To run several podcast shows back-to-back on one continuous YouTube watch page, schedule one YouTube Live event, then send it a single program feed from an encoder. Arrange the episodes, live hosts, graphics and transitions in your production workflow—not in YouTube’s event scheduler. YouTube’s documented encoder workflow connects a feed to a scheduled event; it does not describe a native scheduler for sequencing separate shows inside that event. YouTube’s encoder instructions
Choose how the shows will reach the stream
The key distinction is whether the shows are prerecorded, live, or a mix. YouTube receives one continuous feed from the encoder; your production setup determines what appears in that feed and when it changes.
- Prerecorded episodes: Queue the files in an encoder or production workflow that can play them in sequence and make the transitions you want.
- Live hosts: Bring the host’s audio and video into the production setup, and switch between hosts and prerecorded segments there.
- Mixed program: Plan both kinds of sources and rehearse every handoff. The transition is a production-side operation, not a YouTube-native multi-show schedule.
YouTube supports software and hardware encoder workflows and does not identify one encoder as best for this use case. Choose a setup you can operate reliably, test it, and ensure its output fits the upload connection available to you. YouTube’s live streaming tips
Schedule one event in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, select Manage, then choose Schedule stream.
- Reuse settings from a previous stream or create a new event.
- Set the event’s title, description, thumbnail, visibility and scheduled time for the full broadcast. Check these details before publishing; viewers will have one upcoming event and one watch page for the continuous program.
Scheduling an event does not schedule its internal show order. Keep a separate running order with each episode, host segment, transition cue and planned start time. YouTube’s scheduling instructions

Build the continuous program feed
Prepare the complete sequence in the encoder or production setup that will send the stream. Gather the episode files and any live inputs, then specify how each segment begins and ends. Decide what viewers should see and hear between shows: for example, a transition, slate or the next episode’s opening. The exact controls vary by encoder, so confirm that your selected setup can make the required transitions before relying on it.
- Put the shows in their intended order and label the files or inputs clearly.
- Set transition cues and decide who is responsible for each handoff during the broadcast.
- Check that audio continues cleanly across changes in source, and that the picture or slate changes as intended.
- Keep a local recording if you need a dependable copy of the finished program or the broadcast will run longer than YouTube’s stated automatic-archive window.
Do not assume YouTube will automatically move from one show to the next. Its documented workflow is to receive an encoder feed; sequencing is part of your production plan.

Connect the encoder and go live
- In the scheduled event’s stream settings, obtain the stream URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder. A stream key is a credential that lets the encoder send its feed to YouTube; keep it private and reset it if it is compromised. YouTube’s stream settings guidance
- Configure the encoder’s output quality for what your upload connection can sustain reliably. YouTube’s encoder guidance covers supported settings, bitrates and resolutions; use the current recommendations there rather than assuming a resolution will work on every connection. Choose live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions
- Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it; YouTube recommends this encrypted extension of RTMP for live ingestion. YouTube encoder settings
- Start the encoder and wait for its feed to appear in the Live Control Room preview. Check the picture and sound, then start the event in Live Control Room at the planned time.
Rehearse transitions and monitor the broadcast
Test the full run of shows, or at minimum a representative rehearsal that includes every kind of handoff. Use audio and motion similar to the actual program. Confirm incoming and outgoing levels, the picture or slate, transition timing and encoder connection between segments. YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours ahead and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event. These are preparation recommendations, not guarantees that a setup will work without testing. YouTube’s live streaming tips
During the event, watch the Live Control Room preview and stream health, listen for audio problems, and verify that the event is accessible on the channel and watch pages. Check mobile access as well. If you use a backup encoder, test failover in advance rather than assuming it will take over correctly. YouTube’s streaming tips

Reuse settings without reusing the wrong schedule
YouTube lets creators reuse stream settings and use a custom stream key for reuse. This can reduce repeated setup, but it does not create an automatic sequence of podcast shows. For each broadcast, confirm the event-specific title, description, thumbnail, privacy, date and show order. YouTube also provides auto-start and auto-stop settings; check their behavior in the current Live Control Room before making them part of your workflow. YouTube’s stream settings
End the event and protect the replay
Follow YouTube’s documented end procedure in Live Control Room and stop sending the encoder feed. YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish automatic full archiving for a broadcast longer than 12 hours, so make a local recording if retaining the complete replay matters. Common problems and fixes
- The scheduled event shows no encoder feed: Check that the encoder has the correct event’s stream URL and key, is running, and has a working upload connection. Wait for the preview before starting the event.
- A show change causes silence or a picture interruption: Rehearse the handoff with the actual sources. Check outgoing and incoming audio, transition cues and whether the encoder remains connected while its source changes.
- The stream health deteriorates: Check the upload connection and encoder output settings. Reduce output demands to a quality the connection can sustain, then test again before the event. YouTube advises matching quality to reliable upload capacity.
- The wrong show or event details appear: Verify the running order and check the event title, description, thumbnail, visibility and date before going live. Reusing settings does not verify event-specific details.
- The replay is incomplete or unavailable: YouTube’s automatic-archive statement applies to streams under 12 hours. For longer broadcasts or when a complete copy is essential, record locally and check the recording after the event.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your podcast shows are prerecorded files, StreamNeo can loop an uploaded video or playlist as a continuous YouTube stream: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It is for uploaded videos, not live camera or host input; use an encoder production workflow for live hosts or live switching. Nothing has to stay on at home: the stream runs in the cloud. Every quality up to 4K 60fps streams as uploaded at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
