You can schedule a prerecorded YouTube video in Streamlabs Talk Studio by connecting your YouTube account, choosing Pre-recorded video in Schedule, uploading the finished video, and setting its event details. Talk Studio’s documentation describes looping for background audio, but does not establish a control for looping a prerecorded video. To make a countdown play before a repeated segment, prepare both in one continuous video file before uploading.
Schedule a prerecorded YouTube video in Talk Studio
Connect YouTube as a destination first. Then schedule the prerecorded event from Talk Studio’s Schedule view. Streamlabs’ guide, updated April 25, 2025, documents this upload-and-schedule workflow; it does not state a file-size or duration limit for scheduled prerecorded videos. See Streamlabs’ prerecorded-video guide.
- Connect YouTube. Open the profile menu, choose Account Settings, then Destinations and Add Destination. Follow the prompts to connect YouTube. The Talk Studio Getting Started guide was last updated October 1, 2025.
- Open scheduling. In Talk Studio, open Schedule and choose +Schedule.
- Choose the destination and format. Select YouTube, then choose Pre-recorded video.
- Upload the finished video. Select the video file you prepared for the event and continue to its details.
- Enter the event information. Add a title, description, date and time, and thumbnail.
- Schedule it. Review the destination and event details, then choose Schedule.
Talk Studio is web-based. The steps above are for a scheduled prerecorded event, not for sharing a video during a live studio session.
Can Talk Studio loop a prerecorded video?
The retrieved Talk Studio documentation does not establish a video-loop control for either the scheduled prerecorded-video workflow or screen sharing. It does document looping for audio: in a live session, one selected background-audio track loops automatically, and an audio queue can be repeated or shuffled. Those audio controls should not be treated as video-loop controls. The Screen Sharing guide, last updated October 29, 2025, lists MP4 video as shareable but describes its loop directions for audio.

If your goal is a countdown followed by repeated program content, the practical workaround is to create and export a single video with the segments arranged in the required order, then upload that file as the prerecorded event. This is a preparation approach based on Talk Studio’s upload workflow, not a documented promise that Talk Studio will repeat the video. If you need the countdown to repeat until a particular moment, include the desired number of countdown-and-program sequences in the exported file; the documentation cited here does not establish an automatic repeat-until-start behavior.
Put the countdown and repeated content into one video
- Decide the sequence. For example, place the countdown first, then the program segment, then repeat whichever sections you want viewers to see again.
- Assemble and export one continuous file. Use a video editor of your choice to create the sequence. Talk Studio’s cited guidance does not specify editing software, export settings, or an upload limit for scheduled video.
- Check the exported file before scheduling. Play it through to confirm the countdown, transitions, sound, and repetitions appear in the intended order. This catches sequence errors before the file is scheduled.
- Upload that file through Schedule. Follow the prerecorded-event steps above. The sequence is part of the uploaded video; it is not a Talk Studio loop setting.
Streamlabs separately documents H.264/MP4 clips for its Intros & Outros feature. Its stated upload maximums—150 MB for Standard and 300 MB for Pro—apply to those intro/outro clips, not to scheduled prerecorded videos. Do not use those figures as a limit for the workflow in this article. See the Talk Studio Intros & Outros guide, last updated September 16, 2025.

Choose between a scheduled video and live screen sharing
| Workflow | What the documentation establishes | Best fit | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scheduled prerecorded event | Select YouTube, choose Pre-recorded video, upload the file, fill in event details, and schedule. | A finished countdown and program sequence you want to schedule as a prerecorded event. | The cited guide does not state a video-loop control, file-size limit, or duration limit. |
| Share an MP4 in a live Talk Studio session | MP4 video is listed as shareable; one selected background-audio track loops automatically, and audio queues can repeat or shuffle. | Presenting an MP4 during a live studio session when you can operate the session. | The documented looping behavior is for audio, not video. Screen sharing is not supported on mobile devices. |
These are distinct workflows and should not be assumed to share all controls. The screen-sharing guide lists entire screen, browser window or tab, slides, images, presentations, MP4 video, and MP3/WAV background audio as shareable content. It says mobile devices do not support screen sharing.
Before you schedule
- Confirm YouTube is connected and selectable as the destination.
- Watch the complete exported file to verify the countdown and repetitions are actually in the video.
- Check your rights to the video and audio. Only use material you have permission to broadcast; the Talk Studio feature guides cited here do not determine whether particular content meets YouTube’s copyright or monetization rules.
- Do not infer upload limits from other features. The intro/outro clip maximums are specific to that feature, while the cited prerecorded scheduling guide states no cap.
- Use a computer for screen sharing. Talk Studio’s guide says mobile devices do not support that workflow. This limitation is about screen sharing, not a stated restriction on scheduling a prerecorded event.
Troubleshooting
YouTube is missing from the destination list
Connect it through Profile menu → Account Settings → Destinations → Add Destination, then return to Schedule and select YouTube.

The video plays once instead of repeating
The cited documentation does not establish a video-loop setting. Edit the repeated sequence into the uploaded file itself rather than relying on the background-audio loop behavior.
You can loop the music but not the MP4
The Screen Sharing guide documents looping for a selected audio track or audio queue. It does not extend those controls to MP4 video.

You cannot share a screen from a phone or tablet
Talk Studio’s Screen Sharing guide says mobile devices do not support screen sharing. Use a computer for that live-session workflow, or use the separate scheduled prerecorded-event path.
You are unsure how large a scheduled video can be
The retrieved prerecorded-video guide does not state a file-size or duration cap. The 150 MB Standard and 300 MB Pro figures belong to intro/outro clips and do not answer the scheduled-video question.
