You can loop a playlist while watching YouTube, or schedule a livestream event in Live Control Room, but those are separate features. If you want prerecorded files broadcast as a live stream, you need a workflow or service built for that; confirm with the provider whether it can track playback history and skip previously aired items.
What YouTube’s playlist and livestream controls actually do
Loop repeats a playlist while you watch
YouTube’s playlist Loop control repeats a watch playlist. To use it, open a video that belongs to a playlist, expand the playlist, and click Loop. YouTube’s instructions do not describe scheduling that playlist as a livestream or keeping a history to skip items on a later run. YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists
Live Control Room schedules a livestream event
For an encoder-based stream, YouTube’s documented path is Live Control Room → Manage → Schedule stream. Connect an encoder with the stream URL and stream key. When it is time to broadcast, start the encoder, wait for the preview, and click Go live. This schedules the event; it does not choose videos from a YouTube watch playlist or skip videos based on whether they have aired. YouTube Help: Schedule a live stream
YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Treat the key as a credential: use it only in the encoder or service you intend to send video to, and do not share it publicly. YouTube Help: Create and manage your stream key

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Live DVR is a viewer feature, not playlist automation
Live DVR lets viewers pause, rewind, and resume a stream. YouTube says rewind may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours, and viewers cannot seek to a point before the stream began. DVR does not control the source playlist or determine which videos air next. YouTube Help: Use DVR on live streams
Choose the workflow that matches what you mean
- A playlist of YouTube watch-page videos: You can loop it for ordinary viewing, but YouTube’s documented controls do not schedule it as a live broadcast with skip-already-played tracking.
- A one-time scheduled live event: Schedule the event in Live Control Room and send an encoder feed at the appointed time. This schedules the stream, not a sequence of YouTube playlist videos.
- Uploaded video files broadcast as live: Use a file-based playout workflow. Check whether it supports a one-time schedule or continuous programming, and ask explicitly whether it remembers aired items and skips them on a later run.
- A stream that should keep running without your computer: Consider a cloud service, but distinguish simple looping or sequential playback from confirmed playback-history behavior. A claim that a service can run a continuous playlist is not, by itself, proof that it skips previously played videos.
How to schedule an encoder-based YouTube livestream
These steps schedule the live event itself. They do not turn a YouTube watch playlist into a stateful, skip-already-played source.

- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and select Manage.
- Choose Schedule stream and create the event with its planned date and time.
- Copy the stream URL and key from the event’s stream settings into your encoder. YouTube treats the key as a credential; do not disclose it.
- At broadcast time, start the encoder. Wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room.
- Click Go live when the preview is ready. Scheduling the event does not automatically start a computer-based encoder or supply prerecorded playlist items.
For a prerecorded-file playlist, configure the files and playback order in the playout system that will send the encoder feed. Before relying on it for recurring programming, verify the exact behavior you need: whether it resumes, repeats, advances sequentially, or excludes items that have aired before. The YouTube controls above do not supply that history rule.
Services for prerecorded files: verify the skip rule
Castr documents uploading MP4 files, arranging them into a playlist, choosing either a loop or a scheduled date and time, and connecting destinations including YouTube. It also documents TV Playout timetables for uploaded video and livestream content. Those capabilities support scheduled or repeating file-based broadcasts, but do not establish that Castr skips items based on whether they have already played in a YouTube playlist. Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos without requiring your computer or home connection to stay on. It does not document skipping videos because they previously aired, so confirm that distinction if playback history is essential.

Before scheduling prerecorded content, make sure you have the rights to every video and its audio. A video being publicly available on YouTube does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast it. Also consider whether a channel built around repeated or minimally changed material meets YouTube’s applicable monetization policies; eligibility is not guaranteed simply because a stream runs continuously. Review YouTube’s current rules for the channel and content before broadcasting.

Troubleshooting: why the playlist may not behave as expected
- The Loop button repeats a watch playlist, but no livestream is scheduled: Loop is a playlist viewing control. Schedule the live event separately in Live Control Room and provide an encoder feed.
- The event is scheduled but no video appears: Start the encoder using that event’s stream URL and key, then wait for the preview before selecting Go live.
- The broadcast runs, but a video plays again: Looping or sequential playlist playback is not the same as tracking previously aired items. Check the playout system’s documented playback-history options and ask the provider about skip behavior.
- A viewer cannot rewind to the beginning: DVR is a viewer control, and YouTube notes rewind limitations on streams longer than 12 hours. It does not affect which source video plays next.
- You suspect the stream key was exposed: Treat it like a password. Use YouTube’s stream-key management controls to replace or manage the key, then update the encoder or service using it.
