Schedule one YouTube Live event in YouTube Studio, then use OBS Studio with its VLC Video source to play local lesson files into that event. These are separate jobs: YouTube creates the viewer-facing event and OBS sends the video feed. Scheduling a YouTube channel playlist does not make its videos go live one after another.
What you are scheduling—and what you are not
A YouTube Live broadcast represents one YouTube video, not a queue of videos from a channel playlist. To show several prerecorded lessons as one live broadcast, create a scheduled event in Studio and feed it a sequential playlist of local files through an encoder such as OBS. YouTube’s encoder workflow is described in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder; the Live Streaming API documentation likewise models each broadcast as one video.
This workflow is for prerecorded local lesson files. OBS’s documented VLC Video source does not establish a way to import a YouTube channel playlist as its playback queue. YouTube’s separate scheduled-video feature publishes an uploaded video at a chosen time; it is not a live broadcast receiving an encoder feed. See Schedule video publish time.
Before you schedule the first lesson
Confirm live access
Verify the channel and check that it has no livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube says first-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well ahead of the first class. See Get started with live streaming.

Prepare and order the lesson files
Put the authorized video files in the intended teaching order and test them in OBS Studio’s VLC Video source. Install VLC, which OBS requires for this source. In the source’s playlist controls, keep the listed order rather than selecting shuffle; enable looping only if the school timetable calls for the sequence to repeat. OBS documents these controls in Media Sources.
Plan audience access and rights
Choose the event’s audience and privacy settings for the intended viewers, then verify that the resulting event page is accessible to them. YouTube supports public, private, and unlisted settings. Use lesson videos the school is authorized to stream; a scheduled event does not grant rights to copyrighted material.
Create the scheduled YouTube Live event

Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule Stream.

Create a new stream or reuse prior settings. Enter the title and event details, select the appropriate audience and privacy options, and set the intended start time.

Before saving, compare the date and time shown in Studio with the school’s intended local timetable in India. Check the resulting event page as well. The cited guidance does not establish every current timezone control in Studio, so do not assume that an unverified display is in the school’s local time.

Save the event and share its watch-page link with students, parents, or staff. Viewers may see the event as upcoming and opt into a reminder.
YouTube documents the scheduling workflow in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. The documentation establishes scheduled start and end fields, but does not confirm a recurring school-bell timetable feature; check the current Studio interface rather than assuming one exists.
Connect OBS playback to the event

In OBS, add a VLC Video source and load the local lesson files in the intended sequence. Test transitions and audio levels before the class. Set the playlist to sequential playback and choose whether it should loop.

In the event’s Live Control Room, obtain the stream URL and stream key using the encoder setup options. Treat the key like a password: do not share or display it publicly.

In OBS, configure the stream destination with YouTube’s stream URL and key. OBS provides the composed feed; the scheduled Studio event provides the viewer-facing live page. Start the encoder when you are ready to send that feed.

Confirm in Live Control Room that YouTube is receiving the signal and preview the video before viewers arrive. The encoder setup and connection steps are covered by YouTube’s encoder guide.
Run a school-hours preflight
YouTube’s published guidance recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Use that lead time to catch access, playback, or connection problems rather than discovering them during class.

Open the event page as a viewer would and verify that the intended audience can reach it.

Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health; confirm picture, motion, and audio, including that lesson narration is audible and not clipped.

Check the playlist order and that the next lesson follows as expected. Confirm loop behavior if the sequence is meant to repeat.

For network planning, YouTube recommends 20% upload bandwidth headroom beyond the total stream bitrate. This is platform guidance, not a guarantee that a connection will remain stable.

Stop the encoder after the broadcast. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. If the recording matters for revision or absent students, keep a local archive or the original lesson files rather than relying only on YouTube’s archive. See Archive live streams.
