Schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio, then put its watch-page link in a Google Calendar event for your team. Calendar helps coordinate the time and participants; it does not schedule or start the YouTube broadcast. YouTube playlists organize videos such as livestream archives and highlight clips—they are not a way to schedule a playlist as a livestream.
Schedule the livestream in YouTube Studio

In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live → Manage. Choose the option to schedule a stream and follow the setup prompts. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe the scheduling workflow in Live Control Room.

Set the stream’s details and planned time. Choose or reuse stream settings as appropriate, then save. Scheduling creates an upcoming stream and a watch-page URL that you can share; it does not begin broadcasting.

Copy the scheduled stream’s watch URL. Keep it available for the Calendar event and for sharing with viewers.

YouTube also supports streaming through a webcam. In that route, the setup asks you to choose a webcam and microphone. The encoder route instead uses a stream URL and key. Pick the workflow that matches your setup; a webcam is not required for encoder streaming. See YouTube’s webcam streaming instructions and encoder instructions.
Add the stream to Google Calendar

Create a Calendar event for the production’s agreed start time and add a clear title, such as the documentary or event name.

Paste the YouTube watch URL into the event description or location field. Invite collaborators who need the link or production timing, and set reminders that suit your workflow.

Save the event and check that invitees can access the link. Calendar is acting as a schedule and coordination tool here, not as a YouTube integration.

Google Calendar’s documented conferencing controls add Google Meet or another supported conferencing option; they are separate from YouTube livestream scheduling. Adding the YouTube URL to a Calendar event does not schedule the stream or notify your channel’s audience. For Calendar’s conferencing options, see Google Calendar’s video-conferencing help.
Share the upcoming stream with viewers
Share the watch URL in the places your audience uses. YouTube recommends sharing the livestream link at least 48 hours before going live. Viewers who find the scheduled stream on YouTube can select Notify me to receive YouTube’s own reminder. A Calendar invitation is for the people you invite, not a substitute for YouTube’s viewer notifications. See YouTube’s livestream promotion guidance and upcoming livestream notification instructions.

Start the broadcast at the scheduled time
When it is time to go live, open the scheduled stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and start broadcasting with the route you selected. With an encoder, start the encoder so it sends the stream to YouTube; with the webcam route, use the webcam workflow. The Calendar event is a reminder only and will not launch either workflow. YouTube’s encoder instructions cover starting an encoder stream.

After the broadcast, you can add its archive and any highlight clips to a YouTube playlist to make them easier to browse. This is separate from scheduling the livestream: YouTube’s documented workflow schedules an individual stream, while playlists organize videos. YouTube discusses organizing livestream archives and highlights in its promotion guidance.

Optional: redirect viewers after a stream
YouTube Live Redirect can send viewers to a Premiere or another livestream after your stream ends. It is an audience-flow feature, not part of Calendar scheduling. Redirecting viewers to another channel requires that channel’s permission, and the feature has eligibility requirements. Check YouTube’s current Live Redirect guidance before planning around it.
