Schedule the event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, choose a start time in Indian Standard Time (IST), and use your channel’s audience data to test whether that time suits your viewers. There is no established India-wide “best” work or commute hour. Scheduling helps people find an upcoming stream and set a reminder; it does not, by itself, keep a playlist broadcasting continuously for 24 hours a day.
Choose a time to test, not a supposedly universal peak
First decide what the stream is for: morning preparation, commute listening, background viewing during the workday, or evening watching. Treat each as a hypothesis about your audience, not as a proven national schedule. There is no reliable published figure establishing one best work or commute hour across India.
Use the channel’s own audience response to compare candidate start times. Keep the content, title, promotion, and stream length as similar as practical, and observe comparable periods. That makes it easier to distinguish a timing effect from differences in the programme or how it was promoted. Publish the time consistently as IST (UTC+5:30) in the event details and promotional posts.
Confirm that the channel can livestream
Before announcing the event, check that live streaming is available on the channel. YouTube’s eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Schedule the event in YouTube Studio

Open YouTube Studio and choose Create → Go live → Manage → Schedule stream. You can reuse settings from a previous stream or create a new event. See YouTube’s encoder setup and scheduling guidance.

Enter the event details and select the intended start date and time. Use IST consistently in the event information and anywhere you share the time.

Save the scheduled event and copy its watch-page URL. YouTube says scheduling lets you promote the stream; viewers can find it as an upcoming event and choose Notify me.

Share the watch-page URL ahead of time in the places your audience follows the channel. Keep the time and event details consistent across the title, description, community post, and other promotion.

Connect an encoder and start the scheduled stream
A scheduled event and a 24/7 broadcast are different things. For an encoder-based stream, the encoder sends the video feed to YouTube using the event’s server URL and stream key. A prerecorded playlist or continuous feed must be configured in the encoder or service you choose; scheduling the YouTube event alone does not automate that feed.

Open the scheduled stream’s setup in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and copy the stream URL and stream key into your encoder.

Configure the encoder to play the prerecorded playlist or continuous feed, then check that YouTube receives it and displays a preview.

When the preview is ready and the event is due to start, select Go live in the Live Control Room.

Keep the stream key private. YouTube describes it as a credential that lets an encoder send a feed to the channel; anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to that stream.
YouTube’s verified encoder directory includes OBS Studio and cloud-based options, including Gyre, which YouTube describes as a tool for 24/7 livestreaming of prerecorded videos. YouTube says listed encoders are not made by YouTube; inclusion is not an endorsement. Choose based on whether you want to operate a local encoder or a cloud service, and on the monitoring and recovery arrangements you need.

YouTube’s help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuous 24/7 broadcast exceeds that duration, so do not assume it will be archived as a complete daylong recording or split into convenient short recordings. YouTube also warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for very long streams. Check YouTube’s guidance on DVR and live-stream archives before promising viewers that they can rewind or replay the full broadcast.
Plan for unattended operation
A scheduled event does not guarantee that a feed will keep running unattended around the clock. Before relying on a 24/7 setup, test how the selected encoder or service behaves if the connection drops, the feed ends, or the stream needs to reconnect. Establish who will monitor it and what to do if the event stops. YouTube’s scheduling instructions explain creating and launching an event, not a guaranteed 24/7 automation or recovery service.
