Schedule the live stream in YouTube Studio; regional-language access is handled on its replay after the broadcast. Set the original video language accurately, then check the replay’s captions, translated title and description, and any alternate audio tracks. These are separate features—not one “regional-language VOD schedule” setting—and their availability varies by language, channel, and video.
Schedule the YouTube gaming live stream
- Open YouTube Studio and create a scheduled stream, or choose an existing one in Live Control Room. Edit the event settings and metadata before the broadcast.
- Give the event a clear title and description. Identify the game and spoken language, and state the intended date and time in a way that is clear to viewers in India. YouTube’s guidance does not establish an India-specific best posting time or a separate gaming schedule.
- Check the stream’s audience and other settings for your channel, then save the schedule. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can select “Notify me.” Ads, Super Chat, and channel memberships are platform options for some channels, not guaranteed earnings.
- When you are ready to broadcast, use the scheduled event in Live Control Room and confirm the stream is connected and healthy. Afterward, assess performance using your channel’s own analytics; YouTube says likes from the live stream carry over to its VOD archive.
Scheduling the event does not schedule captions, translations, or dubbed audio. Those language assets must be checked on the replay.
Set the original language for the replay
Set the source video language to the language actually spoken in the stream. YouTube says this setting helps it and contributors understand the video, supports captions, and helps viewers find videos in their language. It is useful for a gaming replay with regional-language commentary, but it does not itself create every translation or guarantee discovery.
After the stream, open the archived video in Studio and verify the language setting on that VOD. Correct a mistaken setting before relying on generated language assets. YouTube’s guidance says the feature helps when adding subtitles and captions to videos.

Make sure the replay is saved
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a local recording as a backup rather than relying on the archive alone. After the broadcast, check that the replay appears in Studio, set its visibility, and organize it in a relevant playlist if that helps viewers find it. YouTube says archives are uploaded by default and suggests organizing them into playlists.
If a replay is missing or incomplete, check its duration and your local recording before promoting it. The 12-hour guidance is YouTube’s stated archive limit, not a promise that every shorter stream will be available in every circumstance.

Choose the language treatment for the VOD
There is no single best option for every audience. Captions help viewers read speech; translated metadata can make a replay easier to find and understand; dubbed audio offers spoken access in another language when available. Check what Studio actually provides for this video before telling viewers a language is supported.

Check captions—and do not assume they work live
YouTube’s current automatic-caption help lists Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu among supported long-form languages. This is not a promise that captions will appear on every replay or that every regional language is covered. Check the actual VOD in Studio.

Automatic captions can mishear accents, dialects, names, game terminology, overlapping speakers, and noisy audio. Review and edit them before treating them as accurate. VOD captions are generated through the VOD process and may differ from live captions. YouTube encourages creators to add professional captions first.
For live automatic captions, YouTube’s help page describes English-only support under specified conditions, including normal latency and a gradual rollout that may include English channels with more than 1,000 subscribers. Treat that as current help-page wording rather than a permanent, universal eligibility rule. A language appearing in the long-form caption list does not mean live captions are available in that language.

Check dubbing and translated information in Studio
Automatic dubbing
YouTube’s listed automatic-dubbing pairs are a separate, narrower set than its long-form caption languages. Examples on its help page include English to Hindi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu; Hindi to Bengali and English; and Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Tamil to English. Availability is expanding and may vary by channel or video, so check the video’s Languages page in Studio rather than promising a dub based on the source language alone.
Review the transcript and listen to the generated audio before publishing or relying on it. YouTube warns that accents, dialects, proper names, idioms, and jargon can cause errors. Its eligibility help also says videos longer than 120 minutes may be ineligible; long gaming replays should be checked individually.

Translated titles and descriptions
Add accurate translated titles and descriptions when they help your intended viewers. YouTube says people can search using translated title and description text. Viewers can also set preferred languages for audio, titles, and descriptions; those preferences are separate from app language and location, and do not themselves affect search results or recommendations.
Do not treat “regional language” as a single coverage setting. The languages listed for long-form captions, live captions, and dubbing are different. Availability can change, so confirm the assets offered for the specific channel and replay in Studio.
Common problems and fixes
- The replay has the wrong captions or none: Check the VOD’s original video language and the caption options available for that video in Studio. Correct the source-language setting, then review any generated captions rather than assuming they are accurate.
- You expected Hindi, Tamil, or another regional language caption during the broadcast: Live captions and VOD captions are separate. YouTube’s help describes live automatic captions as English-only under stated conditions; check the replay afterward for its own caption options.
- The archive is missing or cuts off: Check the stream duration. YouTube says streams over 12 hours may not be captured; keep and inspect a local recording as a backup.
- A dub is unavailable or sounds wrong: Check the video’s Languages page and eligibility in Studio. Review the transcript and audio for names, slang, regional speech, and gaming terminology before publishing or relying on the track.
- Translated metadata does not seem to increase reach: Translated titles and descriptions can support search in those languages, but a viewer’s preferred-language setting does not itself change search results or recommendations. Use channel analytics to evaluate your own results instead of assuming a reach outcome.
