Before you schedule: connect and enable YouTube
Your YouTube channel must be connected to Talk Studio and enabled for live streaming. Streamlabs’ destination guide, last updated April 25, 2025, describes two setup steps for YouTube channels: verify the channel by SMS/text, then enable live streaming in YouTube Studio with an unlisted test stream. It says to wait 24 hours after that test before going live through Talk Studio. Streamlabs’ YouTube browser setup guide, last updated March 5, 2025, says verification may itself take up to 24 hours. These are Streamlabs’ published instructions and timing estimates; check YouTube’s current channel status and Talk Studio controls if your setup differs.
In YouTube Studio, the documented enablement route is Create > Go-live > Right now > Built-in webcam. Follow the prompts to complete the unlisted test stream. Talk Studio may also ask for browser camera and microphone permission during setup.
Schedule the YouTube broadcast
- Open the Schedule panel. In Talk Studio, click Schedule or press Shift+J, then choose + Schedule.
- Select YouTube. Choose your connected YouTube destination.
- Choose the content type. Select Live-stream if you will present in the studio, or Pre-recorded video to schedule an uploaded recording. Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated April 25, 2025, states that prerecorded videos have a 5 GB maximum file size and these maximum durations: Standard, one hour; Pro or Ultra, two hours. Plan limits and interface options can change, so confirm the current limits in Talk Studio.
- Enter the event details. Add the title, description, scheduled date and time, and thumbnail where requested. The same guide describes scheduling up to 50 days ahead; treat that as the guide’s dated limit and check the current scheduler if it will not accept your chosen date.
- Confirm the schedule. Wait for Talk Studio’s success notification. Streamlabs says YouTube creates an event link; use the confirmation details to share the scheduled broadcast with viewers.
Start the broadcast when it is time
- Open Schedule and find the scheduled item.
- Click Enter Studio. If guests will join, enter the studio before inviting them.
- When you are ready to broadcast, press Go Live (or Shift+Enter).
If you entered the studio but are not ready to begin, use Schedule again to leave it without starting the show.

Timing and destination cautions
Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated April 25, 2025, says a scheduled stream cannot be started after its scheduled date and time has passed; its recommended fix is to delete that schedule and create a new one. The guide also advises going live within 15 minutes of the scheduled time and not deleting a destination after scheduling. These are instructions from that dated Talk Studio guide, not a statement of YouTube policy; check the current Talk Studio interface if its behavior or labels differ.
