You can schedule a YouTube live event for your Malayalam and Kannada playlist, but scheduling the event does not make YouTube rotate playlist videos or start a 24/7 broadcast by itself. You still need a software or hardware encoder to send the video and audio feed, and you must start that feed. For continuous playback, arrange looping in your playout setup and make sure you have the rights to stream every track.
What YouTube scheduling does—and does not do
YouTube Studio lets you create an upcoming encoder livestream. The scheduled event gives viewers a page to visit and, where available, a reminder to set. At broadcast time, an encoder sends your playlist output to YouTube; you check the preview and start the stream. YouTube’s help for scheduled encoder streams does not establish a native Studio feature that automatically rotates playlists forever.
Think of the setup as two separate jobs: schedule the event in YouTube Studio, then prepare a playout system that sends the Malayalam and Kannada programming continuously. A 24/7 channel is an operational goal, not a setting you switch on in the scheduling form.
Check channel eligibility before scheduling
- Make sure the channel is verified and live streaming is enabled. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Check that the channel has had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days and meets YouTube’s minimum age requirement.
- Choose an encoder approach: streaming software or a standalone hardware encoder. YouTube does not require a particular model or an expensive computer to get started; see its encoder options and setup guidance.
Schedule the YouTube live event
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Open Manage, then choose Schedule stream.
- Select Create new to set up an event, or reuse settings from an earlier stream. Set the event details and schedule it.
- Share the upcoming event page with viewers. Eligible viewers can opt in to receive a reminder.
These labels and steps follow YouTube’s scheduled livestream instructions. YouTube may update Studio’s interface, so check its current help page if a label has changed.

Connect the encoder and start the broadcast
- Open the scheduled event’s stream settings in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room and copy its stream URL and stream key.
- In your encoder’s connection settings, enter the stream URL and key. Use the encoder’s playlist or looping controls to produce the continuous output you intend to broadcast; YouTube’s scheduled-event form is not itself a playlist player.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password, and reset it if you believe someone else has accessed it. YouTube explains stream-key handling in its encoder setup guidance.
- Start the encoder and wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Check picture and sound, then start the YouTube broadcast at the scheduled time.
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time so you can check the preview. Those are preparation recommendations, not a guarantee that a long-running broadcast will stay uninterrupted; see YouTube’s encoder tips.
Clear music rights before putting the channel on air
A playlist being available to stream or legally usable in an ordinary upload does not automatically mean it is cleared for a livestream. Before scheduling Malayalam or Kannada tracks, document permission for the sound recordings and compositions, live streaming, the territories where the stream will be available, and any archived replay you plan to offer.

YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. A detected match can lead to a warning, a placeholder image, interruption, or termination. The channel operator is responsible for obtaining necessary rights; YouTube’s livestream terms specifically put music licensing responsibility on the creator. If you have a license, confirm whether the rights holder needs to allowlist your channel through Content ID.
- Original music: Use it only if you control or have permission for all relevant recording and composition rights, including live and replay use.
- YouTube Audio Library: Check the terms for each track and confirm they cover your intended livestream use.
- External licenses: Read the actual license for livestreams, territories, monetization, and archived replays. A “free” label is not proof of coverage.
YouTube’s Creator Music guidance says the licensing and revenue-sharing tracks covered there are for long-form videos, not livestreams. Do not assume a Creator Music track license covers this channel’s live broadcast; check YouTube’s Creator Music usage guidance and its safe-music guidance.

Plan continuity and replays separately
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not promise a complete replay of a continuous 24-hour stream. If a replay matters, consider whether shorter scheduled sessions or a separate local recording and backup plan suit your needs; neither guarantees a complete archive of a 24/7 operation. Choose software or a hardware encoder

Neither choice removes the need to manage music rights, schedule the YouTube event, connect the stream key, and monitor the broadcast. For a continuous channel, consider what will happen if the encoder or its internet connection stops.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
The channel cannot go live yet
Confirm verification and live-streaming eligibility. If this is the channel’s first livestream, activation may take up to 24 hours. Check for a restriction in the previous 90 days and the applicable age requirement in YouTube’s eligibility guidance.
The event is scheduled, but viewers see no stream
A scheduled event page is not the broadcast feed. Start the encoder with the correct event’s stream URL and key, wait for the preview, and then start the stream in Live Control Room.

The encoder does not connect
Check that the stream URL and key match the scheduled event, that the key has not been reset, and that the encoder is online. If a key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder with the new key.
The stream shows a warning or placeholder image, or stops
Review YouTube’s notification and the music used in the feed. A third-party content match can affect the livestream; obtain rights that cover live use and ask the rights holder whether channel allowlisting is needed.
The replay is incomplete or missing
Do not rely on YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive guidance as a promise of a full 24-hour replay. If preserving the program matters, plan recording and backups separately or schedule shorter sessions.
