Run another end-to-end test and inspect stream health before the scheduled event.
Video plays but audio is missing or wrong
- Check that the source file contains the intended audio track and that the provider is not configured to mute or select another track.
- Confirm the audio format is compatible with YouTube’s encoder guidance (AAC or MP3), then inspect the preview and public playback again.
The stream stops or does not loop
- Check whether the playlist is configured to repeat and what the service does when it reaches its end.
- Check the provider’s error and recovery settings for a failed file or dropped connection. Do not assume reconnect behavior is identical across services.
- For a broadcast beyond 12 hours, use your planned archive or segmentation approach rather than relying on a single automatic YouTube archive.
